I knew the perfect stamp to try to watercolor, so hunted it up. Did it first with DI markers, then used some zigs to do the same image - just to see the results. Stamped, die cut, and then couldn't find either piece. Soooo....got the stamp back out, and redid again for this card, using DI markers, huffing, stamping with the misti.
Rubbernecker Cling Stamp
PB Snowflake die
- stitched die for the mat (it was handy, and I don't know what set it came from. Thought it would frame the fall tree nicely if I heat embossed it with Brutus Monroe Gilded Gold)
Here's the card and the stamp shown together, and I tried to color the image with the stamp photo as a guide. Couldn't quite get the reds in the foliage just as I wanted, but maybe next time. Put a little more green in there than Rubbernecker did too.
Got this Rubbernecker stamp at a stamp show some time ago, along with some florals. After I finished this card, picked up something on my desk, and Voila, there were the 2 other images that I had done. I swear, I had looked under all the stuff, and they were either hiding from me, or Pixies live here!!!
There's still a few days to enter the CAS Watercolor Challenge for September. Ya'll have a great weekend, and thanks for visiting. Hugs.
I love the card which makes me think of Van Gogh. I love the water colour effect and the fall colours just makes me long for Fall
ReplyDeleteYour tree turned out lovely and it won't be long until the trees start to turn glorious colors. Glad to hear the exercise class is helping!
ReplyDeleteYour autumn tree is so pretty Mary! The colours are so vibrant. I do love this time of year! Glad you were able to find the other two card fronts you did. Now you have three beautiful cards to send to friends. There's always an upside. :) Thanks for sharing with beauty with us at CAS Watercolour. It would also fit the CAS Mix Up challenge this month.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that the exercise classes are helping you feel better and gain strength with your breathing. That is wonderful news, my friend! xx
Hi Mary, Hope the activities help you.
ReplyDeleteLove the card.
Hope you have a nice day. Sue
A beautiful colourful card Mary...it’s a great stamp and the stitched matt is really lovely framing your image.....autumn has landed here as well and the temperatures have really dropped..we have had two storms this week so staying warm and cosy indoors crafting..xxxxx
ReplyDeleteYou did make me smile, I am forever losing things that are right under my nose, glad it is not just me! The tree is lovely in those gorgeous Autumnal tones, such a pretty card Mary.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that exercise is making you feel better too! Hugs, Anne xx
This is a wonderful card, and I'm so glad you found the 2 missing pieces after all! The coloring is wonderful and it looks very much like the colors on the stamp package, but I love the pretty die-cut edges on your layers! I'm glad your efforts are helping with your breathing, and I must admire your determination to improve with hard work and exercise! We all take breathing for granted, so it's likely most of us can't comprehend what struggling to breathe must feel like! My hat's off to you, and I really do hope this exercise routine brings you relief! Have a great first weekend of fall :) I will if the sun ever makes an appearance again :)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, Mary! Great idea to use the inspiration card for the stamp as a model for your card. I especially like the addition of green tones to your tree, in order to make the golden hues show up more. Beautifully done! xx
ReplyDeleteI love this beautiful Autumnal tree Mary and it looks wonderful with the pretty edge design and with the gold layer. Glad your exercise regime is improving your fitness, and your breathing will gradually improve I'm sure. You should start singing, that is great for lung function and fun too. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

Well done with your exercises, surely humidity doesn't help, but in time and with cold days your health will improve!

This is a beautiful tree, Mary! I love the colors and the artsy look of the tree! LOL! Those same Pixies are around here and hide things on me all the time! After they've had their fun, they'll put stuff right back where we left it. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!

That watercolouring looks so very real and just like Autumn leaves too.
Such a very fab design and I love the wonderful mats with their patterned edges.
I am really glad all is going well with your evercise classes.
It all makes sch a difference at our age to get slightly fitter even if it's for health problems.
I have been on a Diet excuse the swear word LOL.
I have lost just over 21/lbs and it's made such a great difference to all my aches and pains especially my hips.
Lots of crafty love and hugs from my house to yours. Jenny L.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall colors, Mary! Love your CAS water color. Those pixies are known to walk off with things besides images. I'm always missing markers and pencils and my pick tool. LOL! Hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteI have that stamp, too, and always have the same trouble with the red! You really did a sensational job and it's a beautiful fall card! High fives to you guys for keeping up the therapy! With that and the cooler temps and lower humidity, you will feel notice the difference day after day!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteMary, such a beautiful image of the tree. I love your fall colours traveling through the tree :)
ReplyDeletelovely card...haven't seen that stamp from Rubbernecker.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for playing along with the CAS Watercolour Challenge.
So cute, Mary xoxo
ReplyDeleteWow Momma Mary, what a stunning card! I am loving that tree and you have did it every bit as beautifully as the package has. I love your extra green in there and your red/orange looks great to me. I am loving those mats as well, especially the white one-it is so beautiful! Glad to hear that things are rolling along pretty good. I can imagine how tired you are after doing your walking and other therapy stuff and then errands as well, but so happy you are doing better on things that your expected. That is good! I hate to say it, but I think we all have problems walking in the humidity but I'm sure that will pick up some once you have strengthened your lungs. So hang in there! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteI adore this tree with it's beautiful fall foliage! So glad you found the other panels, now you can make two more fabulous cards like this one!
ReplyDeleteAlso happy to hear that you are keeping up with the therapy even though progress is slow! Don't give up!
Have a great weekend!
Gorgeous autumnal colors, this tree looks amazing!
