Hi and thanks for popping in. We have been having some dandy porch swing weather the last few days. Golden sunshine, gorgeous blue skies (around here we call it Carolina Blue), and while it's still warm, the morning temps are in the low 70's. Low humidity, so that even when the afternoon warms up, it's still most pleasant. Like I said, good porch swing weather...especially with a good cup of flavored coffee, or afternoon cup of tea. C'mon & join me.
Today's card was for a VIP & special person, and she's received it, so am sharing it today. I hope you like it and I hope VIP liked it too!
- pink script paper was made with Dylusions sprays, then stamped in a cream colored Colorbox fluid chalk ink using an old wood block script stamp. Green paper was from stash. Each piece cut with an MFT angle die.
- rose dies (Ellentina Double Rose and Rose Bud)were cut from white snippets, colored with copics. First die cut these with a dark pink Bazzill, and they just didn't 'look right'. So recut and did some coloring, liked the look better.
- S/B tag die for the sentiment (opposite side of the top green DP). Inked Happy (HLS Bold Birthday Sentiment set) using versamark, then heat embossed with a WOW gold emboss powder. I've yet to find a gold EP that I like as much as the Ranger Queen's Gold...which is getting harder to find. Some pearls to finish off the sentiment tag, and that's it.
The numbers in the Members Faces at the top of the blog have gone up by one, so there must be a new follower. I'm sorry but I can't find out who it is, to give a welcome shout out and link back to your blog. If it should be you, please let me know that you're a new follower and then I can add your info to my spreadsheet...for when it's blog candy time! LOL
Thanks again for joining me this afternoon. This is a scheduled post so I'll try to get back to visit you ASAP. Big Hugs and have a blessed day.
I would happily come and join you Mary, I would even bring a bottle of bubbles for us to sip on your porch. It's sounds idyllic, especially when I look out of the window at yet another dull rainy day here in the UK, when I went to the dentist lunchtime the temp in my car showed just 13deg, so no Indian summer for us. All in all we seem to have missed a season or two this year. Do I sound paranoid about the UK weather, yes probably I do.
ReplyDeleteOn to your card, lovely your inky Dyslusion panel and the overlay of the rose looks really pretty, making a lovely card for some lucky recipient.

It's a beautiful card Mary and I'm sure VIP was absolutely delighted to receive it. Pink and green are one of my favourite colour combinations.

That rose die made a beautiful card. I'm with you on the Queens Gold EP. I bought an extra jar when I saw it in the stamp store just to have on hand. I'm so jealous of your weather. It was 43 the other morning and was very chilly. Sit out there and enjoy it while you have those gorgeous days.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card, Mary. I love the shading on the flower. xx
ReplyDeleteTHis is a vision, Mary! I love the burst of color and how cheerful your card is - just soft and feminine and very much a Victorian feel - the rose is a beautiful focal point and well, we all love Happy! ♥

This is so pretty Mary. I love the beautiful background and the subtle die cut flowers.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of sitting on the porch, I went out yesterday to sit and enjoy the sun, but the wind was too cold so had to sit behind glass and enjoy the sun. Just as well as today it's raining LOL.
ReplyDeleteYour card has a beautiful combination of colours, and is as it's sentiment says a Happy card.
Only very special people get pink roses - I am sure your friend loved her card - a real keepsake!
ReplyDeleteIt has been raining so much here I am surprised we do not float away. We saw our second submarine heading into the channel off our beach going home to it's base. It is always so amazing to me to see a real live submarine so close. Art took several pictures and I thought for sure we would have the FBI at our house that afternoon!

Just so beautiful and I love those colors on your rose, fabulous. Makes for the sweetest birthday cards.
