Hey, and thanks for stopping to visit. We arrived home after a safe & fairly uneventful drive up the road on New Year's day. Mr. made a good call on departure day as traffic was not terrible. It was heavy coming through Atlanta, but then it always is. We both said a heartfelt Thank You when we saw the entrance sign to our subdivision. It was hard to leave DD, but I did fairly well (at least for me!). Very nice to get back into our own bed last night.
Friday was spent just unpacking suitcase and some laundry. It was gray, rainy & very gloomy outside, and fit both our moods perfectly. I stayed in my flannel jammies all day, and read my kindle in between laundry-dryer loads & taking a couple of naps. With 5 dogs in the house, everything was subject to dog hair, so in the interest of not having any allergy attacks, I always re-launder all the clothes, then clean out the washer. Still have to get stuff out of the pickup - it takes time and motivation.
Just wanted to make a quick post to invite you to share some of the lovely handmade cards we've received from some extremely talented people. These are posted on the Cards by Friends Tab (at the top of the page). These were the ones of which I had taken photos; thought I had transferred to a flash drive to take along and share while in Florida. Couldn't find them on anything I had with me, but they were on the home computer. We've not collected our mail as yet, so I expect there will be a few more Christmas cards and if so, I'll share them later.
Hope all of you had a wonderful and SAFE New Year's Day. Will try to get back to posting in a bit. Got a few irons in the fire, so to speak and still regrouping after being away from home for 2 wks. And getting my mood back where it needs to be!!! God Bless and big hugs too.
Welcome home, Mary! It's always nice to be back safe and sound. You did a great job updating your page and I enjoyed seeing the awesome cards you've received from some of your friends! I hope your hubby is doing better and gets a good report when he visits his own doctor. I wish you both all the best for a happy and healthy new year!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteHi Mary. Glad you and hubby have arrived home safe and are getting back to your normal routine. Two weeks is a long time to be away from home and as much as you probably hated leaving your DD, it's always nice to get home and settle back to the familiar. :) Happy New Year to you and your family ... wish you happiness and good health for 2015. And, of course, lots of crafting fun! :) Loll xx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Mary, so glad you are both home safe and well. Yes it will take you an age to get yourself back in the mood,, having spent two lovely weeks with your DD, it's nice to be back home and your own bed, but the missing of DD is going to take a few days. You won't be missing those dog hairs. Yes we always have harris where ever we go, his hairs are attached to most things. Yet we wouldn't be without our big lump of golden delicious lab. He is such a sweetie. Look forward to seeing your wonderful, projects. Hazel x

ReplyDeleteThere is no place like home Momma Mary! I know how hard it was to leave your DD, but home always feels good to get back to it. I'm so thankful your trip home was safe and sound and that you had light traffic. That's always a good thing. I love all the beautiful cards you received and I see many know you well and sent cardinal cards and the ones that aren't cardinal cards are just as beautiful. It's nice to have such sweet friends isn't it?! And you are one that deserves to get such lovely cards because you are a very good friend to all! Hugs, Brenda

Glad you had a safe journey and arrived home safely, been to look at the lovely cards you received from friends but was a tad difficult to appreciate them properly as the flipping P was covering up some of them.
