Hi and welcome. This will be a scheduled post so will hope that it loads properly. Our bi-monthly Christmas Card Club Challenge theme of Feature a Critter (or Critters) was chosen by our sweet Miss Maureen (otherwise known as Scrappymoi of Scraps of Life by Scrappymoi). This card has been partially done for several weeks, as a nice Cardinal punch was spied on one of my Hobby Lobby trips.
- I know you are surprised that I would be attracted to a cardinal punch, but there it is. These critters were punched from a snippet of white c/s and colored with copics. Tiny jewel & pearls added for the eyes.
- Lightweight silver glitter strip (a snippet) was used for the border, and 2 strips of the dark green added for a little separation between the border & the background paper. (Green is the reverse of this check paper)
- Red country check from a 6x6 Christmas pack, embossed with a Couture Creations EF. I can't remember the name, and not much of it shows anyway...LOL
- Sizzix TH Thinlits Merry Christmas die for the sentiment - done with white snippets, colored with copics. Only 2 layers but still gave a bit of dimension.
- green rhinestones were colored with various dark green copics to better go with the green border strips, as was the sentiment die.
Easy card once I got round to the finishing up part of it.
My fellow Christmas Card Club members are listed on the sidebar, so please check out the wonderful cards they are sharing this week. Thanks Maureen for having an easy & fun challenge.
Big Hugs, and thanks for popping round. Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon. God Bless

Rudolph Day - March 2015
Good afternoon Dear Bloggers, and thanks for joining me here in sunny South Florida. We had a fairly uneventful trip south. However, when we got into Florida, we had a hellacious rain storm, with poor visibility, extremely heavy rain...and all the traffic was moving slowly with flashers on. (I would have opted to pull off the road had I been driving! - but that's not always the safest thing to do either). Then about the time we stopped for a late supper, Mr. started feeling an upset tummy; didn't even feel up to drinking a coke...which usually will settle a queasy tummy. Once back on the road, had a couple of barfs, so good thing we had some grocery bags in the back with him. He's better this morning, so doesn't appear to be a 'bug' that he brought down to share with everyone else. I told him "Looks like we best quit bringing you back to Florida".
I scurried to finish a card for Rudy Day the night prior to our departure. My 1st attempt ended in failure when I tried to use a S/B border die to pretty up an edge. So this is the do-over one, which just had white & silver colors.
- Here's the inside view. As I said, this was a very fast card, since I wanted to have something for Miz Mo's March Rudolph Day.
Just now realized that this will also fit in with Our Darnell's NBUS Challenge #4 as well. Oh what fun it is to play along.
I hope all of you will pop over to both of these super fun challenges to see some fabulous inspiration, play along, and get to know some super lovely people.
Thanks for joining me today. In case you didn't notice, my usual Kylie watermark is missing. Those files are on the desktop back in SCarolina. Tried to think of all the files that needed to get copied onto the laptop, and drat it, always forget something. Hope you're all set for a wonderful weekend wherever you are. Big Hugs & God Bless.

- front of the card, used a Karen Burniston pop-up die (may be correctly called a pivot die - sorry not remembering the name of it) - purchased when my friend Gloria & I took a class last year. First use of the die .....hmmm, a NBUS?.... and I had to remember how to use it!
S/B scalloped border die & some Starform outline stickers to dress it up a mite.

