The quilt front was made some time ago using a Gina Marie Quilt die. Thought the red & black might work for a Valentine card, if I added some embellies on it...
SU E/F for the card front, and this looks a bit warped in the photo. The eyes thought it looked ok, but the camera didn't. Guess a couple books will go atop this prior to inserting in an envelope. :-)
The bold sentiment has dimension added by a dark sticky-back fun foam. Finally was able to find the sticky back foam in the local Hobby Lobby. Glued that to a black glitter snippet...cut the quilt binding, the MBox heart border from the same black snippet. As my friend Lynn says "this is a get'er done card".
Thanks for stopping by and ya'll come back when you have time. Hugs & Blessings.
Great card...just loving that quilting die ...perfect for your background...and that super bold sentiment...xxx
ReplyDeleteThis actually looks more involved than any of my git 'er done cards! LOL! And it's beautiful! Love the quilt look background and that big bold sentiment. I still haven't found any of the sticky fun foam but keep looking. May have to take a road trip to the city - which would be nice anyway. LOVE your card Mary!

This GM quilt die is very pretty Mary and the red and black on the white is the perfect combination for a valentine. I love your added die cut sentiment and hearts, and the delightful delicate embossing is great in the background. It is wonderful you are able to get a visit in to Florida, and I'm sure you will have a lovely time. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a warm and cozy Valentine, Mary! Love that quilt and the glittery "love" and you've used my favorite EF!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt die! You've done a great job with it. And the little heart border is sweet.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really pretty quilt card, and I love that the quilted pieces are rounded, something I've rarely seen with quilt card dies! The big word LOVE is perfect for the front of this, but those little black hearts lined up along the embossed bottom look incredibly cute! I hope you have a wonderful visit and travel safely! We'll miss you when you're gone, so hurry back home again :)
ReplyDeleteA brilliantly simple yet elegant card Mary. Love the idea of a quilt. I've actually got one draped over my knees at the moment, my craft room is north facing and the coldest room in the house! Today it is freezing!
ReplyDeleteI've not seen this quilt die before and I am loving it! I love how you are letting the background shine through the quilt frame. So pretty and I love the "love" die across it! But I really love the hearts and how you used them. They are great lined up at the bottom! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteIt may have been a quick card using your schtuf, but it packs a punch with the dramatic quilt pattern.
