Northwoods Pots of Flowers - Thinking of You

Welcome, and this post shares another image from the past. Think this was a borrowed stamp, but liked it so much, may have purchased it - must check the Northwoods collection. I love these stamps, but they are wood base, so take up quite a bit of storage room. Additionally, the images are usually large enough, it makes a card front without any extra additions. These stamps are very high quality, so detailed, and I've yet to have one not stamp well. Also fun to color.

- added more contrast to the previously done copic coloring...put in some grounding, and die cut with a stitched rectangle die. The image was so large, trimmed down after die cutting, and edged with DI Walnut Stain. This card is still a bit larger than my usual 5.5x4.25, so will require a custom envie.

- SU border scallop from some textured dull gold added at the base to balance out the card front.

- WoS added to the flowers, edged with DI Antique Linen while in the die. Mounted on Bazzill textured c/s. The LSS used to put discontinued Bazzill colors on sale at good prices, so would buy neutral colors when possible.

- Hand cut sentiment, stamped with Memento Elderberry, stamped off once, to get less vivid color. Edged with the Walnut Stain. Thought about adding some sequins, decided to leave as is.

Hope you like this one. Thanks for stopping in, come again when you have time. Hugs & Blessings.

  13. Beautiful Mary and such lovely shading in your colouring, and the stitched rectangle with the bit of gentle inking, and the scalloped border and simple fishtail banner for the sentiment, finish it simply but very prettily and allow the flowers to take centre stage. x

  24. Impressive coloring and design. You're right, this kind of image does not need anything else. And it works for any occasion. I can picture this as one colored in different shades of grey and being used for a sympathy card too.

  25. This card makes me really happy. I used to love this big stamps with lots of coloring. Somewhere along the line I realized I didn't have the time to dedicate to them. They still make me think of that time and remind me of my grandmother in law. She loved this big lots of coloring stamps too. She had a bit more time than me! Love it! Happy bright colors and lots of bits and bobs with the sponging, the border, and the off stamped greeting. Very nice!

  28. A superb image for either Spring or Summer and I do like am image that takes up most of the space so you don't really need any embellishments, not that I use a great deal of embellishments anyway, sometimes they are overloaded and take the eye off the image.
Well that's my humble opinion anyway.

  41. Hi Mary, sorry not been visiting so often lately. We are in full flow with wedding and moving 'stuff' so have not had much time. I have looked in on all your lovely cards over the past couple of weeks. The new bathroom looks really good. I sympathise with the dust problem and have that to face in our new house. The builder has been putting in a log burning stove so there is plaster dust everywhere. Decorating is on hold for a bit until he has finished. The walls need one more coat of paint but will need to be wiped down first to get the dust off and my study/craftroom has yet to meet a pot of paint! The wedding is on the 27th of this month and our moving date is the 23rd of next month. Hopefully after that it will get a bit calmer! Take care. Pippa x

  46. What detailed loveliness, Mary ... such a delicious burst of colour in those blooms! I've enjoyed wandering through all your recent cards too ... and hearing that your bathroom saga is about at an end. It must feel so good to finally have it finished ... and not to have artisans coming and going all the time! Bon weekend, my friend! Hugs, Anita :)