Last of the St. Pat's Cards
Good afternoon and welcome. The St. Pat's cards that were mailed have been received and since I don't have a card ready today, thought I'd share these with you. Our best friend from New England flew in yesterday afternoon, and on Thursday we are headed to Florida. It's been a couple years since his schedule allowed him to visit and likewise our schedule hasn't permitted us to travel up there either. So we're enjoying a nice visit. I'm scrambling to try to get some card commitments done and get things lined up to leave after I get my allergy shot tomorrow.
So here's the cards:
- Image is a Sweet Stamps cling - several years old. Colored with Copics and WoS, fussy cut and mounted on white c/s, embossed with SU mesh EF, rounded corners. Very simple.
- IO shamrock - green snippet.
- ODBD cling image, stamped with Memento ink (I have the hardest time spelling that company name properly! Think this shade was Pear Tart, but not sure). Colored with Copics & WoS, die cut with a S/B deckled oval. Used a pentel green pen to trace the inner line while die still in place.
- Think the side pieces were from a Sue Wilson die, done from white snippet, colored with BG copic shades, and snipped apart to form the edges.
- green card base embossed with dots E/F folder.
- Taylored Expression sentiment die cut from a snippet of Brusho background paper.
- ODBD Gaelic cross, stamped in Memento London Fog, colored with copics. The effect I was trying for in the Celtic design on the cross was to make it appear like recessed carving as one would see on the old stone markers. Not sure I did that very effectively.
- Of course it was die cut, but gosh, I'm sorry I don't remember which die (probably a Sue Wilson since that's one of my current loves), but didn't write it down and the dies have been put back in storage. Same with the EF...just thought it was a pretty design & complimented the Gaelic theme; then added a IO die cut shamrock from some glitter paper.
Hope you enjoyed seeing these and this will be (fer sure!) the last of the St. Pat's cards. I'm trying to finish up a card for Rudolph Day but might have to just finish, photo, and then post it after arriving in Fla. There's such a lot of things to do to get ready for a trip. Mr. reminded me to notify Visa that we will be traveling out of home state, so watch for charges that don't appear to be made by us. Todate everyone in the Fraud stuff has been most helpful, so I think we have the problem handled ok on our end, anyway.
Hope to be back with you soon. I did manage to finish up returning visits last night. I do apologize when I get so behind - but sometimes I'm just not doing well with keeping up. I hope you will forgive me...
Big hugs & God Bless.

DeeDee's Digis - Gifts of Spring - Bunny
Happy Sunday evening. Our day has been quiet, drizzly rain off & on. Cleaned the bed linens, did some paperwork. Our credit card was compromised, and I caught fraudulent charges on our last bill, to the tune of nearly $550.00 in charges over a 2 day period. It was used in the sort of places where we would normally use it, but in several cities in South Carolina where we have never been. So word to the wise: check your credit card charges frequently (on line if you can) but most definitely check your bill when it comes in. Normally I'd have been checking on line every few days, but then we get busy with other stuff & I neglected to do that. However, I do check all receipts against the bill when it comes in, and that's how I caught this. Visa is doing a Fraud claim, so don't think we'll be responsible since I reported it, but there is some paperwork involved. Plus we had to wait for new credit cards to be mailed. Fortunately we keep one that is used only for online orders & emergencies, so we didn't have to resort to cash!
Would like to extend a big warm welcome to a new follower, Eileen Godwin of Eileen's Crafty Zone. After enjoying those marvelous Youtube videos recently, I googled and found Eileen's lovely blog, left her a comment, and oh my goodness, she took time to come over to visit & become a follower. I was so overwhelmed, because I can see she is one busy crafty lady. So do yourself a BIG treat, check out those videos, and visit Eileen's blog for some fantastic inspiration.
Today is another card from the DeeDee's Digis set, Gifts of Spring (remember I mentioned it had several designs in this set?)
- precolored DeeDee's digi, with some copic shading, diecut with the S/B Oval Bliss. First effort, I did the out-of-the-box cutting to leave Bunny's ears out of the die. That didn't work out just right, so What to Do? Used scissors to cut out the oval, ditch the lace. Recut the die with plain white snippet and popped Bunny right over it. With all the other 'schtuff' it's not really noticeable that this is 2 layers.
- K&Co 8x8 spring pack (VOS) yielded the papers. Glued 2 different pinks, used a Darice Easter Egg EF to emboss (doesn't show up too much). Used a pretty piece of lace (stash) over the seam.
- Sue Wilson NYork Collection Times Square cut the frame from more of the K&Co paper.
- Suede paper snippet cut bunnies from IO dies (DIE168-C & DIE043-G)...2 different sizes.
- Fussy cut the posies from another print of this digi, and garnished the DeeDee's Digi sentiment.
That's it. The current challenge at Cuttlebug Mania is Freeze Frame. I think this one might fit in with that, and since the repair oval bliss & suede wabbits are snippety bits, think I might just mosey along over to give Parsnip a little hug. Sad to say, I've been neglecting him lately. I hope he will forgive me, and give me a big hug right back. Also saw some wonderful inspiring cards highlighted when I checked to see that a new week is open at the Snippets Playground (week 169). So com'on - check out these challenges.
Also, don't be forgettin' about Rudy Day which is opening on the 25th! Be there, or be square!
Thanks for popping in. (oh yes, I totally forgot my 3rd Blogaversary which was March 12th! So Happy Blogaversary to ME!) Hugs, and God Bless.

