Hello again & welcome. Another pink Valentine, from an afternoon of play with Lindys Magical powder, Ranger Transparent paste, some liquitex Gel medium (which thins out the paste and I've not been adding water spritzes), with some glimmer sprays over the background once it's dried a bit. Usually will be made from either watercolor weight paper or Canson 98# (or 100#) mixed media paper. Cardstock weight paper does not work as well, and especially if you plan to do any later embossing. Needs the heavier weight paper to work well with the moisture in the other products. I've learned that if adding water spritzing, use a very light hand too. Sometimes I'll add in some Dylusions spray, Tattered Angels or some similar shimmery spray of that sort. Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays are fun to add in the experiment as well. If planning to use the 'paste mixture' with a stencil, better to keep it less liquid, but if smooshing or painting a card surface, thinner mixture works better. Mainly it's just about having fun and seeing what happens. It's always magical.
MBox Ferrand Heart die to cut the motif from created card stock.
Adhered die cut to Canson 98# mixed media white card stock which had been embossed with a woodgrain EF. Placed a piece of white memory foam behind this piece for some dimension, and adhered to white side fold card base.
- Cheery Lyn Valentine die sentiment from the same background piece. Happy die came from a Happy Birthday set (think it was a Memory Box die). I thought the flourish font style looked ok together.
- Used a tiny punch to get some itty bitty hearts for trim. (actually the heart on the lower right is covering a place where the outline of the heart tore, had to be reglued. You could just barely see where it fit, so Voila, a tiny heart rescued. Added a few more around, just because I could, AND it looked more like it was planned!)
By the way, I'm not pushing websites when I link to a product. This is just to show what the die or product looks like. Just sayin'.
Another easy card to do. Come again when you have time. Blessings & Hugs.

Oh! a beautiful card Mary, a perfect Valentines Day. I can't see the embossing or shine, however I can imagine the shimmer of this on the embossing will be fabulous. The curls on the heart match beautifully with the shape of the heart. Love it.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Mary -- I am not a maker of Valentine Day cards -- don't know why but the lovey dovey thing is a little too sugary for me!!

This is stunning Mary. I love getting this kind of flowers on Valentine's... they last forever!!! Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging comment on my blog. You picked my least favorite creation so it was refreshing to hear your take on it. My blog reply button doesn't work - errrrr!!! But I wanted to tell you - we are mutual admirers because I absolutely cannot make cards. I have done a few and they were pretty but you would laugh if you knew how long it took me!! But ohhhh how I love looking at card creations and admiring all you gals that do it so beautifully. LIKE THIS ONE - it's just PERFECT for the occasion. XXj.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Valentine's card. It's interesting what the different weight papers are for and what products work best on what papers.
The valentine die and Happy die work very well together. I would have thought they were an entire set.
Have a GREAT weekend!!
Hugs,
Kay
Fantastic Mary, love that die.
ReplyDeleteKath x
That's a great shade of pink. Looks like some nice shimmery dimensional texture on your card. Playing around and seeing what comes out is half the fun sometimes.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. Love all the products you use to get the beautiful colour, texture and shimmer. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card! So beautiful! Xoxo Olga
ReplyDeleteGreat card Mary, very elegant.
ReplyDeleteSo delicate and pretty, Mary ... the shimmer is fabulous! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, I am so loving this card Momma Mary! That die is amazing and so pretty. I love that you linked to where you can find it, cause sometimes I will want a die, but can't find it. That background you made is fabulous, love the pinks in it and the shimmer. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteVery nice color effect on the flower die cut, a versatile design, with his sentiment it's definitely very valentinish, but this design with another sentiment would be perfect for whatever occasion.
