Halloween

Good afternoon. Window cleaning progress to report: 7 windows cleaned today. We have tilt in windows, and I always manage to get one 'out of the track', and we have to struggle to get it back in the track so it can be closed. One year we managed to bend a frame, had to call a repair guy to fix the frame, so now DH helps me hold the windows in a stable position. Today we managed to get one so that the locks won't work now! Decided then it was time to call it a day. 7 down, 13 more to go- on the main floor!

Here's a card I did practicing the Iris fold I learned last Saturday. It's not great, but at least I was able to follow the pattern.

- Various yellow DP and card stock. If DP is used, the 'back area' is not so thick. This will have to be a hand delivered card. I even stacked some books on the card front to flatten it a bit. It's still too thick for a regular envelope. The witch was die cut from the THoltz Witch die, which also has a bat.

- Sentiment is one of the 'on the edge' dies, not sure if it was DieNamics or Memory Box, but I can verify this if someone wants to know for sure.

- Cut a card front from Coordinations texture paper, used a S/Binder circle die to make the opening to cover the iris fold. Then adhered the witch. Entire piece was then adhered to a cardbase.

For anyone who is interested in trying the Iris folding technique, there are patterns available..just google Iris fold and you'll find lots of free ones to print out.

Thanks for visiting. Hope to see you again tomorrow if I can manage it. Ya'll have a wonderful evening, and now I'm off for a rest. You will see me doing a Happy Dance when these chores are finished! (I can hear my Mama saying now "If - in a hundred years - it won't make a difference, why are you fretting over it?", but I still like a half-way clean house!) Hugs

Halloween

Hello and thanks for joining me on a beautiful Saturday morning. We've gotten some Halloween cards ready so I hope to get started on Fall themed cards in the next day or two. We always remember someone else to whom we should send a card, so you may see another Spooky here & there! We've never had this much of a head start on a holiday before. Feels good! (The Blogger made me do it! :-} )

I've been seeing so many wonderful cards using the Memory Box window die and I thought the image used in this next card would be perfect for a window die. Here goes:

- Memory Box Madison Window die

- Memory Box sentiment (Spare Parts brads), stamped in Colorbox Fluid Chalk Pumpkin ink, sponged with DI Vintage Photo.

- S/B Flourish Trim Deelight die behind sentiment.

- Paper Studio woodgrain EF on kraft. Inked the EF with Memento Rich Cocoa before embossing.

- solid Great Impressions witch image stamped with Archival Black ink on white card stock; masked - then airbrushed with copics. There's lots of layers of airbrushing to get the evening sky look. The piece had dried for a while,  didn't feel 'tacky', but in removing the mask, I got a fingerprint just above her feet.  We're calling this boo-boo a design element!!! Used C4 for the shadow around Witch's outline.

I will claim this card as my creation, but DH's idea.

Hope your weekend is off to a good start. Enjoy it, and come again. Porch is nice & clean - for a little while anyway! We can sit a spell, rock & watch the neighbors pass & give a wave. That's what we do here in South Carolina! Hugs.

Halloween

Good morning. Back with another Halloween card, made from a cute Penny Black image.

- the image is PB 3 Headed Monster, colored with copics. Easy coloring as far as the image goes, _BUT_ the paper I used was a LaBlanche Specialty paper, supposed to be good to use with copics. This particular piece felt very slick, almost a glossy type finish, but didn't look glossy. It didn't color 'easy' as does Xpress paper or the Neenah. I used 'stroke' colors because the usual recommended copic circle technique did not look at all nice. When I did a 2nd coat with stroke movements, I liked it a bit better. I have used the LaBlanche speciality papers before and liked them, but sure didn't like this particular piece. Didn't blend well either. Adding the google eyes was DH's idea.

-S/Binder die cut frame is from a very thin glitter paper from a 6x6 American Crafts pack. It's easier to use punches on this lightweight paper.

- punkin Jack o' Lantern is an MS punch from the same paper pack, with a snippet of yellow behind the face.

- S/Binders Fancy Framed Tags One, with SU Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Memento Canteloupe with some added orange rhinestones.

