Here's today's card, and then will share some of the pictures I snapped this morning.
- S/B Oval Bliss die
- Sweet Cuts elegant Leaves die flourish cut from a snippet of green, as was the Elizabeth Craft Hello. That was cut from snippets of the same green, top layer was a white snippet, and colored with a copic. Added Glossy Accents later, so it has a nice little shine.
- EK Success punch for top border; SU flower punch made the flower, which was cut from snippets of the paper that is on the front of the card. A YR copic edged the curled blossoms.
- 6x6 paper Graphic 45 pack- front & back of the same sheet, cut 5.5x4.75, then cut from corner to corner. Remaining pieces of that sheet worked for the border punch and the flower.
Here's the ice pictures from around our house this morning.
Was able to step out on the front porch to take these snaps. Tried to take some of the bird feeder & its icycles, but the kitchen window screen blurs the closeup photo, so trashed those. If I'd gone out to the back porch to get a shot, there's screening there as well, and no way was I chancing walking down steps and into the snowy- probably icy too - grass to get a better angle. Learned my lesson about black ice a couple years ago!
Hope you're staying cozy & warm. Compared to what some of the states are getting, this is nothing...but it's Big Deal for our area!! Lots of power outages according to the news. Not much traffic on the road in front of our house today, but some brave souls did venture out. Glad we didn't have to!
Thanks for surfing in, big Hugs!
Love your card Mary, the image is so cute and that die is beautiful. Fabulous photos too, would love to have that much here too. Carol x

ReplyDeleteA sweet cute card Mary. And OMG Mary how cold is it with you, we haven't had it that cold!!! We have had a beautiful sunny day here. You photos are great it does look lovely. Thank you for your lovely comment on Gillians cats, oh yes she is very crafty and is very good at art, I have some fabulous drawings etc in the house by her. I will pass on your comment, Keep warm a thermos kept full of boiling water might be a good thing, unless you have ways to heat water ok. Hazel x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and stunning photo's you are right to keep off the ice though x Hilda

ReplyDeleteLove your card. The elephant is so cute.... don't you just want to pick him up and hug him??? Thanks for sharing your snowy photos. No snow here, just scraping the ice off the car windows first thing in the morning. xx
ReplyDeleteHi there Mary, hope you are well and managing to keep warm and snug during this cold spell you're having over there. Such a cute card and a very sweet image. Love the oval die-cut, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe have had snow here for three weeks now and it has only just gone, thank goodness, looks very pretty but it is so disruptive to everyday life. This last week it has been very icy. So glad it has gone. All good wishes to you.
Hugs Jennifer xx

I love your little elephant and you have coloured him so beautifully. I am so glad I don´t have to face the ice and snow, but your views are very pretty. you are wise to stay off the black ice! Keep warm and safe. Kate x
ReplyDeleteMary, your elephant with a bouquet of daisies is so darling! I love the embossing! Thank you for sharing your incredible ice-covered winter wonderland! I'm so glad you didn't step out onto the porch!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteYour little elephant is so cute! What an adorable card! I enjoyed looking at your photos too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful card of hope for Springs arrival. Nice! We haven't dealt with much of that kind of weather this year but the cold has been bone chilling and some of the windy days were in the 50 to 60 MPH area. BRR! Stay warm and safe. - Jim
ReplyDeleteOh WOW! You got SNOW! How neat and it really is pretty with all that ice too. Definitely STAY INSIDE! Love the pictures though.

