Andrea W of Savvy Handmade Cards and Mary S. of Thyme to Create. Thanks so much for joining me here to share in cards & my little adventures. Do please take time to visit my new friends, enjoy their inspiration, and say a big Hi.
Next: I did get the lost Drivers License replaced. After searching our files for all the documents that I had been told the local Division of Motor Vehicles would require as proof of who I was, happily found I didn't need anything but my name and address! The receptionist found me in the system, I had to sign an official affidavit that the license had been lost...and Voila. Processing began. Instread of just replacing the license, since mine was expiring next year in my birth month, the officials suggested that I take the eye test and renew it.
Then right after that, was running errands, and got rear-ended. (good thing I had the DLicense replaced)! Thankfully no one was hurt, minimal damage, just a bit of insurance & official paperwork to handle. So finally the post-trip and all the barney that goes with being away for a few days, got settled around, and here I am!
- Our Daily Bread image, colored with copics. Started with some light YR (orange tones) shades, then overlaid with some of the pink (R) tones. Stamped the image twice, and handcut a couple of the roses to shape and adhere for some dimension. Hard to see in the photo. This was an ODBD image purchased at Stampaway.
- S/B Classic oval die cut the aperture and then a Darice folder from a Stampaway vendor was inked with Memento Morrocco pad, then embossed.
- used copics in green shades to ink a narrow green ribbon to sort of complement the greens used on the rose leave, and a tiny left-over heart from a spraying project was tucked on the frame.
- Die sentiment was from a new Impression Obsession Die (show purchase, not stored yet), that says "Happy Mother's Day". White snippets, 2 layers, colored with YG copics. The stamped portion of the sentiment is a new set from HLS Bold Birthday Sentiments. And if you follow the link, there is presently a discount code available, and Kylie has free worldwide shipping. This is a very high quality transparent set, and am very pleased to say that my first use of this set, resulted in a very happy outcome. The order was placed just prior to our trip, and Oh Happy Day, was waiting in the mail when we got home. So do yourself a favor and check out this set. There are several others available. I also purchased the nice Mixed Christmas Sentiments set, which you'll see used later. I'm drooling over some of the other new releases too! I think the sentiment sets are going to be so versatile.
Ok, I'll share a few trip photos...hope I don't bore you to tears...Thanks for stopping by, and hope to get back with some more cards to share in the next few days. Big Hugs.

When people hear Southerners talk about their pickup trucks, I'm sure most envision gun racks in the rear window, huge tires for mudding, etc. So I thought I'd share a picture of how we travel. This F150 is without a doubt, the nicest & most comfortable vehicle we've owned yet. It is heavy enough to ride smoothly and has a very nice interior. Also it has a roll top cover over the bed, that can be locked. Just so ya know, we're not really 'Rednecks' ...LOL! Will share more of the scenic photos in later posts. The photos at the stamp show were made with the Smart phone - and remember, we're not very good with those yet. We're taking a class on 8/26 with our provider. Bye Bye
Hi Mary, what a bummer about getting hit from the rear, but as long as no one got hurt.
ReplyDeleteAlistair has to reapply for his driving licence as he will be 70 later this year. I believe this is a new sort of thing, but It's only safe and right, he doesn't have to go through a test, which is good.
Your card is just lovely, my sort of colours.
More fab photos, hugs Kate x

Lovley work on your creation, great layout, I am not an orange person, I keep hoping I will change ... But not yet. Have an excess of orange card and hardly ever use it.. I don't buy it but comes in sets etc. however you may say it is not orange just looks that way, oh do have orange roses in real life they're ok :)
God bless and continue to keep you safe dear friend, Shaz in oz.x

ReplyDeleteI wondered where you had been!! What fun. Glad you've got everything sorted out with the licence and then the "bump". Funny how things happen. Looks like you had fun at Stampaway. Already putting purchases to use! Beautiful card Mary, lots of dimension with the popped up roses and the gorgeous embossing folder. Great colors too.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, Pretty roses and I love the inked embossing. I never had very good luck doing that. Maybe I need to try again. Loved seeing photos from your trip. And I'm so glad to know that they give classes for smart phone use as we're going to have to go to that. I hope we can take the class more than once! We need to go for another class with our new vehicle! Our dear Thomas made some changes and we're not sure how to get it back where it was!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your accident!

Nice photos, made me wish I was there, along with your little stories from the trip. Good to hear the drivers license replacement wasn't too difficult after all.
ReplyDeleteA very classy design. The embossed background is quite impressive and suits your image so well...
Another pretty card Mary, those roses are just lovely and love your background, all beautifully put together.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your up and down day, but at least you weren't hurt and things were sorted. Great photos at Stampaway, I have seen Tim Holtz on TV and he seems like a lovely chap, I suppose he could have been very standoffish and refused your request of a photo so glad you had the "honour".
Nothing wrong with being a redneck LOL
ReplyDeleteYour trip sound wonderful and I am jealous of the stamp fest you attended That is what happens when you live in the boon docks ..,,,,far from these things.............. Now that card is just beautiful isn't scheduling magic?

Back home you are and back to making your wonderful cards.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you were rear ended as if your truck would not be big enough for someone to see!
I guess you are a celebrity now that you have a picture with Lord Tim.
Life goes on here on the coast - now don't faint - I actually posted a card and a journal page a few days ago. I am afraid I am getting fat and lazy and would prefer to spend time laying around reading one of my
Anne Perry novels.
Take care!
Sandy xx
Welcome home! Love all your wonderful photos and your card is just so beautiful. Love the roses.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you home again and blogging Mary - your tale about your license reminds me I need to renew mine this year (as well as get my superannuation card) :-).
