Good afternoon and welcome. Still not getting comment moderation emails, so I hope I'm not neglecting a return visit to anyone. I've tried the different suggestions people have offered to try to fix this problem, but so far...nothing has worked.
Some of our visitors have left us, some still here til the weekend. Doing bed and bathroom cleanup as is usual after visitors. Mr and one of our visitors had gone on a 10 day trip to visit their old navy buddy in Boston, so it was good to see them safely back home again. Daytime is nice 'me time', but the nights alone are a little nervous for me. I survived though. We've had some warm sunny weather after so many rainy days. And it's just time for Life to settle back into a normal routine here at our house.
Several family birthdays coming up this month. So here's a start on one of them:
- Think this is a clear PBlack stamp from a set - this was colored ages ago. The cake and candle flames have some Nuvo clear glaze added.
Darice die cut the image out (snippet)...edged the oval center and the outer with a sponge and ink.
- gray mat (snippet) embossed with a THoltz 3D leaf folder, then used the same sponge and leftover ink to highlight some of the embossing. Also put some of the Nuvo glaze into the little cutouts of that frame oval.
- VOS 6x6 pad of brightly colored papers were sliced into strips, adhered on a white card base at an angle.
- S/Binders cardmaker rectangles cut the outer black frame, and then used the inner piece to trim a mat for the focal center piece.
- sentiment die cut from black snippets and the very bottom layer was from a white snippet. A bit of that shadow white shows IRL, but I'm not seeing it in the photo.
Just checked and it seems that Pixie's Snippet Playground, Challenge #327 is still open. I don't seem to be able to play there much these days, and since I have quite a few snippets on this card, I'm winging over the Pond to see Pixie & Parsnip. (Doesn't that sound as though it should be the name of a fun tv show?!) Ya'll c'mon.
And come back to visit here when you have time. It's nice on the front porch swing still.
God Bless and Many Hugs.
Commenting with hopes this 'fix' will start making the comment notification work again!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie Mary, I love the clear PB sets, they are great value for money and stamp beautifully. Love the embossed mat. I understand your nervous nights. When Martin does nights I try not to think bad thoughts otherwise I don't sleep, even though I have my hairy kid bodyguards downstairs!! enjoy the porch xx
ReplyDeleteThe little mouse is adorable Mary and the backing paper is perfect for a fun birthday card! Hope that Blogger gets back to normal soon! Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteLovely card Mary with the cute image. Love all the layers of different backgrounds. We are having tropical temperatures here lately. The planet here is deffinitely warming up. About my store yes it's a brick and mortar store. But just a very tiny one. Tiny but rather beautiful if I may say so myself and very cosy. It feels as if you are shopping in the living room. And we did all the work ourselves after hours and in weekends. Me so very proud LOL. BTW I too still have problems with not getting any notification emails :-( Big hug Veerle xxx
ReplyDeleteSo cute Mary
ReplyDeleteGreat little mouse, he looks very pleased with that cake Mary.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute and love the bright colours. Think the emails have stopped because of GDPR. I have comment moderation on so check my comments that way
ReplyDeleteSuper image Mary and a really lovely card. Yes it does sound like the title of a TV show.

Hi Mary , I think you'll find your using the embedded comments . You need to change to the pop up box comments in your settings. When you then leave your comment you should see the box to tick which says ' email follow up comments' . Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteLook at my blog if your not sure what you should be seeing. Hugs Mrs A.
Your card is sooo sweet.
This is a really sweet and fun image Mary, and beautifully coloured. The die cut mat is really ornate and pretty, and the background diagonal strips of patterned paper go beautifully with the grey embossed mat, and its complementary inking using one of those background colours works well. x
ReplyDeleteCute little mouse, great birthday card. I sure do not understand what is happening with the comment notification stuff. Many people are complaining about what Blogger is doing. Never understood why, when things work fine it has to be tweeked to work better. Why fix something that is not broken???? I'd never get any cards made if I was always tweeking!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been using my reading list and when I leave a comment and see someone I follow I take it from there-love the cute image and great embossing folder

I just love this little mouse and you colored him perfectly! I love that huge cake with candles that he's holding, and the background looks so festive, colorful, and fun too! So glad everyone is home safe and sound again and they enjoyed their reunion! Alone time is necessary, but having the hubs back home again is necessary as well :)

I don't think the comment emails are working for anyone Mary. I could be wrong about that though.

That little mouse is so cute with his cake and many candles! Wonderful colors and patterns make this such a festive birthday card, Mary!Glad the men are back home safely and the nights aren't as unnerving now. Pixie and Parsnip would make for a fun TV show name. Frankly, I would love to see some good clean fun on TV that we could watch with our teen girls without compromising our values.
ReplyDeleteLovely papers, love the image and the die, a Super card Mary. I hope you solve your comments, glad to hear your surviving your visitors and that hubby is back home safe and sound, now you can relax LOL. Enjoy that porch and swing.

This card is adorable Momma Mary! I love that little image of the mouse holding the cake with all those candles, makes me giggle. I also love the die you used for him to sit on and that beautiful striped paper which is so festive! No comments are coming in to my email either on my blog now. Sure wish it could be figured out! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteYour image is just adorable and so beautifully colored, Mary. Love that gray background and the lovely texture and color you added to it. It's beautifully framed too against the fun, striped background.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a darling and adorable image on your wonderful birthday card. Great background for it too. As to the comments, I have the Pop Up Window which if I leave a comment myself and mark that I want notifications I do get them when people leave a message. But there is no Reply below the comments so I just try to thank people when I do the first comment myself. Not the nicest way to do it, but it works. I sure hope they fix it soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bright and cheery birthday card Mary. The little mouse is adorable and the background paper is so fresh and pretty. I'm glad you had a good time with your visitors, and your husband returned home safely.

ReplyDeleteWhat a cheerful and utterly adorable card Mary!!
ReplyDeleteI have had to get used to being on my own at night - I often breath a prayer for safety, and He has never let me down.
Blessings

So glad that normality is returning to your home and that you survived x What an adorable card and image. It looks like he is so willing to share his cake or is he running away with it? LOL x The grey matting laying looks great and so textural and the vibrant striped paper layer sets off your card beautifully. Hope you are getting notifications now Mary?...It's all been such a fuss and in my opinion a fuss over nothing x
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely card Mary - it really made me smile. Cute image and such great colours too. And Parsnip and I both smiled together to see you back with us in the Snippets Playground! We do mis our friends when they don't come and play. A little white bear just mooches around, sighing and polishing the swing he has reserved for you :)
