Friday Fun Day at Jo's Scrap Shack

Good Morning, and welcome to Friday Fun Day Challenge #25 over at Jo's Scrap Shack where our sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  Our team member, Kellie selected a theme of Things with Wings. I chose the Bugaboo Silhouette Butterfly Flowers (shown here).

Printed out the digi on plain white Walmart GP paper, because I had decided I would airbrush or use pan pastels on this image. So here it is:

I have been so inspired lately at seeing so many bloggers using a raised white panel against a white card base, so thought I'd give it a try with this image. Die cut the image with a S/B circle that fit around the image.

- Bugaboo Butterfly digi airbrushed with copics, starting with a base of Y04 because I wanted to have a center glow. Used B000 over the yellow trying to leave the center with more yellow tones. I kept experimenting with the different B markers until I got the look that I had envisioned. I didn't want to use the markers directly to the paper, even though I'd let the digi print dry well. Sometimes I have had the print smear using alcohol markers, even on the quality Xpress paper. GP paper does not usually work well for me, if I'm using Copics direct to paper.  I did a second image using Pan Pastels, but didn't like it as well as the airbrushing. You might see it later, after I look at the results for a little while and think about it!

- used a small butterfly punched from some of my waste spray paper. There is a butterfly image on the right, and a profile butterfly on the left. I decided placing a punch butterfly over these would add some dimension. I didn't like the still flat look, so added a 2nd one over each place, so that I could lift the wings. Placed 2 more coming up from the corner, added pearls - these critters were going towards the foliage like those I see at our bushes.

- Elizabeth Craft sentiment.

Before adhering the raised white panel, I scored around the card base. Panel & & circle are popped up.

Please do join us today over at Jo's Scrap Shack where the rules are posted, and let us see how you interpret Kellie's theme of Things with Wings. In the meantime, many hugs & have a wonderful Friday.

  4. Absolutely stunning my friend!! I just love the little bit of color on the white space. Those butterflies are gorgeous surrounding the main focal point and leading the eyes to the inside where more butterflies are fluttering away. Love this!

  12. This is stunning Mary! Love that gorgeous inkly circle...it is beautiful.
I know what you mean about having the copics blur the digis...We bought a printer today and it blurs too...saving my pennies to buy a good printer on Black Friday...but don't know which kind to get. It is so hard to decide.
Your screen is shaking on my computer...i had this problem about a month ago and it was from a button I had installed for some blog candy of something. I moved it below my Google friends and then it was fine...did not like the first placement I had chose.
View your blog and see if you get it too...maybe it is mine acting up again!