DeeDee's Digis - Gifts of Spring
Good evening, sweet Blog Friends. So lovely to have you pop in for a visit & a chat. Please help me welcome 2 new followers:
Thanks for becoming followers, and I'm so looking forward to getting to know each of you better, and enjoy your crafty work. I hope lots of my blog buddies will be checking you out as well, so many more of us can be inspired.
We had 4 beautiful spring days, beginning with Sunday. M-T-W I got ambitious (well, not really, but it needed to be done!) and did some weeding along the house foundations. We get this rather pretty weed that is called henbit or chickweed locally (don't know what the scientific name is). If one sees a field of the stuff, it's the prettiest green & lavender to purple shades. However, it's not so pretty in the flower beds, and once the lavender/purple seed heads start to bloom, the wind can spread it everywhere. Over the winter, patches of it were sprouting up, so that meant that Moi had to get out & get industrious. Can I just say here, I absolutely detest yard work? Also I'm terrified of those things that slither & crawl. The neighbor behind us, had put out a blurb on our subdivision's facebook page, that her husband had found 2 out by their pool. Ugh! I'm armed with a hoe, and believe me, I was stirring up the mulch & shaking the bushes before I put a gloved hand down to the mulch. Took me 3 days - with lots of breaks - to do 2 sides of the house foundation where we have plants. My back hated me, so did my legs. I don't squat, I bend & pull. After a few minutes, Back says "Idiot. Stop. NOW!". I think I worked about 2 hours each day. Bagged the stuff & this morning we took 4 big lawn garbage bags to the dump. So that's my excuse for being MIA the last few days.
Today's card has been nearly finished for couple days - just had to get the MoJo to photo it. I have been watching some great Youtubes with the Smoosh technique - inking up plastic, spritzing, then smooshing the card base down on the resulting wet color. (here's the link to the PTI video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK9TrwwDQak and thanks to Bonnie K for providing the link on her blog where I first saw this). Since then, I've seen some other Youtubes*
*See a link Below to some good Brusho videos, thanks to my friend Gloria
Ok...on to the card:
- the background was done with the Ink Smoosh on plastic technique. While it was wet, sprinkled on some green brusho crystals. Spritzed again. Had taped off the Canson Mixed Media paper with painter's tape to have white frame around the edges. However, had to trim the white edges off, because when the tape was removed in one place, it had stuck and sort of messed up the paper. So after trimming, added the rectangle piece to a white tent fold card base.
- DeeDee's Gift of Spring precolored digi image. This set has got it all: 2 cute images that can be either for Spring or Easter, sentiments, papers - a real value buy. Fussy cut the image after doing a bit of shading, some WoS blue on the basket ribbon. Did a little dimension with a stylus, but it doesn't show in the photo.
- Used a TCW leaf stencil to ink an egg on the lower left corner. The stencil leaf pattern reminded me of an egg dye trim..used Bamboo Leaves & Pear Tart...wanted this to stay a subtle pattern in the grass. (Hidden eggs, ya know?)
Trio of eggs die cut from snippets using Impression Obsession DIE041-A - which makes a little egg chicken - decided I just wanted the eggs. The 2 pink eggs are from snippets of valentine paper that is still in the pile, and the center egg is tissue paper that is waste liner from spray projects. Thought all of these snippets made some pretty eggs!
Hope you'll pop over to DeeDee's Digis where there is a nifty challenge theme, something yummy to eat or drink, over at Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge. The challenge allows you to make any type of card as long as it has something to do with food or drink. So do check it out.
Now, here's a Youtube link for all you Brusho users. Eileen Godwin does 4 cards, and has some most interesting techniques and wonderful effects. Thanks Gloria, for giving me the heads up. I certainly enjoyed Eileen's work and will be trying some of these techniques. Bet the UK folks already know about Eileen, but I didn't!
Since I used a couple of snippets, think I'll pop over to see Parsnip, at the Snippets Playground and see what he & the Snippeteers are up to these days! It's week 168 and the gates are still open for 9 more hours as I'm typing this post! Hurry up - the fun's still going on.
There's a new card to enjoy on the Cards by Friends tab too.
Thanks for joining me, come again when you have time, and have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.

