Good evening and thanks so very much for all the wonderful thoughts & wishes for our anniversary yesterday. It was a quiet day, but pleasant. DH did some moving around in the garage yesterday - cleaned out some bookcase type affairs. This afternoon, we dusted those out, and moved some into my stamp area. I had other things I wanted to do today, but hey, I don't turn down help when it is offered. I've been wanting a higher table for my Genesis cutter, as standing for long periods of time makes my back unhappy. DH used a heavy counter-top that had covered some cabinets, added some metal legs to the height that I need for comfort..and soon my cutter will have a new home. All of my punches can rest in the new bookcases - where I'm trying to arrange these by season. The table is high enough I can store plastic boxes of 'stuff' under it, and still leave a space for a sit stool. The table is next to the air brush table, which has a high stool, so that can serve both places. I'll try to take some pictures of the re-arranged area and share. It's not 'pretty', but I think it's going to work better for me. (nothing matches and I'm not the greatest decorator/room arranger either).
SIL took us out to dinner last night (DD is in Fla, but called later in the evening). We had come home for dessert and the fellas watched Gravity - which is not my kind of movie. Today we spent moving things around in what used to be a basement bedroom. Gave away that bed and now it's MY room. I was gradually encroaching on the room anyway, but it's great to not have to pile stuff on the bed.
Today's theme for our bi-monthly Christmas Card Club was chosen by our sweet Miss Sue P. and she selected Teddies. Ok by me, as I knew exactly the Ted I wanted to use. (oh yes, Miss Sue had a birthday yesterday too - so Happy Birthday Sue.)
Here goes:
- PBlack Give Us a Kiss image, colored with copics and WoS. Hat fur is Sparkle n Sprinkle Twinkling Clouds - which works great for snow. Also added to the snow where Ted is standing. Ted looks a little moth-eaten in the photo, but I used the image on the stamp as a guide for coloring.
- Cottage Cutz holly flourish, from green glitter paper, shaded just a bit with dark green copic, berries colored with a red Smooch. (it looks dark in the photo, but is a ruby red color IRL; the holly shading is not that dark either).
- IO snowflake die from silver glitter paper.
- holly paper from a 6x6 BoBunny Rejoice Collection from stash. Opening die cut with S/B Label 4.
- red & white dot paper from 6x6 Pebbles Welcome Christmas paper. Opening die cut with S/B Gold Label 4. Edged with gold WofLuna, 2 coats. Dried, then edged with a Pentel fine tip gold pen.
- SU punch for the sentiment, then used the same punch on the holly paper, cut in half, to add to each end for a matting look.
You can find the links to the other members of this Christmas Card Club in the sidebar, so do please give them a visit for some great Christmas inspiration. As always, thanks for spending some time with me this evening. Have a great week, and many hugs.

ReplyDeleteTeddy looks a very well loved bear and so cute too. I love the card and your colouring is fab. I'm thinking of getting myself a proper storage arrangement for my craft area so that it looks more tidy. Need to do a quick measure up first though to make sure it will all fit. hugs Mrs a.

ReplyDeleteThis is an adorable image. I always love Penny black stamps...they seems to be so earnest and true!
ReplyDeleteYour card is really retty. That holly image is a keeper...so pretty!
We just got home from the lake and I am shattered. IT was 39 degrees there today...so a good day to head home and catch up in the garden.
It is 34 here today, so the house was pretty stuffy when we arrived but feels a bit better now. Thank goodness!
You are doing a good job on your "sorting". I need to get cracking on with mine too.
Sounds like your scrapbook room is going to be much more organized with the help of those shelving thingy's!
well done with all that organisation its so satisfying to get crafty stuff where you can find it.....
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous image Mary and I love your colours....a really sweet card that gave me a big smile!xxxx
This is gorgeous Mary, I like the image the embellishments and the colours.

Mary. Your card is lovely. Your room sounded like it was mine with a bed piled with stuff. Oh how I wish I could give the bed away, but it is useful for when I am not feeling good and don't want to go up stairs, the spare room is on the same level as the bathroom , so the bed will be staying much to my disappoint ment. Your craft room has to work for you so how it looks does not matter. Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteLove this Mary, the image is adorable. Love the dies you've used too. Wishing you and OH a belated Happy Anniversary. Carol x
ReplyDeleteHi Mary - I do think this little bear is a sweetie! I love how you have coloured his fur, he looks so cuddly! Just brilliant.

Big hugs Sue Pxxx
Fabulous card for the challenge this time and I think everyone enjoyed the theme of Teddies. Yours looks so cute and cuddly and a lovely way to frame him.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've been very busy, I think us crafters all have issues with space and storage - the sides of my room are beginning to meet in the middle I'm afraid, lol.
Enjoy your week.

Oh so glad that you are getting things organized Momma Mary and getting that room too!! That will be so nice having your cutter up high enough so you don't have to aggravate your back, I know first hand what it is like with a aggravated back. Now on to your card, which I just love!! That little teddy bear is just the cutest! Love the birdie too bring the mistletoe. You have colored them so well-not that I'm surprised or anything. lol Love the frames and that beautiful snowflake and holly. Oh heck you know I am loving the whole card! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card just love that bear :) Love when the Hubby helps out :) I seem to spent a day yesterday like you with cleaning up my craftroom, DD is coming in the end of the week so need to spruce the house up a bit :) You have a fantastic day :)
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card Mary, and I love the PB bear. The red dotty background goes beautifully and the die cut holly and the dimensional snow effect on the hat and under his feet is so pretty too. Glad you had a good weekend. We spent all weekend preparing for a visitor who now is unable to come, but I suppose at least the house has had a good clean..lol. x

ReplyDeleteSounds like "your" room is going to be just right for YOU and after all isn't that the object of enjoying what you are doing? Does it matter it doesn't match? NO!, recycling is in vogue so you are ahead of the the lot, good on you :)
ENJOY