DH says to thank ya'll for the nice comments on his Halloween cards. He enjoyed reading what folks had to say. No, he doesn't want to start a blog & yes he enjoys making Halloween cards, as long as I don't start giving him advice on how to make the card! :-) .

Ya'll have a nice day, and thanks for visiting. Will try to have a non-Halloween card tomorrow...Hugs!

Halloween

Hello & welcome. Back again today with another of DH's cards. As you can probably tell, his cardmaking tastes differ greatly from my own...but hey, that's ok. I tell him go for it. Just don't add layers & layers & raised embellies, cause it's expensive to mail. These he is making will be sent to buddies he used to work with. When he doesn't send any cards at Halloween, we get emails asking "Where's Joe's card?".

- Skeleton is a Hero Arts Dancing Skeleton cling that he picked out. He cut the trims using decorative edge scissors, punched moon & bat.

- Remaining items were purchased embellies that he found here & there in our travels.

- Bone is a brad, a dog bone actually, and I'm not sure why he added this..but it's his design, so whom am I to question His Art! (I'm trying to get him interested in the Dylusions spray stuff as he likes airbrushing, when the mood hits him. Also I think he'll like the Gelli plate, if I ever get it out of the packaging!)

Thanks for your visit, and come again when we can go set a spell on the front porch in the rocking chairs. That's what we in the South do when the weather starts to cool along towards fall. Pretty soon it will be time to break out the autumn decorations, so we have to get our porch cleaned off this week. Then do some window washing 'fore it gets cold weather. Not one of my favorite tasks! Ya'll have a great day. Hugs

Halloween

Hello on this September 1st. Welcome to a new follower, Dianne, of The Mouse in the Corner. It would be so sweet if you could take a few minutes, pay Dianne's blog a little visit, and leave a little love. You'll also enjoy some lovely projects too.

Here's a card to share today. I didn't make this one, DH did. He's been at the desk, stamping, having me hunt up supplies; stamping, asking me "Where is _____. How do you do _____?" and while I'm tickled to have him take a new interest in making cards, I just have to step back and be the hunt & fetch person. (can't get too upset with him cause I can't find stuff in the mess either, and I'm the one who messed up the place!). Plus there's only room for one of us at the desk..we both tend to scatter out all over the place!

This is a fairly simple card, as the stamp is a large Stampendous Cling stamp, which he selected on our visit to Absolutely Everything in New England. He stamped it on basic white paper, I added the sponging with DI colors of Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, then Mr. cut around the edges with some deckled scissors. He added the label on the top hat and the poison bottle in the ghoul's hand. A tiny black bat & spider finished it off. The image is mounted on a black cardbase.

Hope you like it. Halloween is DH's holiday for card making. He used to get involved in the Christmas card effort, but got disinterested for a while. Hopefully this Halloween flurry might get him enthusiastic in making Christmas cards again. Enjoy & thanks for the visit. Come again when you can. Hugs

Halloween

Hello again, and thanks for listening to me vent yesterday. All the aggravation we were dealing with, is  trivial, but it was getting to me because each issue has been an ongoing thing. Thankfully the refrigerator is under warranty but that doesn't cover food loss. We wait for the repair guy to show. Each has a company laptop that he brings inside -  yet seems to not have the 'history', so long explanations ensue; then we wait for a part, then wait for the guy, etc. etc. We also have discoloration marks which seem to be multiplying on the white door, but the manufacturer is not doing anything about it. The extended warranty company informed us that only mechanical problems are covered, not a 'cosmetic one'.   On the positive side, hopefully the next 'fix' _will_ correct the freezer problem. This is one of the French Door type refrigerators, and I really liked it for the first year, until we started having some problems that should not be happening with this kind of product 18 months into ownership. We've had cheap fridges that didn't give us this much grief!