Christmas Card Club - Anything Goes - with embossing paste
Hello everyone, and welcome to another Christmas Card Club post - and today our theme was selected by Sylvie of Gibmiss. Her challenge was an Anything Goes, and I decided to go with a Dreamweaver's metal stencil and some pearlized embossing paste. First, though, let me wish all the international Moms a wonderfully Happy Mothering Day. Here in the USA, we shall celebrate that blessed holiday next month.
Also in today's post, there will be a post to the Friends' Cards tab, as we received 2 very lovely St. Patrick's Day cards that we've been enjoying. Now, onto the Anything Goes CCC.
This card was inspired by one seen sometime ago, done by Jill at Ribbon Challenged. When I saw Jill's beautiful card, my own stencil was on the air brush table, but had yet to be used. Thanks, Jill, for this inspiration, belated though the final effort is!
Some weeks ago, decided to experiment with some pearlized embossing paste (below, just in case you may not be familiar with this product).
Once the piece had dried very well, dug out some VOS (very old stuff!) of Pebbles chalks... a metallic set and really the chalk is more of a paste consistency than truly chalk. I liked the way the colors went over the dried pearlized emboss. It was a bit difficult to color the holly, using a Q-tip on the tiny spots - it smeared outside the raised edges. I was biting my tongue & being very careful as I applied it, too. The birds and holly did ok. Decided to add some red rhinestones over the holly berries, and liked that a little better.
- S/B Majestic Square die for main image, S/B classic square for glitter paper mat, and Sue Wilson New York Collection Times Square die for the pattern dp - which came from an old 12x12 Christmas pack. The center portion of each layer was removed by using a square die before adhering to a white card base.
Debated on adding a sentiment, but finally stamped a clear Merry using Colorbox Warm Lipstick Fluid Chalk ink. Didn't want to cover up any of the embossed image. Hope you like it, and thanks Sylvie, for a fun theme on this challenge. Do please check out all my fellow members at the Christmas Card Club - their links are on the sidebar.
We have some warm lovely sunshine today, after a dreary overcast Saturday. Very welcome. Enjoy whatever it is that you may be doing today. Another request - if you can - is to please say a prayer for a sweet blogging buddy & her husband, who are going through a difficult patch of life at the moment. I would be so grateful, and I'm sure they would as well. Big hugs & God Bless. Thanks for visiting today.

Brusho Memory Box Peony - Thinking of You
Good evening and thanks for popping in for a little visit. First, a big welcome to Shelly S .of My Creative Rumblings. Thanks so much for choosing to spend a little time here with me, and do please pay a visit to Shelly to enjoy some of her fabulous work.
I expect you may be getting a little tired of the Brusho backgrounds, but I am having such fun playing with this stuff. Made quite a few pieces as it's not worth the bother to just make one background, and then waste all the excess color. Our SIL lost his Dad last week, and we needed a card. Looked through the dies - decided to use a Memory Box Peony die and here's the resulting card:
Sorry for the glare on the photo. Started with a card base of World Win white paper. This is a good weight for a card base, and has a fine texture...a bit finer than the Bazzill cardstock I use frequently.
Cut the MB peony die out of the card base where the flower was to be. Saved the outline and all the little bits. Then cut the same die out of a pink Brusho piece, that had a final pearlized spritz before drying; which is why the colors look less intense than what you've been seeing here. You'll see the other die cuts used at later date. Used the blue outline from a blue & green brusho piece.
Inlaid outline & all the little bits in the appropriate places. Used Sookwang tape (double side tape) behind the opening.Must say, this has been the easiest effort yet doing this technique.
- Sizzix border folder to emboss.
- Elizabeth Craft sentiment on a snippet of Dylusions background. Used 2 layers to build this up, and probably won't do that again, using water color paper. Oops, see that I forgot the little pearl that needs to dot the i. Will add that prior to mailing. Thought about using some copics to darken the green in the sentiment, decided to leave well enough alone. I have a problem with that!!!
Thanks again for visiting this evening. Hope you had a lovely Wednesday, and are getting ready for a wonderful end of the week. Hugs.

