Christmas Card Club - Pink and White

Good Afternoon and Happy Father's Day. Apologies to my Christmas Card Teamies for being tardy on getting this post done. So let's get started! Today's CCC challenge was selected by our Miss Karen P.  who wanted to see Pink and White, with possible accents of black, silver or gold. I don't use a lot of pink (although I do like pink). Since some of the new brusho colors finally arrived in the mail, and among these was the Rose Red...that's where I started.

First sprayed the card stock with a frost spray that I thought would be sort of silvery...uh-oh...it was sort of a frosted blue. Well, ok, I can work with that  :-); so while it's still wet, sprinkled Rose Red & white brusho crystals over and let the magic happen.

- MBox Pine Trio Background die cut out the pink. A Darice Snowflake EF was treated with Versamark, and then embossed the pink piece. Sprinkled Ranger Silver Pearl EP over and this created  a lovely silvery sheen - which still allowed the brusho background to show through.

- Cut the Pine Trio again with plain white c/s, and inlaid that into the opening, once the pink piece had been adhered to the top fold white card base. Cut the Pine Trio once again, after applying some glitter white c/s to a piece of Easy Cut Adhesive sticky paper (product is made by iCraft). Removed the backing paper, and it was very easy to inlay over the first white inlay, and this created a bit of dimension.

- MBox Vintage Merry Christmas die cut the sentiment from the same white glitter adhesive paper. Since these letters are quite delicate, I see that the M in Merry got just a bit wonky, which I didn't catch until I saw the photo. Oh well, that's my Amish mistake - LOL.

- Added some Starfoam sticker lines for a bit more bling, and lastly - some rhinestone centers to the snowflakes.

The original thought when approaching this pink & white challenge was to use the pink brusho background and work with a vellum poinsettia. You know what the old saying is about Good Intentions, right?

Do please check the cards my team members' shared on this challenge - their links are over on the right side bar. Thanks for joining me on another very hot Sunday afternoon, that has been rather lazy at our house. In a bit we'll be going out for a Father's Day dinner with the family. Hope the day has been a pleasant one for you as well. Big hugs & come again when time allows.

  1. A really pretty card, Mary. I would never think to use pink and white for Christmas cards, but yours is really lovely. I must get out my newly purchased Brushos and have a play. Why do those little pots seems so scary to use??? xx

  7. Pretty in pink. That background is incredible. I never would have thought to add the embossing powder over the whole background like that. I bet this really sparkles in real life. And I like the wonky M. If you hadn't said anything, I would have thought that was how it was supposed to be.

I hope your hubby had a good Father's Day.

  10. Absolutely stunning! So completely up my street, love that background! What a fabulous and great save too. I love the little peaks of the blue/purple that we can see - that is a brilliant and fabulous background Mary!
I have got to get myself some white Brusho - it's a colour that I've only realised I need after seeing someone else's post about it. I use pink quite a lot but rarely on its own. Going to try and come up with another colour blend for next year - it keeps me on my toes. I hope you have a good week Karen x

I love your background and the lovely embellishments.

Now you'll never guess what I am watching....A Man for all Seasons, I'm sure you will have seen it, Robert Shaw as Henry and the wonderful Paul Schofield as Sir Thomas Moore. Seen it a million times but still love it, there is also a very young John Hurt Sad to think that he announce last week that he has been diagnosed with cancer.
Came home early from work, so indulging in daytime TV. Hugs Kate x
