Welcome....recently needed to send a sympathy card to a blog pal who lost her husband very unexpectedly. Thought this image would work well for this occasion. Didn't realize until I saw the photo, that the central image doesn't look as though it's on straight. Why is it that I check, recheck, things look ok, until I see the photo?! Honestly, I do double check the cards...I don't think my eyesight is _that_ bad!
Inky Antics image colored with Copics and WoS, a Pentel silver pen for the rim around the oval. A S/Binder die scored the frame on the outer white oval.
Dry Embossed the background, then added a border. SU punch for the sentiment.
That's all folks! Come back when you can ...and I'm still having some comments stay "awaiting publication", some are coming into the Hotmail address and some are going into the spam folder. So I'm having to check several places for any comments, and my apologies if I miss you. Or if I miss returning a visit if you've left a comment.
Hugs & have a great day.
What a gorgeous card, like the blue and white border that compliments your beautifully colored image!
ReplyDeleteMary, before I open my reading list in blogspot, I click on the comments, and then awaiting moderation. You can then publish them easily
ReplyDeleteThey will love this card even if it’s a bit ...off kilter. That doesn’t matter when something comes from the heart. This is beautiful from the colours to the style of it. I am never straight for some reason.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Mary, I love the subtle dry embossed background and the delicate blue border. Pretty image perfect for a sympathy card.
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely! I really like the color choices for the focal image, the shades of blue are so pretty. When it comes to focal shapes I have the hardest time with ovals. I'll think it's positioned just right, but then it's not. Sometimes I just blame the angle of the photo because like you, I know I double checked it!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous, love the fab image.xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, Lovely card. I tend to deliberately put things off angle, as I struggle to get things straight.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fab Friday. Sue
Lovely card Mary - I think you lined up both edges of the image at the bottom of the oval, forgetting to check the overall look... just a thought. I do like the floral image for a sympathy card.

Pretty card!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

It's lovely, Mary, and will console your recipient, knowing you care so much. I, too, am discovering a decrease in certain abilities - for example, when I put layers on a card they are frequently crooked, no matter how much time I spend trying to straighten them. Also, when coloring, my hand spasms and jerks, so sometimes, I have big out-of-the-line boo boos. I am learning to accept my quirks and enjoy the crafting anyway. It's the thought that counts, and the love we put into our projects that matters. I've never had anyone say, "Hey, nice card, but a little crooked" LOL love ya, de
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card Mary, a lovely image.

Your bucket of flowers is so pretty, Mary! I love how the border blends with the design so beautifully! I have the same problem with photos and they do show up every little flaw. I think the angle sometimes makes it look like the design is crooked when it's actually not. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful sympathy card Mary! I'm sure it will be a comfort to know you are thinking of her during this very difficult time.

Hello Mary, what a beautiful card, it's a lovely floral image and I do love that blue border, I'm sure the recipient would have appreciated your lovely card, Kate x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blue and white border. It reminds me of my aunt's dishes a long time ago. The bouquet is gorgeous and the scalloped mat is so pretty. Blogger can drive a person up the wall. I am absolutely no help at all but I feel your frustration.
ReplyDeleteHow sad for your blog pal, my sympathy goes to her too. The centre is straight, I think, according to the jug? Love the border you used to enhance the image. Such a lovely card, I'm sure it will be received with thanks.

I love it and it is not so out of line when I look at it. I am sure no one will notice it. It sure is a beautiful card though! That they will certainly notice!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful bucket of flowers is perfect for such an occasion to let your buddy know you are thinking of her at such a dreadful time. xx
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful card Mary and love that coloured image and the dry embossed background with the added blue border is really pretty and elegant too. I think your image is fine, and like others have said the angle of the photo sometimes makes it look as though it isn't quite right. x
ReplyDeleteI've been having the same issues with placing elements and stamped sentiments straight these days, and I use a stamp-a-ma-jig, so there's no excuse for me! LOL Let's just say my brain has shifted to one side more than the other? Yeah, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! LOL It does not look crooked to me at all - it looks beautiful and serene - just what a sympathy card should look like! Nice coloring on that image too!
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous coloring on this and love the border which compliments your artwork so perfectly! I sure don't see that it's crooked at all. This is beautiful, Mary!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a beautiful card Momma Mary! I love that image, it's not looking crooked but I know when I take photo's of my cards, things look crooked-so I'm blaming the camera. lol I love the blue border and the embossing. The ovals you used is are so pretty too, love that they have a little border. Just a beautiful and serene sympathy card. No one likes doing them and I hate that we need them, but we do and you did a beautiful job with this one. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeletePerfect card for the occasion Mary, I have taken photos too that look crooked after but in RL they are fine, must be the 'crooked' monster lingering around.xx

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Mary! LOVE your bucket of flowers and how you've arranged it in the oval. That patterned paper on the side is just the perfect compliment. Amazing colouring as always, my friend! Your camera is probably playing tricks on you. Sometimes everything can be straight and lined up, but the camera sees it differently. Your blog friend will appreciate this beautiful card you made her. xx
