Good evening again, after another very hot day. Thank Heavens for air conditioning. We're still hibernating in the coolth, unless we have errands. I've been trying to finish up some cards that were UFO's and here's another one. This beautiful card by Kate sent me on the hunt for this lovely Altenew Vintage Roses stamp. The Misti came in quite handy for doing these layered roses, but I still need a bit of practice!
- Altenew layered roses were inked with Memento shades of pink, and the leaves with Memento greens.
- Sue Wilson die used for the sentiment.
- Sizzix corner rose embossing... and that's it.
I didn't get the leaves placed as well as I would have desired, but I still liked the card. This is a nifty stamp set, so thanks Kate for the inspiration of your gorgeous card.
Thanks for popping by to visit and come again when you can. In the meantime - stay cool if you're in the heat, warm if it's cold where you live, and Big hugs from me.
Hi Mary, your rose card is very pretty. I like the embossed roses and the lovely sentiment stamp as well.
ReplyDeleteI have just bought some of these stamps too, but I only had a quick practice when they arrived. I haven't made anything with them yet.

Your roses are just beautiful. I think you did a great job. I really like the font used on your Thank You. You need to stay inside if it is still so hot. I just don't do heat anymore. I will be inside too!

What a pretty card! The embossing in the corners matches perfectly with image. xx
ReplyDeleteHello Mary, this is the most gorgeous card with the beautiful flower displayed....I love flowers and should use them more...in regards the candy, put your name down as I will post world wide...cheers, aNNIe xxx
ReplyDeleteLove your colours on this beautiful card Mary - The roses are beautiful :-), and I love the diecut you used for the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
How beautiful! I love these roses- and the pretty sentiment panel with the inking up to the edge. I am going to try making a tool like the one you used for your stamping.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh...so pretty! I always love roses as my Mum's name is Rose!
ReplyDeleteThese ones are so pretty and love your pretty design too.
Thanks for the kind comments on the garden and house. It is teensy and the house is smaller than we are used to...but we love it! Love the short bursts of time it will take to maintain. Soon as I figure out what extra plants I need, then we will put black bark mulch down in the bigger double tiered bed.
The lawns has been so very disappointing as we got chafer beetles and they killed off so much of it. We have treated for them and they seem to be gone, so once we are sure they are good and dead, we will returf next spring. Think we will get auto sprinklers installed at the same time...might as well as they will have the lawn torn apart, be bringing in new topsoil etc anyway.
Hope you are staying cool.
Hello Mary, love, love, love your stunning card.
ReplyDeleteI use StampiUp Stippled Blossom Stamp Set which give a similar effect.
I love the effects they give.
Your Roses are beautiful, love it all.

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fab Friday. Sue
As always a super make Mary, roses are such beautiful flowers, I am still a fan of the older varieties with their lovely aromas, so many of the new ones are lacking in that department.
ReplyDeleteYou can send a little of that warmth this way, it's warmer than it was but so cloudy and struggling to reach the 20's, here we ate well into June adn I've not got a summer dress out as yet.
Hope you have a good weekend.

Great card, do love the effect you can get with those roses so realistic.
ReplyDeleteSend a little of your warmth over this way please don't want any of your humidity though. We are shivering here winter has come in very early this year July and August are usually our worse months but we have had snow on the mountain for a few weeks now. Lovely and warm in the home that Fred is in think I should move in too!!!!
Hugs

ReplyDeleteOooh, these are pretty roses, Mary! Love the play of colors! And that's the perfect embossing folder! It's been hot here too but we've had rain the past couple of evenings. That helps. We had 3" of rain last night. It was a gully washer!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Mary!
ReplyDeleteI saw my first submarine coming into the channel to the submarine base in Southern Georgia yesterday - we went to our favorite watering hole on the beech for a nice cold beer and my husband spotted it. Really something - gave me cold chills. It was being escorted by what they call a tender - I call it a war ship! The channel that leads to the base is right up the beach from us.
Sad day for our country and South Carolina yesterday. My husband's father and his side of the family come from Charleston.
See you around!
Sandy xx
I think this is a fabulous job. Love how you embossed the background with the roses - very clever. Your coloring looks awesome and that sentiment is the perfect font to go along with this beauty.
ReplyDeleteBoth your stamped and embossed roses are so beautiful, Mary!!! Love the soft pinks you've added!!! Such a stylish, femine and elegant card!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for my MISTI to arrive!!!!

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteoh what a very beautiful creation.
I love your design, as I did With Kate's design.
That rose stamps are wonderful, and a great asset to one stash.
Love and biggest hugs from my house to yours.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Well done Mary. I think you have mastered using the stamps very well. I actually think they look better if they are not aligned too precisely. Of course they need to be more accurate if you are using the matching die. My die set has finally arrived, but I won´t have time to play with it until I come home from my holiday mid-July.
ReplyDeleteYour while card is lovely. The mebossing, stamping and sentiment all come together so well. Kate x
