Good afternoon, thanks for surfing in for a visit. Today has been one of those overcast days you just wish it would rain and get it over with. It's been quiet, and I have just been a bit lazy..nothing that I _had_ to do, plenty I _could have_ done, but just not in the mood to do so. Had some oldies music playing, hunted through the music stored on the pc to create a flash drive to have the car. Just piddly sort of stuff. The telephone hasn't even rung today, which means no aggravating soliciting calls. Now that's a rarity here.
Today's card is the remains of creating this card.
Popped the leftover die cut background over a purchased card and added a die sentiment - think this was cut with 2 layers of vellum, and colored with a copic pen.
Ellentina Elegant butterfly die also cut from vellum. Bottom layer colored on both sides with copics in yellow green shades. Top piece of vellum was dabbed with versamark, heat embossed with SnS detail white. Colored in with a new set of KaiserCraft Gel pens. Wasn't sure how these pens would look on vellum, but the effect was quite nice.
Hope your day was pleasant or just whatever you needed it to be. It's lovely to have a day now & again, when you don't really _have to do anything special_.
And I will update on the bathroom project as things happen. Don't think it's going to get completed real fast...too many crafts people have to coordinate supplies, schedules, that kind of thing. Some of the elements have to be 'made', so that takes time also. Trying to be patient. Thanks for all the encouragement - appreciate it!
Blessings and Hugs

ReplyDeleteThe colours yiou used here are very pretty.
Another wonderful butterfly Mary and I thought I recognised the background from another card. I love the citrus colours with that touch of blue round the edge of the butterfly, just so pretty! As you will probably have guessed I have been away and have been having a big catch up session this evening. x
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that caught my eye was this pretty color combo, and then I liked the diagonal lines, but that butterfly is just insanely beautiful! Gorgeous card - you really did a great job on this one!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card Mary, stunning bg for this gorgeous butterfly, Cathy x

Another card with wonderful butterfly and lovely colours. Love it!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with a lazy day Mary, sometimes we need to re-charge the batteries. I did the same this week and took time out to snap the promised photos around the garden to share on my blog. With our UK weather so unpredictable have to do it before the rain spoils everything and I was just in time as it threw it down yesterday.
ReplyDeleteIt's another lovely Butterfly card and love the fresh greens and yellows on the delicate looking vellum and rather like the design with the diagonal element and of course the beautiful flutterly.

Hi Mary
ReplyDeleteYes your card did make me SMILE. Love the cream and the green and the butterfly just perfect.
Lucky you getting one of those days to just drift along with they are a rarity here.
Good luck with the bathroom. Our bathroom reno was to take no longer than 2 weeks. 6 weeks later...... Need I elaborate. Still it was so worth all the hassle and I could never go back to a standard bathroom. Give me a wet room any day.
Hugs

Coloring on vellum is something yet for me to try, I love the translucency of this butterfly's wings.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning and elegant Mary!
ReplyDeleteThis card is like a fresh breeze! Love all the green!
ReplyDeleteSorry for being so late in commenting! Last week was crazy and finally I am slowly catching up with my bloggy friends....
Love how you have put this card together Mary, it looks so pretty and soft. All works perfectly together.
ReplyDeleteThis is really gorgeous, Mary--love the colors with the white! I have so many days where I could do something that needs to be done, but just don't want to! I'll blame it on my newly almost retired status for as long as I can--haha! One day I do have to start my re-organizing & purging--just too overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteOh my word, this is beautiful Momma Mary! Loving that butterfly and your embossed leaves and inked background. I am going to have to CAS this one! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteThink I told you - about a week and a half ago I had what I hope will be my last surgery for a while. It is not the surgery that wipes me out but the antibiotics and the pain meds. So once again I struggle to catch up.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea - I never thought of popping a die cut on a store bought card. I have now colored over previously colored images from a CD and was pleasantly surprised with the result.
So upward and onward I say...
Sandy xx
It's green and has a butterfly on it. This card is a win win all the way 'round for me. Today we have gray and overcast too. I'm hoping for NO RAIN as the roof went and blew partially off the other evening. The roofer are to repair it today and hopefully get it done before any rain (then it can pour, pour, pour!)
