Christmas Card Club - Sleigh

Hi & welcome to another Christmas Card Club post; today our Maureen (Scrappymoi) wanted to see Sleighs. (Maureen is also the hostess for Rudolph Day, which will be opening on the 25th, and it's not too early to start on your Christmas card stash for 2016).

So let's get on to the Sleigh fun:

- Inkadinkadoo wooden stamp was inked up with Memento Cottage Ivy and then colored with Copics, Pentel Slicci gold pen, and some WoS.. S/B Decorative Labels 22 (S4-387) was used to die cut the image, then while still in the die, sponged some DI Shabby Shutters around the edge.

- Cheery Lyn DL103 - Italian Flourish cut from a textured & patterned red Christmas paper, adhered over CL Celtic Fire doily (DL109) cut in white. The white doily alone didn't give enough contrast with the image, so added the red layer between.

- Lawn Fawn sentiment die cut from the same red Christmas paper (2 layers) and Impression Obsession (DIE035-E) green tree (2 layers) from a snippet.

I love these Cheery Lyn doilies. However the Celtic Fire was a PITA to cut, even using the Sizzix Precision Plate, with many passes through the Big Shot. It did finally cut, but required a lot of painstaking poking out of the bits. It IS a very pretty die though. Usually the Precision Plate works great, so I shudder to think of how this die would have been had I not used the Plate. Italian Flourish cut just great.

My fellow club members' blogs are listed on the right sidebar, so I do hope you'll have time to go see what they have shared for today's Club Challenge!

Thanks for joining me today, and have a blessed Sunday. Big hugs.

Beautifully coordinated Mary, the oh so delicat doily dies carries the colours from the sleight and sentiment perfectly. Seeing this really should encourage me to get in Christmas mode early, but then I look at the DT working waiting to be done and so goes another day.

I know some of those dies at a big PITA but it was worth it. This card with the die cuts makes for a beautiful background for this lovely image. Thanks for also sharing the info yesterday on Medicare Scam. Enjoy your day.

Such a pretty sleigh, Mary! Your doilies look awesome and I can imagine the frustration getting out those tiny bits! It was worth the effort though. A gorgeous Christmas card!

Another beauty Mary. What a cute little image and your layering adds so much dimension. Love the red and greens. Glad you persevered with the die. I get frustrated when they don't work well, they usually end up in the trash! It really adds a great deal to the finished card!

Joy is right -- you could use a sleigh about now! This sleigh is mighty pretty Mary. You know the white part could be a Christmas plate!
You did keep the Christmas Countdown on your blog. I don't have a right and left column. I bet you could find smaller count downs.

Your sleigh card is great and perfect for the snow that fell on the east coast! Many could have used a sleigh to get around. I hope your snow is melted and gone now. We were lucky and only had some strong wind but it is gone now too. Stay warm and dry.

Hi Mary, beautiful card, love the sleigh image and your colouring, super embellishments too.
I hope you are not having this awful weather that is hitting the US just now, I thought I heard something about the Carolinas in the news, but my geography is so pants, you might be nowhere near it, nevertheless I hope you are well, Kate x

This is such a beautiful card Mary and I love the prettily coloured sleigh image sat on the CL die cut mats and the red and green theme works wonderfully and continues with the tree and sentiment as finishing touches. Our DS has been in the country for a few weeks but has just departed so am feeling a bit bereft at the moment and am finding it hard to fix my mind on card making but hopefully I will get back into it this week. x

That sleigh is so fab, and coloured perfectly too.
A wonderful doily selection you have mounted it on as well.
They all look so intricate.
Hope you are not affected by the snow.
Love and biggest hugs from my house to yours.

What a beautiful card Momma Mary! I love those doilies, but understand some are a pita to cut and clean out. It was well worth the effort though because they look amazing behind the sleigh image. Which is just darling and I love the way you colored it. The added tree and sentiment finishes off this beautiful card perfectly. Yay, I am playing along with Rudolph day!!! I hope to continue through the year so I have a nice stash by Dec. Hugs, Brenda

Those doily dies... it seems they either cut perfectly or make you weep to be alive, AND it changes from one to the next. Anyway, this is a lovely card and a great way to get the Christmas stash rolling. Your coloring is so perfect I thought that was a pre-printed card topper.

Beautiful card Mary. Your bear in the sleigh is so cute. Good job on the intricate die-cut. Those can really take a lot of time, but are so worth it. :) xx
