Another tag to share for Loll's Twelve Days of Christmas.
Here goes:
IO Patchwork tree Die was die cut from several different snippets of specialty papers that were in the Crapalanche - added some Nuvo Crystal drops for ornaments. You can barely see it, but the little tree stump IS peeking out at the bottom.
- background created with Brushos; used some Dreamweaver translucent paste through a stencil (translucent paste does not show up all that well on the lighter surface).
- Heat embossed the vellum using an old wooden sentiment stamp...It says "Peace" with some scrolly-curliques at each side. It is NOT showing up well at all in the photo, only marginally better IRL. The green looked darker in the pot than it actually heated up to be. Was disappointed in that. I might pull off the vellum and redo that. Added the snowflake buttons, some ribbon at the top, and Bob's Ya Uncle. I do like this tree die...I'm a sucker for those stitched dies!!
Ya'll have a great evening, and please do check out Loll's Twelve Tags challenge. There are some gorgeous tags entered AND by Guest Designers, that will just knock your socks off!!! Big hugs. Thanks for stopping in.
So glad the appointments were both good, and I agree about the lovely clean feeling after a clean and polish. This tree is very pretty using the different papers Mary and the background is such a wonderful colour and love the snowflakes. I am hoping to enter but time is running away at the moment. x
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful tag Mary. LOVE the colour of your brushos background. When I enlarge your picture, I can see some tiny snowflakes that are probably the translucent paste ... does add something special and texture too. The layered tree is so sweet. Great mix of papers and a great way to use up snippets! Love the design. Thanks again for sharing at my tag event. xx
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, Mary!! The background looks amazing!! I love the tree and the sparkle!! Beautiful tag my friend!! Have a great evening!! Big hugs :)

I'm glad the smoke hasn't gotten too bad in your area, and I sure do hope those fires are under control by now! Whew! That has to be so scary!
ReplyDeleteCute and fun tag with those pretty layers of snippets! I love the snowflake accents and pretty ribbon too! Take good care!
My goodness Mary what's this about Fires? Looked back to see if I'd missed something on earlier posts, but no. Anyway I hope all is well at your end.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tag I love the contemporary Christmas colours of your tag and the tree image, beautifully designed. Pleased to hear that your appointments went well, take care Kate x
What a sweetie Mary - love the tree. Isn't it frustrating when the embossing doesn't do what you expect!

Lots of lovely layers on this tag. I see what you mean about the "peace" on the piece of vellum. I thought it was just a curlicue.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeletewhat a very lovely tag.
I love your wonderful layered tree, and the wonderful colour of the background.
The tree looks so very pretty.
I have the Dentist next Monday afternoon.
thought I might have to go sooner as the tooth I had a filling in last year keeps giving me toothache if I eat or chew something hot.
I have heard a few people saying this with the new white fillings they are using now.
Love and big hugs from my house to yours.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

ReplyDeleteFun and frosty, Mary ... and such a fabulous colour combo! BTW, I laughed out loud at what you call your pile of snippets ... crapalanche ... hahahaha! Hugs, Anita :)

I love this tag! Love the colours used which are unusual and the tree...very unique
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the writing not being so easy to see, vellum is a tricky one to emboss on and to find a colour that shows up but is not too dark! I can see why you love the tree die, it's such a simple but versatile design and I love it in those glittery papers.
