Happy Sunday evening. Our day has been quiet, drizzly rain off & on. Cleaned the bed linens, did some paperwork. Our credit card was compromised, and I caught fraudulent charges on our last bill, to the tune of nearly $550.00 in charges over a 2 day period. It was used in the sort of places where we would normally use it, but in several cities in South Carolina where we have never been. So word to the wise: check your credit card charges frequently (on line if you can) but most definitely check your bill when it comes in. Normally I'd have been checking on line every few days, but then we get busy with other stuff & I neglected to do that. However, I do check all receipts against the bill when it comes in, and that's how I caught this. Visa is doing a Fraud claim, so don't think we'll be responsible since I reported it, but there is some paperwork involved. Plus we had to wait for new credit cards to be mailed. Fortunately we keep one that is used only for online orders & emergencies, so we didn't have to resort to cash!
Would like to extend a big warm welcome to a new follower, Eileen Godwin of Eileen's Crafty Zone. After enjoying those marvelous Youtube videos recently, I googled and found Eileen's lovely blog, left her a comment, and oh my goodness, she took time to come over to visit & become a follower. I was so overwhelmed, because I can see she is one busy crafty lady. So do yourself a BIG treat, check out those videos, and visit Eileen's blog for some fantastic inspiration.
Today is another card from the DeeDee's Digis set, Gifts of Spring (remember I mentioned it had several designs in this set?)
- precolored DeeDee's digi, with some copic shading, diecut with the S/B Oval Bliss. First effort, I did the out-of-the-box cutting to leave Bunny's ears out of the die. That didn't work out just right, so What to Do? Used scissors to cut out the oval, ditch the lace. Recut the die with plain white snippet and popped Bunny right over it. With all the other 'schtuff' it's not really noticeable that this is 2 layers.
- K&Co 8x8 spring pack (VOS) yielded the papers. Glued 2 different pinks, used a Darice Easter Egg EF to emboss (doesn't show up too much). Used a pretty piece of lace (stash) over the seam.
- Sue Wilson NYork Collection Times Square cut the frame from more of the K&Co paper.
- Suede paper snippet cut bunnies from IO dies (DIE168-C & DIE043-G)...2 different sizes.
- Fussy cut the posies from another print of this digi, and garnished the DeeDee's Digi sentiment.
That's it. The current challenge at Cuttlebug Mania is Freeze Frame. I think this one might fit in with that, and since the repair oval bliss & suede wabbits are snippety bits, think I might just mosey along over to give Parsnip a little hug. Sad to say, I've been neglecting him lately. I hope he will forgive me, and give me a big hug right back. Also saw some wonderful inspiring cards highlighted when I checked to see that a new week is open at the Snippets Playground (week 169). So com'on - check out these challenges.
Also, don't be forgettin' about Rudy Day which is opening on the 25th! Be there, or be square!
Thanks for popping in. (oh yes, I totally forgot my 3rd Blogaversary which was March 12th! So Happy Blogaversary to ME!) Hugs, and God Bless.

My credit card was compromised a couple of weeks ago - to the tune of $2,000!! Someone used it to purchase from Lowes online. Thankfully BoA caught it as soon as it was charged since the charge came from N. Carolina. Had to go through the hassle of a fraud claim, new cards...but they took care of the charge. I would love to know how the card was compromised but they couldn't or wouldn't tell me that.
ReplyDeleteYour card is absolutely adorable!! That bunny is so sweet!! I love all of the texture and layers!! The little jumping bunnies are so sweet!! Love this!! Have a great evening :)

This is a super cute Easter card Mary, love all the pretty layers. This credit card fraud is getting beyond a joke...I don't know why they don't tighten up on having goods sent to somewhere other than the card holders address, if there was an extra layer of security it would put paid to a lot of the fraud committed! I'll get off my soap box now lol! Carol x
ReplyDeleteHi Mary sorry to hear about your credit card some people have no morals at all.. I love your card its so cute lots of huggles Sue xx
ReplyDeleteYour pretty card...really does remind me that spring is on the way...
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your card...we've been through that too. In my case my credit card company let me know that they had put a stop on my card for suspicious activity...but not until it was used four times. I remember the hassle and the reports I had to fill out. I didn't have to pay for any of the charges because they knew that I didn't make them. I wish there would be more safe guards that could be put on our cards.
Great card Mary. Love the shading on your bunny and the little brown bunnies are so cute. Lots of fun layers.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you managed to catch this credit card thievery and put an end to it! Hopefully they catch him in person too.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, Mary. That bunny is fun, fun, fun! I need to get two special ones made here but am really late this year to work on them! My bad!
Sorry to read about your c/c Mary, there really as some sad individuals out there. Having recently had my computer hacked and one account plundered fully understand how it makes you feel.
ReplyDeleteOn to your card and it's a beauty, full of all things Spring.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a happy looking rabbit! Could it be the little ones are made of chocolate? Love the doilies and framing! A very pretty card. Hope the sun shines for you today!
ReplyDeleteOh this is lovely Mary - a perfect Ester card. LOVE the bunnies :) And so does Parsnip of course.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pain about the credit card - our CC company uses spending profiling which is a good help. BUT, it deosn't stop peeps from trying it on - last time we went to Thailand our joint card was compromised (and we know it was the check-in girl at the Thai Air desk in London). Often the villains put through a small test purchase - our CC company picked it up right away (why would I be buying cheap tioletries from the USA?). Hope it all gets sorted out fine.
Hugs

These hackers are so good, to bad they don't work to help stop this sort of thing. We had fraudulent activity once too to a few thousand dollars, we filed our claims, were issued new cards and we weren't responsible. A hassle yes, but in the end worth it. Now I'm very careful to watch my statements and check them often.
ReplyDeleteI love, love this sweet card Momma Mary. That bunny is so cute, it sure looks like spring has sprung too. I love the lace and the oval mat-so pretty. The papers are fabulous and of course these little chocolate bunnies are to cute. Hugs, Brenda

Absolutely adorable card! Every detail is perfect, I especially like the little suede bunnies. So sorry to hear about your credit card fraud. Donna
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a pain when your cards get compromised ? I had a call on Friday 13th to ask if I was making a payment then when we went through recent transactions I realised there were more! Garr!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card there Mary. Love the bunny. See you in the Playground as I too need a hug from Parsnip! My chest infection has returned with a vengeance! 😞

Oh, what an adorable bunny and gorgeous card, Mary. I love it to bits. The little suede bunnies are just cute as it gets, too. You did some really nice fussy cutting on the flowers.
ReplyDeleteI always match receipts with credit charges and keep up with it all. We did get a couple of calls from gasoline card companies when someone charged food on our card, which we never do and also when someone was charging out of state at a time we don't usually travel there. They were on the ball and caught it. They called before we even got the charges on a statement. I guess immediately when the charges were made. Good for them!
So sorry to hear about your troubles Mary!
ReplyDeleteYour card is darling!!
That bunny is so cute. The lacy dies and chocolate bunnies are sweet embellishments. I'm so glad you were watching your credit cards.
