Today's card has been received by the recipient, so thought I'd share it with my sweet blogging buddies. Here goes:
This is an old wooden stamp and one that I used a lot when I was learning to shade with copics. I still have a difficult time leaving 'white space' on an image, and apparently my eye doesn't like to see strong contrast. (which is what makes an image appear much more dimensional..I tend to color in a more subtle fashion. Then have to look at what I've done, try to go back and do some darker shading. Sometimes it works, sometimes not!). This is one of my favorite rose images though.
- S/B beaded oval to cut the image, a light Distress Ink green for the outer shading.
- Elizabeth Craft die sentiment - cut several layers for dimension, with the top layer being cut from a snippet of glitter gold.
SU embossing border on each side, and some pretty lace for the top trim.
Hope you like this one. Have a super nice day. Warm hugs & thanks for popping in.
I am loving this beautiful card Momma Mary! The rose is very beautiful and you have it colored so pretty. I love the way you color, your coloring always seems to have the shadows and contrast to me. I guess it doesn't matter as long as it is please to the eye of the beholder! That rose is a great stamp to practice with though. I love the embossing on each side and that pretty lace at the top. The SB die is a pretty one too, I love these beaded ovals! Hugs, Brenda

Is this a psx stamp? I love the colors, and the gorgeous elegance you've put into it! I caught a bad cold on Jan 10. Then the coughing triggered my diseases, and what I had in my knees and hips is now in my left upper shoulder and thoracic region, so I cannot sit at the puter very much :-(
ReplyDeleteHopefully, this too shall pass with a little TLC and time.
love,

Love the rose & the card!
I do indeed like today's card Mary,a beautiful rose coloured to perfection.
ReplyDeleteSome of the older wood mounted stamps remain my favourites. An acrylic block just does not give the same satisfaction to holding that piece of wood.
Have a good Tuesday.

Oh, what a lovely rose stamp, Mary!!! ...and you have coloured it beautifully ...love the subtle shading around the edges of the oval and the centres of the smaller ovals also coloured. The lace at the top goes so nicely with the EF!! The sentiment looks lovely in gold!!!

Mary, beautiful card. You must have practiced a lot with your coloring because this flower is colored perfectly. I always liked that SB die because you can add the colors on the edges. Your lace is a very attractive addition. Have a good day.

Isn't that an old PSX stamp? I remember it from way back. What a nice card. I'm with you and the white space in a image. It looks like you missed a space! But really it helps with dimension.
