Friday Fun Day at Jo's Scrap Shack

Good Morning, and if it's Friday, it must be Fun Day at Jo's Scrap Shack. Today - for Friday Fun Day Challenge #21 - our challenge theme is being hosted by Amanda, and she chose the theme "pick your favorite technique". Of course mine was going to be something with copic coloring and if I could throw in some Dylusions sprays, then all the more fun. I picked a cute image from one of our sponsors Limited Runs Digi Stamps, the very cute Scarecrow Girl, who was such fun to color. Here she is:

- Image printed on Copic Xpress paper, colored with copics, diecut with S/binders Deckled Oval and then edged with DI Vintage Photo & Rusty Hinge. I used copic G0000 to shade the background, then replaced image in the die for sponging the Distress Ink.

- Traced outside of S/Binder die & handcut the faux mat- using a previously created Dylusions background of various shades of dark blues & purple-y colors.

Friday Funday Challenge #19 at Jo's Scrap Shack

Hello and thanks for joining me this morning. Since it's Friday, you know it is a Funday Friday Challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack.  This week is our sponsor is Digital stamps by Kenny K. I chose Harper Blue as my image to feature for this week's challengetheme of National Womens Friendship Day which was selected by fellow DT mate, Brenda. So here's the card I have to share:

- Kenny K Harper Blue digi was printed on Copic Xpress paper. I printed 2 images, then printed again on 2 different DP's, as I had decided to try paper piecing again. (this is _not_ easy for me, folks!). Harper's flared jeans reminded me of jeans we wore back in the '60's - which I'm sure many of you can't remember that far back!. So that mandated my choice of papers to piece her clothing; then colored skin & hair with copics. I colored the arms and neck on my 2nd c/stock print, cut them out and adhered to the base image. Otherwise her braceleted arm would have been underneath the pieced jeans. Her belt & bracelets were colored with Lipstick Red Spica pen, and IRL - these glitter a bit..as does her lipstick. Her hair got a bit of glossy accents for some added shine, as did her platform shoes. As I recall, these espadrille wedgie shoes from the '60's were of a fiber similar to coir rugs. Not a favorite style of mine, and the one pair I had - were miserable to try to walk in without being 'wobbly'. Diecut the image with a S/B oval, then embossed it with one of the Gold Ovals. Airbrushed the background in BG0000.

- Used rectangles from the clothing DP for background layering, and embossed the check piece with a Darice Chevron EF.

Vintage

Happy Saturday and welcome to my effort at making a somewhat vintage card. Before sharing the card, let me say a warm welcome to Dawn -  http://www/designsbydragonfly.blogspot.com  -
& Roberta -  http://queenbeepapercrafts.blogspot.com/  2 new followers. Thanks so much for joining as followers.

Here goes:

- Rubbernecker stamp - Alexandra - colored with copics. I did several of these images last summer while chair-bound, trying different color combos on her attire. It was a fun image to color. Some months ago, while browsing our local Hobby Lobby, I came upon a set of papers in a small package..it's called Mixed Media (101) Fashion Plate Collage Pack. Remembered these images colored in the UFOs, so thought this paper might go well with the ladies.

Tulips

Good Morning & welcome. Here we are starting a new month. In South Carolina, August is usually one of the hottest months of the year. The air conditioning at our house has been running full bore & it will be lovely when we can open up the house once again.

This is another scheduled post, so here we go:

Collage

Good Morning. Back with another experimental play card this morning on this scheduled post. I've been seeing some lovely cards with collages on them lately, but don't have a clue as to where to start one. Had bits & pieces of this'n'that on my desk, so got out the Mod Podge glue to give it a go. Showed this one to Mr. DH and his first comment was "It doesn't look like you". Tried again "But do you like it?"...."No, not especially. It doesn't look like what you do".

Hmmm.... well, I promised that when I started this blog, I'd post warts & all...so maybe this one is a wart!

Bon Voyage

Hello Fellow Bloggers. It's nearly the weekend, and I'm ALWAYS ready for the weekend. Here's a quick card share for our best friend of nearly 50 years, who is taking a trip to Italy next month. I was invited along, but with the Achilles surgery recovery, I thought I might not be the fun-est of traveling companion. This was a tuff decision to say No, because Rome has been on my Bucket List ever since I read about Michaelangelo taking 4 years of lying on a scaffold to paint the Sistine Chapel's ceiling. So would love to see that. I made the right decision, based on my walking stamina. OK...I'll list the card specs; perhaps that may make it easier to see how I made this card.

Impression Obsession Cover a Card (CC015) - Gradation - stamped in Fluid Colorbox Chalk Creamy Beige
I.O. CAC (CC088) - Passport - stamped in Fluid C/box Chalk Deep Lagoon
Paper House Cardstock Stickers - STCX-0061 - Rome
Bon Voyage stamp - Michael's $1 bin - Deep Lagoon ink

I used the Acrylic Mega Mount block by Impression Obsession to mount the CAC stamps. I learned in classes with I.O. that when doing the multiple stamping with these CAC stamps for a background, to start with the lightest color, then darker. There's a good video at the I. O. website. I'm not great with using stickers, but when I saw this set, I knew exactly on what card I could use them. I used a S/Binder rectangle die to cut out the center of the cardstock front after stamping with the CAC's, embossing around the space (which doesn't show well here). I adhered a teal c/s piece (ah, those handy snippets!) underneath, then stuck the Rome sticker to that. The other stickers are places I know will get visited on the trip. Be back later with a few pictures of 'around the yard' photos. Thanks for dropping in this afternoon. Hugs.