I'm also hopeful the new router will solve our Netflix issues. Had not been able to connect with Netflix consistently, then not at all. It was my decision to stay with our free trial membership as I spied lots of tv series that I watched back in the early & mid 70's, and knew I'd enjoy them. DH said he didn't think it was worth the extra $$$$ for the monthly subscription, in addition to our cable bill, plus we had to upgrade our provider stuff. Then it still didn't work properly; each time the installer came out, it was another charge, because the issues were not really 'his' fault. Hopefully this last trip has the problem has solved. Worked great last night, and I was able to get my 'Doc Martin' fix! I've become addicted to that show!

OK...here's another Halloween card.

8/26/2013

Halloween

Hi and welcome! We've had our tv installer here all day, working on our Netflix & router problem..got a new router. And you _know_ what the drill is - when you install new equipment..then something else doesn't work properly, and requires a lot of fiddling. My computer has not been available until after 3:30 pm. Had a refrigerator repairman here as well. Something that should have been changed on the last repair visit, 2 wks ago, was not done properly...now we're getting frost on our freezer interior doors & on the food in the freezer. (think freezer burn). That came about from a control board being changed out because food in the refrigerator area, was freezing. Lost a bunch of vegetables, milk, etc. on that deal. To say we are not happy campers, is an understatement. This refrigerator is about 18 months old, was the most expensive one we've ever purchased. Worked great for about a year. Won't buy another one of _this_ brand!

OK...enough of my whining...onto my card.

- Art Impression Mice & Sweet Set image, colored with copics, diecut with Opulent Ovals. Sponged just a bit of DI Brushed Corduroy on the outer edges. I had airbrushed the background, didn't want the brown tones on the blue airbrushing. Trimmed with copic colored pearls that started out as white.

- cardbase covered with some Bella Blvd Itsy Bitsy Spider paper, from years ago. This was in a stack that got damp in the washing machine flooding fiasco a few months back. It's a little warp-y, but thought it would look ok on this grungy card. Spider is printed on the DP but I used some spica pen over him for some glitter.

- green & white S/B deckled rectangle diecut is from the reverse side of Itsy Bitsy DP.

- snippet of orange, embossed with my fav dots EF, smudged some Brushed Corduroy over this, to tone down the bright orange. This piece only needed to have about 3/4" snipped off, had already been embossed.

- snippet of white stamped with Memory Box stamp, cut with scissors, used a heart corner punch (the top rounded bit) to dress up the corners; airbrushed some Copic E40, and YR02 so that the tag didn't look so 'white'. Added 3 pearls colored with black copic.

- tiny bats from an EK Success punch - from a very small snippet of black.

That's it! I'm off to the Crafty Snippets Playground with this snippety card, as I saw a prize winning that is very much worth vying for. Check it out!

Halloween

Good Morning, Happy Halloween and Welcome to my newest follower. Truly, I promise THIS card is the last Halloween card - I HOPE - for 2012! This one belongs to DH, and the witches reminded me (and probably him as well) of the 2 of us when we take a trip. Had to laugh when I decided on the image for his card. Here's the specs:

Penny Black Backseat Witch Stamp
My Mind's Eye 12x12 Halloween pack
Sizzix Framelits Die
Memory Box Small Spider die on black glitter paper
Copics on focal image, Copic airbrushing background using B range colors.
Star background stamp used after airbrushing done. Inked with Versamark, Ranger embossing glitter applied, heat set* (Note to self: Gold emboss would have looked better I think)
Flowersoft Citrus on broom bristles after all above was done.
Sentiment: Inkadinkadoo, black ink, handcut.