Your card is adorable!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a lot of ice...as Jim said in a comment above me...so far, not as much ice...but Our share of cold and snow..
What an adorable image and cute card!
ReplyDeleteBut your icy pictures stole the show. I did not realize you got weather like that. I will have to google about your area to see more!
Take care and you sound well versed in the safety factor of dealing with ice!!!
Mary, Loving the card. The image is so cute.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see the snow, but not nice to go out in it, especially with so much ice.
Hope you keep your power. You keep safe and warm. Sue
Mary those photos are so inviting to me...love snow and the icicles look fantastic...you are really lucky to be able to experience the wonderful weather of snow. I know it can be a pain from what I have heard but only to have it for one winter would suit me....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and gorgeous colours used on the sweet image.xxx
{The Journey is the Start – my personal blog}
Aww that elephant is adorable!! Such a gorgeous card!!
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty snowy pics too :-)

This is the cutest elephant and he comes with flowers, what could be better than that? I love the diagonal papers and your dies are also so very pretty. Wow your ice and snow are really something beautiful. So glad you didn't venture out and take that chance of getting hurt. About three weeks ago I slipped on ice and gave myself a concussion as well as several gashes on my hands. Not fun. So you are smart to view from afar. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteAn adorable card! Love this elephant with her pink nails and daisies! Pretty pictures too. We didn't have much melting yesterday. Hopefully today will get the ice off the roads. And they're predicting a possibility of snow flurries this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little elephant and aren't those flowers just gorgeous? The flowers and leaves are the perfect finishing touch. Thanks for sharing your photos too - it looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love your PB elephant Mary, and all the lovely die cuts you have used including the pretty SB die which I haven't seen before, and also the MS border die. Beautiful colour combination too. Sorry you have had some snow to deal with but your photos are great. Why is it snow looks so wonderful but is so unpleasant to go out in ..lol. Take care. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card Mary, such a cute ellie!! Thanks ever so for sharing your pretty pictures with us...brrrrrr!! Stay cosy!! xx
ReplyDeleteLove your card!! BRRRRRRRR!! Love your pictures but give me the warm weather
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute card. You have the best S/B dies. This Oval Bliss is so pretty. We had a little snow and severe cold but no ice. Your view is beautiful but ice causes so much trouble on the roads and sometimes people lose heat. Glad you are in and safe and warm.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little "elephe-nant" as my DGD used to call them! I love that die you placed him upon too! Great photos of the unexpected ice you folks got! The trees look lovely! Stay warm inside until it all melts!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is as always so very cute and darling, Mary!!! Love that sweet little ellie with his lovely bunch of flowers!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your snow photo's - absolutely amazing and sooooo beautiful!!! Oh, we would love it to snow here in George, but unfortunately that doesn't happen here!!!! Stay warm and cosy!!!
Hugz

Simply Paper Card Design
Great photo's, looks really cold, brrrr
Such a cute card Momma Mary!!! I love that cute elephant with his bouquet of flowers. So cute! I also love the mat you have him on, so cool looking! And the flower and leaves...OMGosh I love them! Great color combo too. I'm so glad you didn't have to go out in that mess. It is beautiful looking, but so dangerous as well. Ice pulls down electric lines, causes accidents, etc...So I'm very happy that you stayed in!! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteGosh Mary I know it must be cold but those pictures of the snow look awesome, those trees look really beautiful, talking of beautiful I totally love your wonderful card that is one adorable image, the colours and design are excellent,

Mary, your card is just adorable with that cute elepant. I love that punched flower you made. What a great way to say hello to someone.
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrrr...looks just like my area a couple days ago. I certainly am careful now after my feet flew out from under me at my neighbor's house some years back. The deck was very icy. Thanks for sharing your photos. I just love how icy trees glisten in the sun.
Cute card and adorable image Mary!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Hazel x
Today we finally got a glimpse of the sun and the day felt like one of those days I love which leaves you with that 'it'll soon be spring' kind of feel... I've been down with a terrible cold for a whole week and my internet and crafting time have been very limited, and today was the first time I stepped outside for a whole week! Phew, that felt good!
ReplyDeleteEnough babble, I'm here to say that I think your card looks totally adorable:)
Beautiful photos...just beautiful. Wish we had snow where I lived, so pretty. Your card is just so pretty, love your adorable little elephant!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, I love elephants and he is so cute wonderful colours too.

You keep cosy, hugs Kate x
