Thanksgiving

Good Morning, and don't forget to set your clocks back an hour if you're in the USA.

Welcome to another new follower, Vicky of Cards by Vicki. Vicky has a lovely blog, with some beautiful cards so I hope you'll find time to pop over & say Hi, and enjoy a stroll through her blog.

Here's a card I've been working on, finally finished it last night.

- Background from Dylusions sprays. Pan Pastels (in the lavender colors) smoothed over the skyline area as I was trying to create a purple sunset sky look. Also enhanced the ground area with some yellow greens to create more definition.

- Judikins Scarecrow silhouette was found at Hobby Lobby on sale. I seldom see Judikins stamps other than in stamp stores, so of course I grabbed it. Added the Inkadinkadoo pumpkins, colored with Derwent Inktense pencils. Mr. Scarecrow needed some balance on the opposite side, so hunted up a clear Autumn stamp set, for the corn, which was also colored with Derwent pencils. I scribbled a few squiggles under the scarecrow for some grounding.

the Genesis cutter trimmed up the focal piece  and a black mat. Added corners, (from a black snippet) using a small motif from the S/B Ornate Corners to cut 2 pieces, then split them corner to corner. Added orange rhinestones.

- Very lightweight kraft colored paper, 2 pieces embossed together with Anna Griffin Foulard EF, and it still cut through in places because the paper is so lightweight. Used Pan Pastel Gold Metallic to smooth over the raised embossing. Adhered to a white card base after adding the ribbon and the scarecrow & mat to the embossed piece.

- sprayed the burlap ribbon with Dylusions Orange Zest, drying between coats. This was a 50% off sale item from Hobby Lobby. Most of the burlap ribbons I saw were much too large for card usage.

- Sentiment from a Dylusions snippet using Memento Rich Cocoa and a stamp from a clear set of sentiments. I cut the stamp apart to make it fit properly.

Enjoy your Sunday afternoon, and com'on back when you have time to set a spell. Very soon, it's going to be much too chilly to enjoy our front porch. Thanks for visiting, and many hugs.

  8. Love your scarecrow Mary. He's super. Our clocks went back last weekend. I hate it when it happens because it puts my body clock out for a couple of days. Christine