JHH's Card (WMSC120)
Good MORN-ing Bloggers! Welcome. What a gorgeous day it is outside. Sunny, cool, pretty blue sky. DH is feeling better today, so maybe some adventures out & about. (well, for one thing we need to visit the post office to mail some cards!!! LOL. Maybe some nice lunch somewhere -hmmm??? Take a ride in the country to see some fall color. Enough adventure for 2 old duffers like us!!!)OK, here's a card to share, made by my sometimes talented DH - as in, when he wants to be. Now I helped with the technical stuff, like cutting the paper to the proper size, doing the diecutting, fussy gluing...the HARD stuff, you know? But DH picked out the die he wanted to use for the design, the papers, told me how he wanted the card to look, etc. So for the arty stuff, he gets the credit.
The die is Enchanted Flight, by Cheery Lynn. Ran it through the Big Shot 4 passes - (front, back, front, back again). This is lightweight paper, and we had 2 sheets in the sandwich. It cut very well. Sometimes I have to do battle with the CL dies. Didn't realize the 2 sheets had stuck together until DH went to get the pokeys out (that was his assignment and he had no choice but to accept it). He said "Did you mean to cut 2 pieces of paper?" Well, no I didn't, but we were able to make 4 cards for him to send out to his specific addresses, when we had meant to just make 2. Of course he can come up with 2 more folks to send the extras. The orange paper was embossed with the dots C/Bug EF, and the yellow moon, punched with an SU circle punch - was out of some pearlized paper. He used a white gel pin for the Keep out sign. Inside, he punched a big black bat, glued to the insert, and stamped some appropriate Halloween sentiments. I thought it was a neat card, I'm proud of him for making it, and thought we'd share it with you. The liquid glue used for the fussy diecut was by Alene's and is called Tacky Easy Flow. I get this at Scrapbook Creations, and learned about it in a class held there. I would think your local stamping supplier would have or be able to get this, or possibly some of the online sites might sell it. This glue is stored laying down, not upright. You don't need a solid bead of it - just bits & dabs along where you need it. Dries clear and if stored as directed, I've never had to unclog it. I highly recommend it for this type of adhesion. Can you imagine trying to put tape on all these little bits? Not me!!! Have a Blessed day.

Edit: Just saw where Waltzing Mouse  is having a challenge and has opened it so that the entry doesn't HAVE to have Waltzing Mouse stamps used. So I think I'll enter this card...This is a great site, with lovely stamps. Check it out when you have time.

Halloween

Good evening, and thanks for coming by for a visit. I have another Halloween card (Sorry, I know I said I was finished. However, when I listed names for those I wanted to send cards, I was a couple short! LOL). I did have some images colored, but waiting for cards. So...on to the card specs: This is a cute Penny Black image called Catman, colored with copics. My colors were in the YR & W familes, with just a bit of E95(tea rose?) on his nose & ears. Used S/binders pinked circle to diecut, sponged with Distress Ink Scattered Straw, then went back over using a dauber with Memento Black. I inked the dauber, stamp off on scratch paper, then sponged lightly over the DI. The background papers are snippets, embossed with 3 different folders. Little ghosts are Memory Box (love 'em), and the sentiment was cut with the S/Binder ribbon tags. Sheer orange ribbon was from a spool in the stash. I think I'll go see if anybody is at Pixie's Playground. These ladies are such fun, and man oh man, do they ever help me in using up the snippets. If you're like the rest of us, with lots of leftover 'schtuff', give them a whirl. As I hopped over the pond, I saw Di's post about the Rudolph Day reminder, so I need to get cracking. Got an entry nearly ready, especially for that challenge.  There's lots of fun at this challenge, and Sarn opens it for linking on the 25th. If you have some time, a Christmas-y card to share, check it out. In the meantime, have a great evening and wonderful week. Hugs.
Edit: Once again, a big thanks to Linda for reminding me this can be entered at the Penny Black & More challenge for October.

Halloween

Good evening...yes, I know, I know...more Halloween stuff. This is the same Stampability House Mouse I had used for an earlier card, different coloration and card background. I airbrushed the background on this one, trying for a sort of sunset look. I used some of the BV colors in the darker tones, some of the reds - and some blues. All in darker tones than I would normally use for a background. Did the same on the bottom part, with Yellow Greens in colors I don't normally airbrush. Figured if I made a total mess of it, well, as a friend says "It's only Paper!" (thanks Mary Alice for the quote!) I'll digress here a bit: When I first met this very talented lady, she was doing some watercolor images at our LSS. I didn't know her at all, but I was just walking around, looking over shoulders to see what each person was doing. Nobody told me "Get your nose out of my space", so when I got to Mary Alice, at the back of the tables, she was doing some watercolor images. I watched for a bit, she'd be unhappy with what she had done, look at it, comment "I don't like that one", pitch it in the garbage! I thought each thing she tossed was great; if I had known her the least little bit at the time, you'd better believe I would have grabbed each one out of the garbage can. When I finally did get to know her, I told her this story, and we laugh about it. She's always reminding me that "it's only paper". True. OK. back to the card...background paper is from My Mind's Eye pack, Halloween Scary Sparkle. Image was diecut with S/B Labels 2, #5 die. The crow is a new MS All-Over-the-Page punch, with a silver piece behind it, to get it to show up better. Not sure I like this part, but ...it's adhered.

