We have a grand niece who is graduating from high school and so needed a card. Did the colors to match the invitation to the ceremony - the school's colors. Bought this cute little House Mouse stamp years ago, just exactly for family graduations...always have to hunt it up. Looked through many plastic bins of embossing folders to find the one used here. After the 3rd look-through, and not finding the EF, decided to start a better category sort. (Found the folder TOO!). Had bought some brightly colored plastic file folders at the local Dollar store (Walmart has them also)...cut them to size, made a tab, and wrote down the theme category. I'm happy to report that 5 plastic bins of EF's are now sorted. I expect I shall be shaking my head later and saying "Why on earth did I put THAT one in here?". Still have some in the old blue zipper Cuttlebug storage bags that I started with - that need attention. But I feel righteous that I did something positive about some of the mess!
- Stampendous HM image, stamped with Memento London Fog, colored with copics, glossy accents. A gold Pentel Slicci pen colored the tassel on the ceremonial cap.
- S/B Opulent Ovals - die cut motif. S/B Petite Oval large cut the gold mat. Mat was done with Wow Gold Pearl embossing over white snippet, and the center of the oval was removed before embossing.
- Darice EF to emboss the blue background.
- sentiment & inside verse was computer generated. Printed on a laser printer, and foiled using the Minc machine. I have to say this _did_ give better & more evenly foiled results than what I've done with the Nuvo glue pen, but the pen is faster & easier to do.
Now the card just needs to have the green added inside! (I'm sure you'll all know what I mean by the inside green!)
Hugs and have a fine Sunday afternoon. Come again when you can.
SUPER image, and embossing folder, I'm glad you found it to make this wonderful card, love the foiled sentiment.

ReplyDeleteSuper card, Mary. The image is just adorable, perfect for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteI organised my embossing folders last year after seeing the idea on another blog. It took me a couple of evenings to do, but it was the best use ever of my crafting time. Whenever I need an embossing folder now (and I have a lot!), I just flick through my embossed tags to find the one I want, look at the number/letter on the back and I know exactly where to find the folder. The post I wrote about it is here: http://crafty-lizc.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/butterflies.html xx
So darling, Mary! Lovely in navy blue! XO
ReplyDeleteSuper cute & love the foiled greeting, Mary! Good for you doing some organizing & at bargain prices, too!

Mary, what a great graduation card. Love the little House Mouse. Such a cutie. And an awesome embossing folder. Job well done!I love to organize but I'm with you on questioning where I put what. There is always that one stamp or something that just doesn't seem to fit the category and will I remember where I put it when I need it. But it's a great feeling to get it in order and such a relief. I'm looking forward to having some time to get my stuff in better order. Have a wonderful week. TFS this wonderful card!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, just perfect for your niece, sweet little mouse image and fabulous colours.
