Rudolph Day - March 2015

Good afternoon Dear Bloggers, and thanks for joining me here in sunny South Florida. We had a fairly uneventful trip south. However, when we got into Florida, we had a hellacious rain storm, with poor visibility, extremely heavy rain...and all the traffic was moving slowly with flashers on. (I would have opted to pull off the road had I been driving! - but that's not always the safest thing to do either). Then about the time we stopped for a late supper, Mr. started feeling an upset tummy; didn't even feel up to drinking a coke...which usually will settle a queasy tummy. Once back on the road, had a couple of barfs, so good thing we had some grocery bags in the back with him. He's better this morning, so doesn't appear to be a 'bug' that he brought down to share with everyone else. I told him "Looks like we best quit bringing you back to Florida".

I scurried to finish a card for Rudy Day the night prior to our departure. My 1st attempt ended in failure when I tried to use a S/B border die to pretty up an edge. So this is the do-over one, which just had white & silver colors.

- front of the card, used a Karen Burniston pop-up die (may be correctly called a pivot die - sorry not remembering the name of it) - purchased when my friend Gloria & I took a class last year. First use of the die  .....hmmm, a NBUS?.... and I had to remember how to use it!

S/B scalloped border die & some Starform outline stickers to dress it up a mite.

- Here's the inside view. As I said, this was a very fast card, since I wanted to have something for Miz Mo's March Rudolph Day.

Just now realized that this will also fit in with Our Darnell's NBUS Challenge #4 as well. Oh what fun it is to play along.

I hope all of you will pop over to both of these super fun challenges to see some fabulous inspiration, play along, and get to know some super lovely people.

Thanks for joining me today. In case you didn't notice, my usual Kylie watermark is missing. Those files are on the desktop back in SCarolina. Tried to think of all the files that needed to get copied onto the laptop, and drat it, always forget something. Hope you're all set for a wonderful weekend wherever you are. Big Hugs & God Bless.

  1. Such a fabulous card Mary, love the trees, and the border is so pretty too, lovely!
That rain sounds really bad, I thought it was bad here but that sounds worse, today we have had the most lovely sunshine, it's chilly, but at least the sun made a show so we mustn't moan, it's given a really bad weekend though, should have known it was too good to last.
    Have a good weekend Mary.

  12. Hi Mary,
oh what a very lovely white Rudolf, and Nbus creation.
Love the fab cut out trees, and your great design.
So sorry to hear your hubby was feeling ill on your trip, and so glad the next day he was better.
That weather sounded awful, and I too hate being out driving in such weather, as you say your not sure what to do for the best, and there is always some idiot that thinks he knows better, and goes too darn fast.
Enjoy the rest of your visit, and I do hope you have a very safe journey home.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  20. An eventful start to your Florida trip Mary, I recall being there in the hurricane season once, dreadful weather as you describe but being from the UK the weirdest thing was it was still so warm.

Your WOW card is a delight, they always scare me but you have instilled some confidence to try again.

  33. This is a great card, especially when opened, it certainly makes an impact.

Poor hubby, hope he wasn't the same as most men I know and really playing up being ill LOL. I hope he is a LOT better now. Florida is liable to problems for him poor man.

I don't like travelling in rain like that, we've done it a few times, certainly keeps you on your toes, just watching what others are doing.

Your card is so FUN! I mean it's very pretty, of course, but it's also fun! It reminds me of making paper snowflakes when I was a kid! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #4!! Enjoy Florida!! Hugs, Darnell
