Sizzix Mechanical 3D EF
Altenew ink - brown shade from one of the cube sets to ink the inside of the folder prior to embossing
Crafters Companion die (found at Tuesday Morning, reduced price)...3 layers (white snippet) colored with various shades of Copic earthtone colors. Added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze after adhering. This die did NOT cut all that well, even using the nice metal shim that helps with most dies. I was happy that I'd not paid full price after seeing how much 'clean up' had to be done to the die cuts.
Done and done....I think I like this folder for a masculine card.
Thanks for visiting, and have a blessed day.
This is a great masculine card Mary, and love the colour you have added, and the large sentiment goes beautifully, sad that it was not easy to cut though. x
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful,love the background.xxx

Fabulous card, Mary, I have this 3D EF still unused, thanks so much for the inspiration! Love the effect!

Great guy card, Mary. Sometimes I get a die that just won't cut completely through. I try turning the plates over and run it through again. It might help. The plates get warped and won't press down on the die.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, Great card.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a nice day. Sue
That's a really cool embossing folder and I love how you inked it up. Great masculine card!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely cracking Mary, fabulous embossing folder and love the neutral shades you've chosen too, Kate x x
ReplyDeleteThat is just perfect for a guy's card Mary
ReplyDeleteYep..nice card for a guy. I shall have to try that with an embossing folder.

What a wonderful masculine card, Mary. I very cool embossing folder. Isn't it a bummer when things don't work well. When you have to fiddle with it so much to use it, it hardly seems worth the effort but you did a great job because it certainly isn't noticeable on your lovely card. Have a super weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great embossing folder for a guy card - well done on making a stunning masculine thank you card Mary.

Gorgeous card, Mary. I love the color xoxo
ReplyDeleteI think this folder is perfect for a masculine card and perfect for this technique! The crystalized die cut is all it needs to finish off a fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteterrific man card Mary!

So love this for a masculine card and the embossing folder is perfect. Too bad the die was a struggle for you. Now and then I guess it happens. It did not seem to be that intricate either so it must have been a warped die. Sometimes placing it in a different position on your cutting platform may help.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great EF for a fella and I bet the card was a lovely surprise xx
ReplyDeleteSTUNNING card Mary, love the colour and the EF also the die, strange that it didn't cut well, they usually do from CC. I'm sure he will be thrilled with this masculine and "handsome" card.

You have created the most wonderful male card Mary, I do love that new embossing folder and you have used it beautifully! Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteHi, Mary! There is something magical about dry embossed cards that have been inked on the debossed portion. It's a technique I rarely remember when creating, and it always WOWs me immensely when seeing it on other people's cards. It just looks so elegant and beautiful, doesn't it? Your card is fantastic for either gender with those soothing earth tones. It's beautiful! Sorry to hear about the die - I've not had that experience yet, and hope I never do! hugs, de
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card Mary, such a super embossing folder - perfect for a friend who doesn't do 'frilly'.

You did a great job on this masculine thank you, Mary! Love the coverage you achieve with an embossing bolder. I also love that color. Love this.
ReplyDeleteThat is one fantastic thank-you card for a male OR a female! I love how you added the subtle color to the embossed background and then added contrast with a dark die-cut sentiment! Just beautiful! I hope you are inland far enough that Florence won't have any impact on you early next week! These storms can be frightening in this day and age! Stay safe and have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteFantastic masculine card and love the monotone colour :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I love this card Momma Mary! It is such a great masculine card. Looks like another must have embossing folder. lol Shame that die didn't cut well but glad you didn't pay a lot of money for it. I hate when that happens, but every once in a while you will get one that doesn't cut well or you can't get out the die. Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWOW is right. This is definitely a guy card. It turned out great. Right on Mary.
ReplyDeleteLove, Hugs and Blessings.