Hugs.

More St. Patrick's Day Brusho Fun
Happy Tuesday, and please help me say a Warm Hello to some lovely new followers, whom I hope you'll have time to visit...
Today's card uses a background created on an earlier Brusho play date. Here goes:
Ya'll have a grand day. Thanks for stopping in, God Bless & Hugs too.
Jennelle of Blue Lily Sentiments
I'm so happy to have you all join me on this fun journey throughout Blogland. It's always so exciting to see new faces, meet some new friends, and enjoy wonderful inspiration with the diversity of talents seen on new blogs. So Sweet Visitor, please do pop over to say Hi to these talented Bloggers.
Today's card uses a background created on an earlier Brusho play date. Here goes:
- Brusho background using green & blue crystals over wet. Think this one may have started with a Dylusions yellow sprayed background. (This is the 'master' piece, that I mopped up the excess runoff with a brush, swiping over another white piece of watercolor cardstock. You saw that result on an earlier card). By the way, what I have been using is a Bristol Smooth paper. I want to try using a glossy piece next play day, as I saw a wonderful result here using glossy paper. Do take a peek at this beauty.
- over air dried background, placed TCW Mini Ceiling Tile stencil, swiped Versamark over the openings. Then pounced Pan Pastel chalks using yellows & golds. Loved the way it looked. Let it dry for a bit, then inked up Stampendous Agapanthus Cluster with a Turquoise ink, stamped. The Staz-On worked well to get a good impression. Had tried Memento ink on an earlier effort, not great results (could have been the Operator --however.. the Staz-On worked better for me).
- Older wooden stamp sentiment - no name.
- Again with the Frantage - using Stampendous Powder Blue. Sprinkled a bit over the surface, heated it from behind (blows off if you try to heat it from the front!). Well, it's stuck pretty well, but I'm still not pleased with the results of this product -- in my hands anyway. After I saw it, wished I had left it off. I keep trying to get the fantastic look I see on so many blogs as I surf through Blogland.
- Decided to add a green ribbon bow, and daggone it, once it stuck fast, saw that it had covered up part of the sentiment. Have a lucky ?what? - Hope the recipient sees that there is a Day hidden under the ribbon!! This one was so much fun to create the background.
Now for a little chit-chat: I have movies & books that I periodically will either re-read or rewatch. Example: Gone With the Wind - re-read and re-watch the movie about every 5 years or so. Driving Miss Daisy, Fried Green Tomatoes, and To Kill a Mockingbird are just a few others. Recently TKaMockingbird was on television, so recorded it on the DVR (we have the dvd, but too lazy to hunt it up!). Enjoyed the performance of every actor in the movie and remembered when I first read the book in 1962, as a senior in High School. I think it's just as relevant today as it was so long ago. I always get misty-eyed at the end. This is my favorite of Gregory Peck's movies. Anyone else love these oldies????
Think I'll pop over to The Mixed Media Challenge with this card, as the March Challenge is Hints of Spring. Hey, I have greens & gold on it, that signals Springtime, right????
Ya'll have a grand day. Thanks for stopping in, God Bless & Hugs too.

