Hello, and it's good to see that Mr. Blogger will allow browsing to a computer file to insert images again. I was having to switch back & forth between Compose (which is the default when the page opens to create a new post) and HTML for adding an image. With Google, I had to hunt around for adding a link within the blog. That was becoming frustrating. Hope this stays fixed. Just wanted to say that DH seems to be feeling better from the 'virus problems' he developed on Thursday, but he's still feeling weakish. Thanks for the good wishes for his improvement.
Here's a Penny Black image (Hello Dear in Slapstick cling rubber), that I think is so adorable. I colored the image with copics and diecut with S/Binder Label 22, largest die in the set. Handtraced the outside of the die to get the green mat(a snippet). The blue trim is another snippet retrieved from collecting up a pile of 'stuff' that had accumulated on my diecut table. This was punched with a very old MS punch (it's one of the turquoise colors, so that's a clue as to its age). It was one of my very first punches, and still cuts well. Some of the newer, more expensive ones don't always! This was a punch purchased when Walmart still had a fairly good selection in the crafts section, and I believe I paid about $5 for it...non-sale. I got 2 of them, one is a lacey scallop, still a favorite punch. Ahem, I digress. The cardbase is a sort of terracotta color with some flecks in the paper. I was trying to complement the color of Mousie's pot ladder. Embossed this was Sizzix Raspberry Frame. Yellow grosgrain ribbon from a spool in the stash. (Sometimes in cleaning & organizing, you can find some good stuff! :-) ). No sentiment on the front as yet, but I'll label Birthday. Could be used for other occasions too. Have a grand afternoon, thanks for the visit & come back again when you have time.
Edit: I see there is still lots of fun going on over in the Playground, which I thought might be closed due to weather. I'll pop over & see if anybody is available at the slides or swings. Won't you join me?
It is an adorable stamp Mary, not seen that one but love it. Your card is beautiful and loving that MS punch, I have a slightly newer one in cream so it must still be a popular design. Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling card Mary! I love that stamped image and you did such a fabulous job coloring it as always!! I used to have that punch on the left side, but one day when I was using it, it got stuck and even the Mr. couldn't get it unstuck! So I had to pitch it which made me very sad, now I need to find another one to replace it. lol Such as life I guess. Hugs!! PS: Hope Joe is doing better my friend!
ReplyDeleteThis card is adorable. I love the way you colored it. It's hard to do tin cans, but you knocked it out of the ballpark. I'm still practicing...lol.
ReplyDeleteaww, this is such a sweet card! i have this stamp and i love it. your colouring is awesome, but since you asked, i use a paintbrush and DI pads to colour - there are already so many tutorials out there if you're interested.
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable card and image. TFS!
ReplyDeleteI love it! The background is a perfect compliment to the image - love that embossing file.
ReplyDeleteI've just popped over from pixie's place to say "hello!",

ReplyDeleteLovely card Mary, I have this stamp and I'm ashamed to say I've only used it the once! Hope your hubby is feeling better, lots of nasty germs going around right now. The weather doesn't help, it was -2F here last week at our coldest, this week it's 50F and pouring with rain!!

Yippee, Mary, thanks so much for sharing that the evil Blogger has heard the complaining and put the browse button back on. I had given up on checking and so I appreciate that you mentioned it. The other way was giving me fits, so, phew!
ReplyDeleteYour PB card is adorable! You are so excellent at coloring! I'm glad to hear that DH is feeling better.
What an adorable image! Beautifully presented!
ReplyDeleteI love the card, you coloured it up beautifully! At this time in my collection I dont have any Penny Black but I think I may have to add a few. Hope you have a great rest of the week!

Oh my gosh...I love the way you coloured that adorable image! Those mice look real...this is a fantastic stamp but I always so love all her images!
ReplyDeleteI have that punch and you are right it is a favourite...I like it as it is not too "girly" for masculine cards!
You sure do a grat job on the fussy cutting a mat. You have a very measuring eye. Little Miss C is learning how to fussy cut...I am going to help her do a blog post that she printed herself...(sometime this week I hope...I will alert you on my blog)
Hi Mary . . . cute and lovely card you have here. Beautifully coloured and embellished too.
ReplyDeleteSnow has gone from the Snippets Playground, and, er, there's a little gathering behind the bike sheds if you're interested. Got any of that SPECIAL Eggnog left? If so, bring it along.