Halloween

Happy Halloween Folks. I think I'm about to finish up with the Halloween cards. Got one more done - ready to schedule a post. I'll try to finish up with this theme today, and go on to something else! BUT I needed to do these cards, AND I needed to have something to share, so ....Once again a PBlack stamp, The Horror Team, diecut with S/Binders Label 14, #5 die. Sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink, while in the die. I used the out-of-the box technique on this one, so I didn't have to resort to the next larger die. If you are interested in how to do that, leave a comment, and I'll post the link that I found showing an easy way to do this. There's lots of Youtube videos showing how...some better than others. Anyway, the image was colored with copics and Spica pens. The purple mat is a S/Binder Floral Motif medallion, that I cut apart. I also used a circle S/B in the center, saves weight in the layers, and I have the circle for another project. (IF I remember I have it, and IF I can find it when I need it. :-). The background was made using Impression Cover a Card stamps (CAC) 013 - Fizz -  using Colorbox Fluid chalk ink Yellow Cadmium, then over top of that one, CAC 067- Crackle - in Pumpkin Spice. The added pumpkin on the left is a new stamp from Memory Box, has 3 little circle pumpkins. There is a companion stamp that has 3 different little faces. It's pretty easy to separate out a face if one doesn't want all 3, and in this instance I did not. I have a sentiment stamped & ready to go, but it just didn't look right on the front, so I think I'll add it to the inside. I did the same kind of background on a white scrap, stamped the sentiment, cut it out, rounded the corners. See you later today, and as always, thanks for visiting.

Halloween

Hello again...Um...more Halloween. Welcome once more to my newest followers. Thank you for joining. I see on some of the  followers' pictures, that there is no blog listed. If you DO have a blog, and I'm not signed on as a follower, AND you would like me to be, please let me know how to find you! I love checking out what all of you are doing. I find it most inspirational (sometimes intimidating too!)However, I learn something - pretty much - from every blog I visit. At the very least, sometimes a visit will brighten my day, in a way that the poster could never imagine. So thanks to all of you! On to the specs: Stamp is a P.Black, Frightful Flight, colored with copics and Spica pens for a bit of sparkle. Diecut with S/Binders Romantique Rectangle, Die #3, sponged with Distress Inks Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, while still in the die. The added punkin was cut from an EK Success triple layer punch, and has solid black behind the face. I had a little black mark on the white edging...dunno how I did that, but I needed to cover it. I used scraps & bits of design papers that were on the desk from othr projects, cut strips wide enough to cover the card as a background. The MS punch at the top is Drippy Glue or somesuch name..one of the oldies. I needed to hide (he he he) a bit of white basecard that was showing...Also on the left edge is some Washi Tape in orange, used for the same reason. I was being so careful to 'cover all the white', but darn it, I always manage to get the adhesive stuck before I'm really ready to put it down firmly. Hope you enjoy this one. I like it.