DeeDee's Digis - Irish Blessings for St. Patrick's Day
Hello & good evening! Reminder to my USA friends, change that clock tonight. Daylight Savings Time starts tomorrow. I will be pleased to have longer evening daylight. Since we don't have little ones to get ready for school, I get up late anyway, the longer morning dark won't bother me at all.
Tonight's card is made with a precolored DeeDee's Digi, This Irish Blessing set is priced so inexpensively at $2.75 (for the non-EU residents) and has papers, sentiments, designs, and made a fast card this evening. Here goes:
- Irish Blessing precolored digi printed twice. One image die cut with Lil Inker Stitched Circle. Fussy cut the 2nd one, did a little dimension with the stylus, added a bit of copic shading and some WoS. Popped it over the circle image. Used some gold sequins (Pot o'gold ya know) and then added 1 green sequin in the shamrocks. May have overdone the sequin thing, as it's not an embellishment I normally use.
-Background is made from Brusho crystals - BUT...it's the mop up piece from another effort. When the w/c paper gets spritzed after the crystals are sprinkled about, there's a good amount of 'run-off'. A shame to waste all this color, so what I have been doing is to blot with another piece of w/c c/stock. This time used a small brush and picked up the running colors and just swiped across a 2nd sheet of white w/c c/stock. It made a wonderful 2nd background, just not as intense as the 1st one (which you will see later). Oh I've had such fun experimenting lately.
- embossed this background with an EF. There's a shamrock EF living here somewhere, but do you think I could find it?
- added some lace, thin green ribbon. Most of which is covered up by the sentiment. The lace is thick enough that it makes a 'bubble' when attaching the front piece to the cardbase. Today's mail had some thin packing material wrapped around some bottles. I'm not sure what this stuff is called...it's much thinner than fun foam. Decided to add 2 layers to the card front before adhering to the base, and it lifted this piece up just enough so the lace doesn't make a bumpy spot.
- Sentiment font is a freebie from Dafonts.Com and computer generated. The capital letters have stylized design, which didn't show well, so used a green pen and darkened. Die cut with Lil Inker Square die, used a green pin to highlight the stitching. Shamrock in the top right corner covers a blob where I didn't get the stitch inked very neatly! :-) But I was going to have them on the square anyway...just had to place it strategically.
- MBox tiny shamrocks from a very teensy snippet of white c/s...colored with copics. Ain't they cute?
Hope you like this one, and will go check out this cute set over at DeeDee's Digi's. There are also some very nice Easter themed Digis available as well.
Thanks for visiting, hope you had a lovely Saturday. Ours was very sunny, gorgeous blue sky, in the low 60's, but didn't feel that warm to me. We had a most quiet day...read, took a nap, did NOT do any of the house chores which I should have. What more could one ask for a pleasant day?! Hugs.

St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun - March 2015
Top O' th Mawn-ing to ya and thanks for joining me today for a little visit. We have St. Pat's and Easter holidays drawing nigh, so I'm trying to get in the spirit for each of these holidays. Today I've used one of my favorite St. Pat's image, which was one of the first I ever bought. A cute Art Impression gnome (or leprechaun). He's very easy to color, but I had to fight my tendency to want to color him all in greens. Harder than it sounds, for me to do that.
- Art Impression cling rubber image, colored with copics. Die cut with MFT stitched label. (can you guess I love these stitched dies?) A gold Slicca Pental .025 pen did the stitching in the shirt front.
- Brusho created background, stenciled with Heidi Swapp mosaic stencil using Golden gel beads. Die cut with S/B Ribbon Die. Glued to the green card base, added the image to the left to allow the pretty Brusho background to show as much as possible.
- Taylored Expression March Pockets & Pages sentiment on a snippet of green c/s
- Impression Obsession small Shamrock die, and MS die for the 2 larger shamrocks. After adhering the shamrocks, gave each a coating of Glossy Accents. These were cut from the remaining snippet piece used for the sentiment. Always good to have those snippets handy!
There won't be as many St. Paddy's cards as were done for Valentine's Day, but we do need a few. Hope you enjoy this one, and come again when you have time. Big Hugs.

