A Rose

Hi & welcome, appreciate you dropping by. This will be a scheduled post done prior to our trip, so by the time you read this, we hope to be in sunny warm South Florida.

Recently a friend lost her beloved husband, and we wanted to express our condolences. Here's the card:

- Image is by Stampendous (but until I looked at the manufacturer, I thought it was a PSX rose. I have one of those, but this one jumped in my hand). Stamped in Memento Gray Flannel, colored with copics using YR & R family colors. I was trying to replicate a pretty rose variety that we saw in the gardens at Hyde Park (FDR's home) many years ago. Used a BV000 and BV01 in places to darken & shadow outline.

- Sue Wilson Nobel Rectangle pierced die, sponged the edge with DI Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves.

- Bazzill textured pale lavender for the card base, scored edges with the Scor-Pal.

- Elizabeth Craft sentiment die, 2 layers of white snippets; colored both layers with WofLuna purple. That seemed too dark at first, so used WoS clear over that. That seemed to wash out the opaque Luna to nearly the shade of the cardbase, so just touched another layer of the Luna over it. Usually lose the 'eye dot', so a tiny white pearl colored with the same Luna is tucked atop the eye. The card has been sent on its way, and I hope the recipient will know we were thinking of her.

Ya'll enjoy the hustle and bustle that seems inevitable this time of year, and be safe & healthy. I'm hearing there plenty of cases of flu around. We recently were advised to get the super-duper pneumonia shot, even though we've had the 1st shot, then a booster some years later. Our doctor suggested this latest one might be good to get, so we did. Hope it works!

Thanks for coming, have a grand day. Blessings!

Hi Mary, What a beautiful card. I find Sympathy cards so hard to do.

Hope you are enjoying warming temperatures.

I get the Flu jab every year, due to being Diabetic. I had the Pneumonia one a few years ago. Was told unless I had a serious illness, I shouldn't need to have another.

Well you enjoy your day. Sue, Polly & Honey

This is beautiful Mary! I'm sure your friends found comfort with your caring and your card. It's so difficult to lose a loved one around the holidays. It helps to know that friends care. Love your coloring of the roses. Merry Christmas. May your holiday season be one of joyful celebration with family and friends.