Halloween

Welcome to my newest followers. So happy to have you join me here, and I'll hope that you like what you see & read. Here's another (yawn!) Halloween card...nearly got 'em all made for the folks on our list. So on to the card: The stamp is a Penny Black stamp recently purchased from eBay (no bargains did I get either! but I did nab some nice stamps). This one is Feathered Witch, colored with copics. The background is a textured purple, one side dark, the textured side is a bit lighter & somewhat metalic looking. I embossed with a Darice spiderweb folder, after first inking with Gray Flannel Momento ink. Used a S/binder oval to cut out the chick, airbrushed the background with B & BG 0000's, while still in the die. The bottom strip was from some MS adhesive paper (ah, a snippet!) as was the sentiment, which was a last moment decision. Stamped with Momento Tangelo, used Black Diva Pearl to make the trim. The orange ribbon is also a snippet left from another project. I didn't get the purple background quite as far as it should have gone. Alas the adhesive was stuck fast, so I had to scrounge up something to hide the bit of white peeping through on the left side of the card. I have a sis-in-law who likes chickens, has some really cute home dec things that bespeak 'chickens', so guess who will get THIS card! Only fair, as their anniversary card was more geared to my brother, so now it's HER turn! Hope you like this one.  I think I'll dash over to the Playground, and see if they saved me a pink hardhat....

Halloween

Hello, and yet another Halloween card. I have a ton of Halloween stamps, (and I like the cute ones, not the gruesome ones!). So here goes: The stamp is a Stampability House Mouse, Interview with the Vampire. Colored - of course - with copics, airbrushed background, some Spica pens. I used a Signe white pen on the fangs to emphasize the teeth. Diecut with S/B Label 8, Die #4. Traced the same die onto purple paper, to get a mat, which I handcut. The B&W circle paper is from a new Mind's Eye paper pack on sale at A C Moore recently. The other papers were from the stash. The sentiment is from an MS Adhesive pack from last year. I added some dots at each side of the sentiment, using Black Viva Decor pearls. Thanks for visiting, and I promise to try to do something besides Halloween, but I have several I needed to get ready. AND I wanted to use these cute stamps. Now I need to get some Thanksgiving and Christmas cards ready!

9/04/2012

Halloween

Good afternoon, welcome; come right on in! Here's a cute little Stampability House Mouse entitled Witch Way to the Candy. I love these little mice, but I have difficulty at times, getting their fur colored just the shade that I envision. I keep experimenting and one of these days...Used copics to color the image. Diecut with S/B Label 23, die #5, then masked the image with Eclips tape. Keeping the image in the die, airbrushed the background in some BV colors. Airbrushing seems to give me a smoother background. I used my favorite Copic Xpress paper to stamp the image. The design papers were from the Authentique 6x6 Enchanted pack. The sentiment was from an MStewart Adhesive pack I bought last year. The swirls in the corners were from a die cut used in an earlier project. I used a paper punch to get the black dots, put some Glossy Accents on the dots. Last year we used a lot of embellishments that were raised, and the post office didn't like that. (also cost more to mail!). I had seen a tip on a blog about using the Glossy Accents on paper. This makes the dots look more like pearls (one of mine looks a little smushed)..and when it's in the envelope, won't cause a raised surface for the postal folks to feel.

Halloween

Welcome to Halloween Land! I'm on a Halloween roll. I have some Cheery Lynn dies, which I love (when they work well. I have issues with some of them). This is one that is very intricate, but cut better than I expected. It's called Enchanted Flight, cut out withblack lightweight Recollections paper. I've found that these CL dies do not cut well using Bazzill or any of the 'good quality' papers. I use a Big Shot, or a C/Bug, have watched the 'how-to' videos so many times I can nearly recite the fella's dialog; keep trying shims, use the recommended sandwich along with the metal cutting plate. It's a gamble as to how well my results turn out. This one worked ok, just using the normal sandwich in the Big Shot, but I did have to pick out some of the pieces. The orange-y background was from the Authentique 6x6 Enchanted Collection. (it was handy, I didn't have to hunt for it!) I cut 2 sheets, 5 1/2x 4 1/4 to fit the card base. Then using the Genesis cutter, sliced each of the 2 sheets on an angle, glued down on the card base. I think I'll try another card using this die, with a very bright golden yellow background...might show up better. It did not scan well, but looks fairly ok IRL. Oh well, I told you, I'm learnin'! Thanks for stopping to visit. Edit: I must include here, that Cheery Lynn was very good about replacing one of the doily dies that gave me problems. Had my stamping buddies try it to make sure it was not Operator Error. The die did not appear to be as 'deep' on the cutting surface as some of the other dies. I emailed the Customer Service, and they very promptly replaced the die for me. That needed to be said. These are really very beautiful dies.

