Happy Halloween Punkin Pair
Good morning and welcome to a scheduled post. Trying to get some things caught up. I made a few Halloween cards - alas, never got time to do the inserts in time for timely mailing. I have become the Excuse Lady, sorry! Last week we spent a couple days helping #1 brother clean out a utility room. (Mostly his help was when we showed him the stuff, he'd say "pitch it" and some of the stuff he thought neighbors might want. ) We still have some of that to finish, in addition to an outbuilding that contained SIL's gardening equipment. It really brought home all the 'stuff' we collect, know we should weed out-- but don't want to face the chore. Perhaps doing these things has contributed to my cleaning mood of late!
Anyway, I thought these lil' punkins were cute, they were fun to color. Don't remember the stamp company. Stripe paper from a 6x6 pack - who knows when it came to live here. S/B label die. The orange cardbase is a bit smaller than the usual, but it was on the desk. MS punches from black c/s and some WoS applied. Think the die cut sentiment is a M.Box, 2 layers of black c/s, then 2 layers of a snippet of yellow d/p that had a pattern. Thought it would work as a shadow outline, and it did!
Hope ya'll had a nice weekend. Ours was quiet, overcast, rainy at times, and we both took a long afternoon nap each day, as we were tuckered out :-).
Added some cards to the Cards by Friends which I hope you have time to check out. And here are the pictures of the front porch and some of our pretty fall trees. Some are turning into the autumn colors, but a lot are still fairly green. In one picture the azaleas off the side of the front porch still have blossoms. Normally they would be in their fall state by now...ditto on the crepe myrtles in the front flower bed. Those have lost the pretty magenta color blossoms we enjoyed all summer, but leaves are not the fall/winter brown as yet. Those leaves will brown up, wither and blanket the mulch under those trees.
Hope you enjoyed seeing our part of the world. Thanks for popping by and come again when you can. Blessings and Hugs.

Fun and cheery Halloween Greeting. That is a super cute image of the pumpkins. Nicely layered with the cute little sparkly witch and bat. Your photos are so pretty and your house porch looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteWould you look at the gleam on those windows. They fair gleam as I reach for my sunglasses. lol. Super little card and great colouring.
ReplyDeleteAlways difficult having a clear out. The shed desperately needs to be de cluttered though I did giveThe Doca pair of rusty shears to dispose of the other day. Hugs Mrs A.
Such a sweet Halloweenie card with your happy little jack-o-lanterns brightening up the path so trick or treaters won't be afraid. I treasure the photos you share from your porch. I personally would LOVE living in your neighborhood - it looks so clean and well kept. Your brick steps to the welcoming porch, lined with pretty mums, the lovely hues in your trees, and the immaculate landscaping make my eyes "drool" with happiness. Your place is gorgeous. Now, if only my craft room could look that well organized! LOL Wishing you a lovely day, my sweet Carolina friend. xx
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing the pictures of your house and garden Mary. Oh, and loved the card too ... lol! Take care. Hugs Christine xx

Hi Mary, Love the card.
ReplyDeleteDo you call Pumpkins Punkins, or is is a typo?
Loving the colours of your plants, shrubs, etc. The leaves here are orange, yellow, red and gold. Sadly a lot are on the ground now.
After my dad passed away and I did 90% of the clear out, as my brother had to work. I was determined to get my thing sorted, so if I passed away my brother wouldn't have such a lot to deal with. I only have a one bedroom flat, but it's surprising what you can squeeze in:)
Hope you have a good week. Sue
Your home surroundings look so homey and idyllic. A card perfect for the season, it will no less so next year. I've never sent off any of my Easter cards, I always miss the deadline diet if, but next year I guess I've got enough of them to send to everybody I need them for:) if I can just get them out in time.
ReplyDeleteA super card Mary, fun pumpkins and your colourful striped papers frame them beautifully.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photographs, your front porch and garden both look wonderful.

I love to see your part of the world, in particular your fabulous porch and door resplendent in that magnificent wreath. Those really are cute pumpkins on your card and the striped paper is perfectly coloured for such an occasion . Halloween celebrations have only reached the UK over the past fifteen years or so. I remember as a child that my Mum and Dad would fill washing up bowls with water and we would put apples into the water and try to pick them up with our teeth...apple bobbing, and Mum always made toffee apples for us too. Dad always referred to it as Punky Night, so your referring to them as punkins is spot on!! xx
ReplyDeleteA super card Mary, super fun image and lovely Halloween papers, like the bat and witch images too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos of your trees and porch.

I just love your Halloween card, those pumpkins looks so cheerful!
ReplyDeleteThe autumnal colours around your house are just beautiful and your front porch looks so welcoming with your decorations. We didn't get a single Trick or Treater last year, we will just have to see how this year goes - I really don't want to eat all that candy myself - lol! Hugs, Anne xx
I love those sweet and prettily coloured pumpkins Mary and the orange card is perfect in the background, together with the striped paper and shadowed sentiment which stands out beautifully as does the bat and witch. I think your brother must really appreciate your giving him help to sort things out, and love your photos of the wonderful trees and shrubs and also your porch display. x
ReplyDeleteYOur pumpkin card is so cute and I just LOVE the photos of your home, porch and yard! I could nestle in nicely on that rockin' chair with a good cuppa coffee and a good read in the early AM :) It looks absolutely beautiful!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Mary. I only got cards mailed to the family. I do love these pumpkins and your pretty card. The strip you used to mat the image is perfect Halloween paper. Your porch and steps are so welcoming. Wish I could come trick or treating there!
ReplyDeleteHow cute and beautiful is your card!
ReplyDeleteAnd the pictures of your garden and porch are gorgeous!
xoxo Olga
I did enjoy my visit and seeing your Halloween decorations and pretty fall colors! If we look up we see some color in the top of the trees! Love your pumpkins that are so beautifully colored! I didn't get any Halloween cards out this year either.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pumpkins you have there!
ReplyDeleteI hear you about cleaning out. We did a big purge before, during, and after we moved 18 months ago and stuff seems to creeps back in (along with the stuff we moved that didn't get purged and should have). I just read an interesting article on Swedish Death Cleaning which is a purging of your belongings as you age so that your loved ones aren't left with a huge physical and emotional burden of doing so after you pass.
What a wonderful Halloween card and so well colored. And, thanks for sharing the photos of your part of the world too!
ReplyDeleteYour porch and yard are beautiful, Mary. I love the brightly colored leaves. I only make two Halloween cards, one for the grandson and one for our teen grand niece. Since she'll be off to college next year, her Halloween card days are probably numbered - LOL! Love the card!
ReplyDeleteYou live in a lovely neighborhood, Mary. The gardens and trees are so pretty and there are a few that are really turning to the fall colours. Your porch looks beautiful with the decorations.
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of trees in our area that are so pretty in the yellow, orange and red. And a few in our own yard ... lots of raking to do! But so worth the work!
Awesome Halloween card, Mary. Great colouring (as always) on your pumpkins. I don't make Halloween cards ... it's not common to send them here in Canada. xx
Lovely photos Mary. I like the colouring on your pumpkins it gives them real dimension.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure helping your brother clean out got you to thinking and doing your own clean out Momma Mary. We all need to do this as we can "collect" a lot of stuff! As we well know when it comes to the crafty rooms. lol Love the sweet Halloween card, again the paper is so perfect and the little pumpkins just adorable. Everything looks so beautiful in your yard Momma Mary. Your fall decorations look so pretty as well. So love the crepe myrtle trees. Hugs, Brenda
