Watercolor Flowers & Stenciling

Good afternoon. In case you didn't already know this, there is a fun challenge going on over at CAS Mix Up. This month's theme is Stamping + Stenciling and your choice of some other options.

Additional options are listed on the right side bar over at CAS Mix Up.

Here's my entry:

Yet another effort with the water coloring.

Rubbernecker Layered Poppy Set 860 (bought in Florida on our last visit). Gansai Watercolors to create a background, then  stamped the outline using Memento Nautical Teal. Used Zig brush markers over the solid stamp included with the set, spritzed with water, inked the image.

- Used TH Flourish Stencil to add some dimension using Gold Viva Décor paste.

- the sentiment (which came from 2 different clear sets, and I don't remember which!) was placed on a stamp, inked with Nautical Teal. The focal piece is mounted on white fun foam, and adhered to a white card base which had been embossed with an old Darice EF.

Our family has a lot of summer birthdays, so this will take care of a June one!

I do hope you'll have time to join in with the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge for April. There's some AWESOME inspiration posted.

A lovely sunny warm day here in my area. Hope it's nice where you may be this afternoon too. Thanks for coming by to visit. Hugs & Blessings.

Such a beauty Mary -- I have never water colored a card but after seeing this - I better give it a go.
We are going on a little journey today - up to St.Simon's island and do a real tour on a trolley. I am slowing down on my card making - as if I could get any slower!!

Wow, this is a beautiful card Momma Mary! I love those flowers and how you did them, so beautiful looking in watercolor. I also love the flourish stencil and the gold color of it. The background is a lovely watercolor beauty, I think you got the hang of this watercoloring way better than I! lol I have not thought to use my Zigs to color on stamps though, so will have to give that a try! Hugs, Brenda

Great use of watercolour Mary and a really pretty card. The gold texture paste flourishes stand out beautifully and love the soft green watercolouring behind the flowers, and the whole thing looks great against that beautiful embossed background. x

I do like the flurry look of your water coloring, to me this style looks extra artsy. Not something I've dared to try out yet myself, but I do admire the look of this card....

These are both fabulous! Your watercolor is stunning as always and I am amazed at your Zentangle, I am afraid to attempt this, I will get brave soon as I have seen so many cool cards with this technique!

Wow! What a great watercolor background. I really like how those flower blossoms turned out. I am enjoying seeing what people are making for the CAS mix up. If I were to do mixed media it would be along these lines. Anything else just seems so time consuming!
