Good morning, and welcome. Saturday we had to travel to our hometown to attend the funeral of a cousin. Since the 2 older brothers don't drive, and both felt like our Dad's family should be represented, we got up early and made the 3+ hour trip. This is the card I sent to the family, along with a nice arrangement from our families.
- Gina K Arranged with Love clear set (Melanie Muenchinger) stamped with Memento Desert Sand, colored with copics. My first effort was a watercolor try, using embossing ink, Ranger Queen's gold, and Zig markers. At first I was very unhappy with the attempt, but I've tried to look at the piece later, and not criticize myself so much. I might share it as a card later. I thought the softer colors of this piece looked more appropriate. This is a lovely image to color with copics.
S/B Decorative rectangle die (I don't remember the name!) to die cut with a pierced edging. It didn't get placed 'just so', and I trimmed off some of the edges, then versamarked, gold embossed and thought it looked ok. This set has some other sentiments with it, which makes it versatile. You can also ink up one of the roses and add it for dimension. Didn't think this was the occasion to do such, as I wanted to keep it simple, but hopefully pretty & tasteful.
Added an embossed piece of cardstock, which was adhered to a white card base.
Been trying to scope out why no email notification of comments is coming into the mail address I have in the blog settings. Happened to think that I set this blog up with a Hotmail account (and of course Hotmail has changed the way it looks and I don't use it often.) That Hotmail account was hacked a few years ago, which caused me to delete all the contacts and basically quit using it. So figured out how to log in to the Hotmail account, and there were a BUNCH of comments - that have to be the notifications! Worked on trying to change the Hotmail setting originally used for blogger. The instructions I found said to send an invite to the preferred address, and you accept the invite and add that address as an author. Which you can then change that to Admin, and go delete the old Hotmail. Well, I've not got it to work yet, so of course I can't delete the Hotmail address! Arrrgggh!
Ya'll have a nice day. Big hugs to any needing one, and folks, it's starting to get right hot around our area!
Hi Mary, That's a nice card.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are almost to the bottom of the notifications problem.
Hope you are having a nice day. Sue
Well I no longer have notifications coming to my Hotmail address either???

Mine are no longer coming into my hotmail account either,
ReplyDeleteI have discovered that, when you open blogger, before you go to the reading list, click on 'comments' and then click 'awaiting publication' select them, then click 'publish'
I hope this works for you
Pretty card!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Marilyn❤
Good luck on trying to get Blogger to change your email and all that. I've tried before and it just doesn't happen.
ReplyDeleteI love the card you sent. GORGEOUS!!! It's colored beautifully! I'm sure the family will appreciate this thoughtful and pretty card.

Lovely card Mary.
ReplyDeleteThat is one really gorgeous card, love those flowers and the lovely colours.
ReplyDeleteMary have you left yourself a comment and then ticked the box that says "send comment notification to this e-mail address. Even if your setting are saying send comments by mail to...... this seems not to work you have to do it on the post, every time you do a post or you will not get teh comments sent by mail. A pain I know, and Blogger has supposed to have been looking into it for the past two weeks but they are not looking very hard if you ask me.

Hi Mary, sorry for the lost of your cousin...
ReplyDeleteThe card you made for this sad occasion looks so pretty and sweet! Love your colouring on the flowers and the embossed background.
It seems that you have problems with your mailbox, hope that now you could fix it!
Hugs
This is a beautifully coloured sympathy card Mary and I bet the first one you made will look good when made into a card too. I'm sorry the notification problem is still not solved but hopefully you are on the right track now. x

gorgeous, Sympathy cards are so difficult to make especially for family and friends. this one is perfect the flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe cyber world seems to be making our lives so difficult these days:(
Your card is quite colourful yet respectful and, I know how I would feel, a welcome difference from the more somber cards one receives. I a, certain they will love it. I hate to try to fix anything having to do with the computer so I hope you get things worked out.
ReplyDeletePretty card especially for a sad occasion.xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a soothing and serene card
ReplyDeleteCheers

A beautiful card you sent to the family. I love the soft colored flowers. My account was born with a different email address. I have clicked every button on blogger to try and change it to no avail. It frustrates me no end in case someone emails me there but I can't do anything to change it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a stunning sympathy card Momma Mary! I love the no line coloring and the soft colors are perfect for a sympathy card. You did a great job with it and it is very tasteful and appropriate. Zigs are so bright, and I think to get a softer look with them, you have to color on something and pick up the color with a watercolor brush. Not that I have any experience in it! lol But watched others like Kristina Warner do it. I have absolutely no comments coming in anymore and have to go to my blog and go under comments to be published to find them. So whatever is going on, it's going on with me too, only none are coming through for me. I don't know what my blog was set up under as I didn't set it up. But I am guessing Internet Explorer. I know the blog didn't work well using Explorer so I changed to Google Crome and things worked much better...until now. lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteYour copic coloured flowers look absolutely beautiful . You are way too hard on your self . The card is lovely. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeletePleased in one one Mary that you have tracked down why you haven't been getting notifications....however it still isn't resolved x What a peaceful and gentle card so perfect for the sad occasion. You must have been shattered after the long day....sending hugs x
ReplyDeleteYour card is just lovely and I'm so sorry for the loss of your cousin. Funerals are always hard, but this card surely brought comfort to your loved ones.
ReplyDeleteAs for the comments, I still have my blogger set for comments to come to my Comcast email address, but they no longer do. From what I gather, the only way you'll get email comments is through your Gmail account now since the new privacy laws went into effect. I find it's just as easy to check the comments in the DESIGN/COMMENTS/AWAITING PUBLICATION links in blogger. It's a different route to take I know, but then there are no email comments to delete either - and I used to have to delete each one two times - once for unpublished and once again after it was published. They are constantly changing how to do things and it's so hard to keep up with it all anymore..............sigh.
Beautifully designed card Mary, the colours are gorgeous, just perfect for the occasion, Kate x x
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card and so beautifully colored, Mary! Sorry for your loss!
ReplyDeleteHope you can figure out how to change your email address! What a pain!
