Good evening - finishing up the Easter cards, only have one more to make... for DH. Here's the one sent today to the daughter, and it's from a Sparkle n Sprinkle Bunnies & Bows rubber set purchased some years ago.
This was very easy to color with copics. Used cool grays, with just a slight touch of BG0000 over the gray...only at the edges to create some shadows. Diamond Stickles were added on the tutu and spread with my finger. Had already used WoS, but that didn't really shine quite as much as I wanted.
- die cut with a S/B Deckled Oval - which has been retired evidently. Edged with Victorian Velvet while still in the die, lightly smoothed BG0000 around to create a background, and a bit of gray under her feet to ground the image.
- Sue Wilson Greek Collection Kefalonia die used to make the dark rose pink mat from glittered paper (inner area was removed to use another time.)
- Hot Pink card base (found in the sorting, and it only needed to be scored)...was covered with an embossed vellum piece - tones down the hot pink nicely (EF Dots folder for the vellum). Added borders top & bottom from a snippet that had been embossed, and part of the piece had cut too deeply. The top & bottom were fine, so trimmed off and created borders, as the vellum wasn't just quite long enough at the bottom edge! LOL.
When DD was a pre-teen, everything had to be pink. Then it went to purple...This must be something all teenage girls go through. She's outgrown that phase - don't think she's got anything pink or purple these days.
Added a new card to the Cards by Friends page, and will be adding another pretty one that came in today. Hope you have time to check it out. In the meantime, still working on the re-organization - some days I think I'm making progress. Some days methinks I'm only moving stuff from here to there. But as the saying goes, it 'keeps me off the streets & outta the bars'. Any of you ever heard that before???
Have a great day! Come back when you can, and I'll promise to do the same. Hugs & Prayers to those in need of same.
This is a beautiful. Love the cute image.

ReplyDeleteAnother beauty Mary, that was such a good idea to use vellum to tone down the base pink - I will try to remember that tip! The image is adorable and as always, you have coloured it beautifully! Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend, we are having visitors so I expect I will be quiet for a few days! Hugs, Anne xx

She will get a kick out of this ballerina bunny card. That is a darling image and you did it justice. Purple was always my favorite color as a kid too and both my granddaughters have gone through the purple stage as well. I don't own anything in purple now.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteYour card is soooooo delicious!! Surely it will be very appreciated by your daughter!!! Love very much that supercute rabbit with the tutu, she is so sweet!! A gorgous design with the Kefalonia die, it frames pefectly the bunny and the purple matches very well with the pink!!! ReplyDeleteThis ballerina bunny is adorable, Mary! I love how you've framed her! And of course I'm in awe of your Copic coloring! The organization may keep you "off the streets and out of the bars". It can sure drive you to drink though!
ReplyDeleteShe's the sweetest image. What a lovely card this is Mary. Have a very Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteI find re-organising doesn't work too well for me these days. I forget the places I put things.Hope you have better luck!
Have a lovely Easter. Barbxx
I love this cute ballerina bunny Mary and I'm sure DD will love it too. The deckle oval and the SW die frame her beautifully and a great idea to use the embossed vellum. Reorganising is always a frustrating affair as it always looks worse before it gets better so don't despair. Hope you have a good Easter. x
ReplyDeleteAdorable image, Mary and your coloring is just fantastic! Love the highlights and the perfect blending! I'm sure your daughter will LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteOH! Mary I LOVE the image, it's beautifully coloured, beautiful frame making a beautiful card. So glad to hear you're still on the reorganising track AND using some of the stash too.
ReplyDeleteHave a Wonderful Easter.

Love the wonderful oval frame, and the pink is so pretty.
I think you DD is going to love this wonderful Easter creation.
Love and big crafty hugs from my house to yours. Jenny L.
Well this is a first, a Bunny Ballerina, what a fun image and a great design and very pretty in pink. Would have thought the Bunny would have been more at home 'At the Hop' - Danny and the Juniors, way back when.

AWWAH...... Ballet Bunny this is very sweet .Lis
ReplyDeleteAdorable card, Mary. That ballerina bunny is so cute! Love the die cut you used too. Haven't been at my desk much this week but did manage to get my Easter cards out today. Otherwise I've been mostly in bed fighting off this flu. Can't figure out why I've been getting sick since I quit working. Hope your week is going well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your lovely comment on my card. I really love this. Fortunately I haven't outgrown my love of purple. It's my favorite color. Such a cute image and your coloring is amazing. Love the purple glittery mat. Hope you have a wonderful holiday.
ReplyDeleteI have heard the first part of that saying but with the second half it really makes me laugh! So just keep pushing your stuff around, that's definitely safer than being on the streets or in the bars and maybe slowly your space will be organized without you noticing!
ReplyDeleteThat ballerina bunny is so cute and the card you made with it really pretty!
Happy Easter!
Awww, this is such a precious Easter card for the kid Momma Mary! I love the bunny in her tutu. Also love the way you color her as well. That mat is so pretty and works so perfectly with this sweet little bunny. Believe it or not, but boys can go through a pink and purple stage as well!! Evan was into purple and Bret loved pink for a good while! lol And yep, I have heard of that saying before-we say that too! lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteLove the cute bunny in her tutu and great glittery frame

Very sweet image Mary. Love the soft colours of your copic colouring. Always nice to add a bit of sparkle. I'm sure Dana will love this card. Happy Easter!! xx
ReplyDeleteA totally adorable image, and with the sparkly tutu I can see how you would chose pink for this card for additional sweetness:)
ReplyDeleteLOL I must still be a teenager! Pink is still my favorite color with purple a close second. Your card is darling! I especially like the monochromatic color scheme. Such a sweet card! Hugs, de
