After the card was put together, I realized, the rainbow should have been on top, with the bucket of gold at the 'end of the rainbow'. Oh well........since I've never found/won any gold, I don't really know the proper rules I guess :-) (perhaps I should amend that: guess Mr, DD, my family & friends are my gold!)
The rainbow circle and shamrock letter square were in an Irish themed 6x6 paper pack purchased last year...just cut out, adhere. The rainbow has some fun foam to create dimension.
Pot of gold was a clear stamp, colored with copics, added some glossy accents to the gold coins...used a Pentel slicci gold pen for the pot handle.
A Hero Arts Infinity Rounded rectangle set cut out the little leprechaun, and his glasses and pipe have glossy accents. Used blue painter's tape around the edges so that the image could be shaded with some Distress Ink and took the ink inwards very lightly, because it looked just too white otherwise. The deckled rectangle under foot was a snippet left on the desk as was the fishtail sentiment.
A Darice Shamrock EF on the darker green layer, and a white card base was covered with a more yellow green shade (maybe this is called chartreuse? Michaels had a Recollections variegated green paper pack - good to pick up those packs on a 3 for $10 sale).
Just a heads up: On March 12, this blog will be 6 yrs old. You know what that means? Blog Candy! Will assemble some goodies, take pictures, and post in the sidebar. The usual rules will be:
(1)be a follower - (and please don't follow just for the candy if you don't intend to visit sometimes)
(2)Visit this blog between Mar 1 and Mar 12 and leave a comment
(3)winner will be selected by random generator using my data base followers' list and if that person has visited during the time period...that's the winner!
I'll put a sticky note with this info at the top of the posts until March 1 if I can remember how to do it!
In the meantime, thanks for coming by, and God Bless.
Such a fun card Mary, a super image and lots of great details - a fabulous embossed background.

Super card Mary, you do St Pats cards exceedingly well and have some super images, and as the song says 'Somewhere over the rainbow" there is a pot of gold, some lovely messages and a little Irish leprechaun. So they are over your rainbow.

What a fun card with the wearin' o the green! Love all the cute elements you added to this card, and especially the embossed background! Congrats on your blogaversary too! My 9th just passed earlier this month with little fanfare unfortunately :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet leprechaun image Mary and love that pretty green embossed background and love that bucket full of gold and the rainbow. I don't think I have ever managed to get to the end of the rainbow to find a pot of gold either Mary, more's the pity..lol. Thank you for providing some candy to celebrate your 6th blogaversary too, so lovely and generous of you. x
ReplyDeleteSix years!!! Does it feel like it's been that long? I'll have to look and see when I first started this adventure.
ReplyDeleteCUTE card and I love the design you used. The rainbow and pot of gold look just fine where they are. It's great and a cute card for the "green day".

Another really cute image, he looks like such fun. I think you did right with the pot of gold, it is out of reach which probably applies to most of us (apart from, as you say, family and friends of course). Wow, six years, congratulations! Hugs, Anne xx

Cute St. Paddy's card!! I have that leprechaun stamp also. It is a wood mount stamp from Inkadinkado. Congrats on your 6 years of blogging.
ReplyDeleteWow 6yrs congrats on that. The coloring on the little guy is just so nicely done! He looks so happy just makes you smile too! Nice shading around him too.
ReplyDeleteWow, six years is fantastic. i had to go back and see when I started and it will be five years this Sept. You were one of my first comments! Blogs bring great friendships and I consider you one of mine. Your card is so cute. I am just starting to cut up papers for images and found there are things called cut-a-parts that come with card packs. I love how you used these on your card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great St Patricks day card Mary!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant card Mary, super image and gorgeous colouring. Well done you on your six years of blogging, hope you are well, Kate x x
ReplyDeleteSuch fun card with that leprechaun and all the lucky symbols! :D I think that the pot of gold looks great here when it is, perhaps in the time the rules has been changed :D LOL Love the bright green, it remembers me Spring and I dream it... Here there is a bunch of snow, even on the seaside... We aren't used to this fact! :( So schools are closed. It means that I have some time for me, also for crafting! Yay!! This is my today's pot of gold :D
ReplyDeleteHugs
This is a cute card, Mary. I think the rainbow and pot of gold are just fine where they are. You're right about family being our gold! Your card is excellently colored as always. Six years of blogging - how wonderful! I feel blessed to have you as a friend.
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration for me to get busy making some St. Patrick's cards too. I might try one later today and see what develops. Depends on how much time I have. For some reason a few household chores need doing first. Bummer! But keep inspiring me as this is a great card even if the rainbow is at the bottom. I don't think anyone would have noticed if you had not mentioned it.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute St. Patty's Day card. That little guy is adorable and I especially love the way you distressed the brown in towards him. Really nice touch!
ReplyDeleteI love this little guy...Such a great card Mary xx
ReplyDeleteThis is so darned cute, Mary! I always love the elements you add to embellish your artwork. I've always admired your coloring too. Such a fun card!

ReplyDeleteA very fun card, Mary! I don't make any St. Patrick's day cards so I really enjoy seeing them! The little leprechaun is adorable! Congrats on your 6th blogiversary celebration! Woohoo! An awesome reason to celebrate, and I'm super excited about winning your candy!
ReplyDeleteWearing the Green Everyone is Irish . Really cute card ..........Lis
ReplyDeleteGreat card Mary, love the little cheerful chappie.
ReplyDeleteGood golly Miss Molly I was way behind in commenting! I think this one will catch me all up once again. lol I am in love with this card! It is so cute, loving the cute images and the way you have colored them. The "love" and the rainbow are so cute and perfect. And I don't think it matters where the rainbow goes on the card. Yes, we all have many "pots of gold" by having family-I so agree! Hugs, Brenda
