Good evening, and here's hoping you're all set for a lovely weekend. Our snow is all gone, and today our temp went to 78F. Crazy weather for our area in January. However it was so nice to have warm sunshine, and we enjoyed a nice ride down in the country doing a couple of errands in a little nearby town. We skipped driving on the interstate to drive on some state roads in what is basically a rural terrain.
OK, here's today's card. Colored the image while in Florida, but then it's taken me much too long to decide how to card it up.
- Stampingbella image colored with copics, some WoS, and die cut with a Sizzix die. Sponged the edges with DI Victorian Rose, while still in the die, and then used Picked Raspberry to drag the edges of the die cut image for a little more hot pink. Did a faux mat with the turquoise and hand cut that. Sentiment is from the same stamp set.
- Hot pink c/s was trimmed to card base size, and embossed with the Lil Inker Stitched Spirals Die (used the tan embossing mat, so that the c/s didn't cut, just embossed). Sponged over the raised areas with DI Seedless Preserves to get a little closer to the shades of these chicks' feather boas.
- MStewart birthday cake punch, a white snippet, colored with copics, and some WoS on the candles. (when dragging the die cut through the Picked Respberry, of course there was a little smudge. Hunted punches to cover, and a butterfly just didn't seem to be appropriate!).
It took me a while, but I finally got visits paid to all the lovely comments on the Christmas Club & snow posts. Sorry I was so slow, but life has been busy, and sometimes I'm just not in the mood to sit at the computer :-). For one reason, I sit down with some coffee in the morning, & next thing, it's noon with nothing accomplished. So I'm trying to do better about that, not even turning on the computer until late afternoon. Of course I can find other ways to waste my time!!
There's a new card on Cards By Friends, so if you have time, do enjoy it with us. Ya'll have a good weekend, and thanks for joining me this evening. Prayers & Hugs to all my friends who might be needing those just at the moment. Come again when you can.
Loving these chicks Mary, that background stitched card looks gorgeous.xx{aNNie}

ReplyDeleteHi Mary, I love the fun image and your layout, smashing colours too.
ReplyDeleteI am at long last realising that I don't always have to be doing something and that I've earned the right to sometimes just sit and ponder, which I still think is doing something as not only I'm I resting my body, but taking time to enjoy what's around me, there's always tomorrow, and if there's not, well I wouldn't be here to notice. Loads of snow here and very cold, you take care, Kate x
Mary what a fabulous card - love that image, and the wonderful way you have mounted it really makes the image pop!
ReplyDeleteBlessings

Hi Mary, Glad you have nicer weather. We had snow yesterday, but it didn't lay here. Further up the country it caused havoc. All along the north coast we had Severe Flood Alerts and a little way along from me several small boats were washed up onto the quay by the storm surge.
ReplyDeleteLoving the card. The image is fab.
Hope you have a lovely weekend. Sue
Oh I am totally with you on the 'computer time', I spend far too much time on it too and half the day has disappeared!

Gosh, Mary...this image is so adorable and your have coloured it so nicely! I smiled when I read about the smudge. I think smudge is my middle name. I have so many cards where the embellishments were placed specifically due to smudges...lol We are two peas in a pod!

OMGosh, this card is so stinkin' cute Momma Mary! I love those chicks and the way you have colored them. Your turquoise mat looks so pretty with the chicks and the pink background card base. Love that cake too, I wouldn't be able to color in a white punched image-but you have make it look awesome! I hear you on not turning on the computer in the mornings. I don't get much done either if I turn my on. Better to get on at night for me. But you know how that goes sometimes! Hugs, Brenda

What a swell image you have coloured so well. You can almost feel the feathers on the boa. Into the 2nd week of the Bathroom install. The wall tiles have all been grouted today and then they can start the nitty gritty of the basin/shower and toilet installation tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHugs Mrs A.
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteoh I do love this wonderful card and the sentment is super.
Your colouring of that wonderful stamped image is perfect, and very tweet excuse the pun.
Really like the colours choices too.
Sounds like you had a wonderful outing.
I know what you mean about sitting down to cup of coffee in the morning, and then times seems to jump to the evening.
Love and biggest hugs from my house to yours.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
I do recognize the processs, image colored and ready, but what a job to decide on the rest! I think sometimes I should color up more of the same image in such cases, because then I can make more designs and not spend time on pondering about which one to end up with. I'm not sure this makes sense, and I haven't tried it yet, but I can spend hours moving bits and pieces around and to decide which paper to use:). In that time I could easily have made three cards, if only I could decide. It's a cheerful and sweet little card.
ReplyDeleteSo cute the little birdies look...as if they are enjoying a Hawaiian holiday!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers
