This cute DeeDee's digi had been printed for a while, and finally I took a couple of evenings to finish up this card with it. Once I got in gear, the card didn't take long to put together.
First, let me share something wonderful that is happening. Happy Little Stampers is starting a new Christmas Challenge next month. (along with the existing Sketch Challenge, there will also be a CAS Challenge.) I am excited to have been asked to be part of the Christmas Challenge DT which will be coming in July. So please take some time to check out these challenges, enjoy the DT's inspiration cards for each - and perhaps take time to join in.
Now on to the card:
DeeDee's Life's a Beach pre-colored digi was die cut with an MFT stitched circle. Shaded with some Hero Arts Pool while still in the die, using a finger dauber. S/B scalloped circle was cut from a white snippet and colored with Memento Daffodil and a round Ranger sponge tool. WoS pink used on Miss Piggy's bathing suit, and extra WoS to color the flower bow, and the waves around her yellow float.
- Various small dies cut all the embellishments from more white snippets which were colored with copics. Used some stickles on the turtle & sea horses. Used Opal Liquid Pearls on the shells, and spread it with my finger to get a bit of gloss to the shells. Sailboat hull had some glossy accents spread to make the hull glisten.
After all was added, then I wondered if it was 'too over the top'. ....Nah, Miss Piggy would enjoy watching all these things if she were floating on the waves at the beach!!!
The background is a Brusho piece, embossed with a Darice waves folder. This was made earlier, and looked a lot like water to me, and after embossing, thought it was perfect for this card.
There's some really cute sentiments included with this fun digi set, but for this one, the sentiment will go inside.
The current DeeDee's June Challenge is featuring another warm weather set which you can find HERE . It's called Diver Daniel, and is just so cute.
Thanks for joining me this evening. It's been over 100F for the past 2 days here in our part of Upstate South Carolina. So if we're not running errands, we try to do 'inside' stuff, or do the 'outside stuff' very late in the evening. So keep cool where you may be, and come again, when you have time to chat. Blessings & Hugs.

ReplyDeleteThank You~
She is too stinkin cute. And all those dies are fantastic. I hope your mojo comes back soon, but if this is what you create without mojo, I think you're doing just fine mojo-wise.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and fun card Mary - yes, I know about life getting in the way!! How about we swap some of our cold and wet for your warmth ;-)

ReplyDeleteThat piggie is just adorable. And is going to have lots of summer fun with all the things planned or dreaming of. Great card. I am MIA too as I'm getting ready for Girl Scout day camp and a garage sale. Way too much to do right now. Take care!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little piggy Mary floating in what we call a 'rubber ring' and love all the extra embellishments with the shells and the turtle and seahorses, and that super background with the embossed waves is perfect. Congratulations on making the HLS Christmas Design Team too. Our weather has been much better over the past week or two with a lot more sun but although sunny today there is a cold and blustery wind which rather spoils it, but I would find 100F difficult to deal with too so something in between the two would be good. You can see how difficult to please I am ..lol. x
ReplyDeleteMiss Piggy looks very happy floating on the water! Hope they're aren't any sharks in those waters! I think your mojo has found it's way back! Hope you are staying cool. Hugs & smiles.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that you were chosen to be on the DT at Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge Momma Mary! Of course they have chosen one of the best to be on their team. I will check out these challenges, as I have not been getting crafty either. Too much life stuff going on and then there are my ribs that I'm letting heal. Who knew card making could be so dangerous. lol Love, love, love this cute card! That pig cracks me up, she is so cute floating along in the water. I love all the cool ocean things you have on this card and I love your background and that embossing folder! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, sounds like you have been a busy girl!! Love your card, I have a real fondness for pigs and actually have a dresser full of them in various forms (never any real ones...sadly!!). The idea of a swimming pig in a costume made me smile!! xx