Halloween

Happy Saturday, and welcome to my little corner of blogland. What a beautiful day we have for this 1st day of Sept. This year has gone by so fast...(or is it just ME?). Here's another Halloween card to share. I'll get to the specs: Stampability House Mouse - Apple Delight (from a few years ago). Colored with Copics. Diecut with S/binders Labels 18, #5 die. Airbrushed background - used B0000,BG000, tried to use BV01 to get a bit more shadow shading right around the image. I am not that adept at controlling the airbrush for that just yet...! Didn't like the result, but I decided to take the marker and just continue to shadow an outline.

Halloween

Good morning, and a BIG WELCOME to some new followers, who visited from OUTLAWZ. I have a Halloween card to share today, so will get right to it! Here's the specs: Base cardstock from a Michael's Halloween package...embossed with Sizzix Bats & Owls (656776), using Momento Grey Flannel to swipe down the EF before running through the Big Shot (saw this on a recent Gina K video). Mouse image is a Stampability House Mouse Tricks or Cheese, colored with copics on a snippet of white Xpress cardstock, sponged edges with Distress Ink Wild Honey. I used a 3" scalloped punch - and the snippet was just barely large enough for this to work. Saw a black circle leftover from another project, where I had cut out the center to get another mat using spellbinders, and lo & behold, this worked for a mat for Mr. Mouse. Hooray.. The design paper was yet another Snippet and the paper is old, from the stash - so don't know the company, but it fit my theme. The dark mat behind this piece is the opposite side of the same paper. Spiderweb border is a Martha S. deep edge spiderweb punch, and the little ghosties, again...a snippet from a white scrap that I had cut some ghosts for another project. Ghosties are Memory Box Ghost Trio 98376. I sponged just the edges with the Grey Flannel which was right at hand, using a small dauber. I'll say it again...I LOVE those Memory Box dies... I believe I'll dash over to Pixie's Playground, and see what those girls are up to...Maybe they'll be doing something I can share now that I'm more steady on my feet!

FOOT UPDATE: by the by, got rid of my lovely footgear on Tuesday, now have a brace, and can wear shoes. Ankle & bottom heel sole still quite swollen, ankle very wobbly. Will be going to therapy for some visits. So very thankful to be where I am at this stage of the problem!!

Thanks for popping in to visit, and hope you like the card. I expect I'll have quite a few Halloween cards coming up..DH is supposed to help with these.

Halloween 2012
Happy Monday Friends. I hope it's been a good one for you so far. I did manage to get downstairs last evening to finish up this card, but didn't get back upstairs in time to post it before going to bed. So here it is for today's share. Here's the specs: Image is a Stampability Mummy 02, (Think it was a Hobby Lobby stamp on sale. DH likes Halloween, so we're always on the hunt for 'scary' stamps.) Stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black, diecut with a Spellbinders Circle, sponged with London Fog while still in the die. Mat was embossed with a C/bug dots folder, then diecut with a larger S/B scalloped circle, using a small plain circle to cut out the middle (don't need the weight if mailing the card, PLUS a snippet to use on another project). Black & purple cardstock used was from a Michael's  Trick or Treat paper pack, which has 5 different colors of cardstock in the pack, again, probably on sale or purchased with a coupon. This is lightweight paper, so I shall add an insert where I stamp a sentiment. Not sure I'll put a sentiment on the outside.  The little ghosties are Memory Box 98376 -- aren't they the cutest thing? I am lovin' those dies. Cut better than any I have used to date. Have purchased most of them from Oozak.com. The pattern paper was from stash.  (spiderweb & dots was probably Paper Studio from H/Lobby) Used an MS punch on the dots paper- think it is called Gothic Arches. It sort of looked 'spooky' to me.  Expect I'll be posting more Boo-Boo cards here, along with a few more Birthday cards I need for October. Have a great day, and as always, thanks for visiting.