Mixed Media Challenge for March 2015 - Hint of Spring
Good afternoon and today's card was a result of the Mixed Media Challenge for March - Hints of Spring.
Lately I've been having some fun playing with the Brusho water crystals background. Was working on a St. Pat's card (scheduled for tomorrow) and had an extra background that I thought - with some effort - could fit the bill for this Mixed Media Challenge. So here 'tis:
- Brusho background (I like the colors too!) was stenciled over using some pearlized paste and TH Splatters stencil. Let this dry for a bit, then decided to add some Sparke n Sprinkle Aztec Gold glitter...it's pretty, but I sort of wished afterwards, that I'd left off the glitter. It was going Everywhere! So spritzed some Tattered Angels gold spray over the piece, which helped with the glitter staying put, -- but then the w/c paper looks buckled. Weighting the card down will probably help this problem, but it's buckled in the photo.
- Inkadinkadoo bird image was colored with Intense pencils, then blended with gamsol, and die cut with MFT stitched circle.
- Cottage Cutz sentiment created from a snippet of Brusho background (on tomorrow's card) and a 'wipe-up' piece of vellum. Tested vellum to see how it would work blotting up extra color from the wet brusho background. Didn't work very well as I see it, but used a snippet from the vellum to die cut a 2nd sentiment, which was glued over the green Brusho background. The green base made the vellum color show better. Think I'll add a pearl for the dot over the 'i'.
- Impression Obsession DIE055-N for the branch. Cut from white snippet, then colored with copic shades of green. The green branch has a more delicate spring green than the yellow greens in the Brusho background. This is the shade we're see on the daffodil and tulip stems that are poking their heads up in our yard.
Hope you like this one. It's definitely got several different 'mix media' going on! Along with being submitted to the Mixed Media Card Challenge - March Hints of Spring, it's going over to the Snippet Playground for week 166. Hope you have time to check out both of these fun places and perhaps play along with a fun card.
Thanks for joining me this afternoon. Our day was so-so with the sunshine & overcast, but temp was ok, but it feels damp. It's lovely to see some tiny green things beginning to poke through the earth again. Come again when you can. Big Hugs & hope you had a grand day.

Christmas Card Club - Challenge #5 - Poinsettias
Afternoon, and welcome. It's time again for our Christmas Card Club challenge, and our theme of Poinsettias was chosen by our sweet Hostess, Margaret. I'm running a little behind in my post but here I am...I hope when you leave Carolina Cards, you'll have time to check out all the Club members who are listed in the sidebar, & take a look at what each member has shared today. Let's get going:
- PSX image (K1519) bought some years ago from eBay. Stamped first in Black Tuxedo, didn't like it, flipped over the c/s - restamped in Rich Cocoa, liked it better. Of course it's colored with copics, but you knew that, right??? Used the Slicca gold Pentel pen to add some highlights on the greenery, which shows up quite nicely IRL. White gel pen on the pine cones, Orange WoS on the stamens.
- Die cut with S/B Label 25. Edged with DI Pine Needles - barely. Just wanted a smidgen of color.
- Authentique 6x6 Festive papers...I think this is one of my fav Authentique packs.
- old braid from the stash - VOS.
- Sizzix TH 660058 die set for the sentiment...2 white layers, then a gold snippet layer. After seeing the photo, realized the focal piece needed to be moved up just a little. It's mounted over the braid - which is a bit thick, with double pieces of foam tape, so wasn't difficult to 'unstick' and move up.
This braid _is_ thick, so rather than have a 'hump' where the top & bottom pieces are glued to the cardbase, I added a thin piece of fun foam under the dp, cut just a bit smaller. Then mounted the fun foam to the card base. I've seen Jennifer McGuire doing this in some Youtubes, and think it worked well for a smoother look.
Thanks for joining me on this Sunday afternoon, where March 1 came in like a Lamb. Always heard that if March came in like a Lamb (quietly) it would be roaring out like a Lion (windy/stormy). We have had rain, but don't think we got the ice that was predicted. I'm happy with that! So please come again when you have time, and do take time to visit my fellow Christmas Card Club Members for some wonderful inspiration. Big Hugs
