Good evening, and thanks for coming by. We are currently having a little rain & thunder storm, and so hoping it will cool off our temperatures of the past 2 weeks. Our area is under a thunderstorm alert just now, but so far, we've only had some rumbles & rain.
June 2015's Rudolph Day opened yesterday, and here is the card I'm going to submit. The image has been colored for a few days, just had to decide on papers. Here we go:
- Wild Rose clear image stamped with Tudexo Black, so that it could be colored with Copics - also used Copic X-Press paper. Once colored, it was die cut with the S/B Gold Label 4. Although the photo doesn't show well, there is a light blue background with silver snowflakes falling. This one was very easy to color.
- DP from 6x6 packs - VOS. Used an Avery Elle double stitch die to cut the curved border. Added some double side tape over the join, with the idea of adding some Ritz Red micro glitter. After seeing the results, I wish I had just left the stitchy edges showing. The tape did not curve well, and even though it was burnished, the glitter sheen just didn't gleam as nicely as it should have. Also the tape is rather old, so don't know if that contributed to the lack of sheen.
- Elizabeth Craft die sentiment, cut from 2 white snippets. Colored both layers, glued, then applied clear WoS over the surface. Other than the tape & glitter disappointment, an easy card.
Be sure to check out all the inspiration cards that are already linked over at June's Rudolph Day Challenge, which is open until the end of the month. There's a nice stamp set as the prize this month.
Have a super weekend, and come again when you can. Big hugs.

ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeletewhat a super Rudolf creation.
I love that stamped image of the bird house, and it's coloured so perfectly.
Great papers used on it too.
I do hope the thunder storms don't amount to too much for you.
Love and biggest hugs from my house to yours.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
This is a beautiful card Mary and a pretty WRS image with some lovely colouring and shown off to its best advantage by that SB ornate oval die, and the bp's and the die cut sentiment finish it perfectly. As your weather is cooling a bit it would appear ours will be hotting up considerably and jumping from the 60's to the 80's F within the next few days so will need to dust off our electric fans ..lol. Have a lovely weekend Mary. x
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty birdhouse, Mary, and I love the red bird and bright flowers! Pretty paper too! Hope the air is cooler and more enjoyable today!

Funnily on first view I saw a spring/summer card rather than a Christmas card, then the holly and snow dawned on me! A great card Mary and an unusual mix of the flowers with the winter foliage. x
