Good morning. Seems I'm doing Sympathy or Thank You cards this week. Still need to work on birthday cards, and hopefully some Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving cards too. Recently we had a good visit with a blog friend, and I wanted to say Thank You for some wonderful hospitality. The overspray waste from using brusho and other products still has a bit of paper left. Thought this would make a nice background sky for a Loon die that I have.
- Your Next Stamp border stamp...used some cube inks in shades of blue and purple, to complement the background of the Loon.
- Gina Marie Loon die
- Crafters Companion Thank You Die - 3 layers of white snippet stacked, then colored with shades of Copic Blue Violet...
I didn't think about this until DH mentioned it...the folks we were visiting have some very nice Duck decoys decorating their home. I hope they will enjoy this card!!!
Just for grunts and giggles, I changed the email addy for the comment notification to my old Hotmail address. Which I can now see in the Outlook that was in the Windows 10 operating system as well as my other email addy which I normally use. My guru set up accounts so that I can see these 2 inboxes, along with 2 other email ID's I had him set up because of these blogger problems. After trying many, many tiresome times to get blogger to send me a new subscribe message to that address, I changed it to Hotmail, and Voila, shortly thereafter, got a subscribe message, which of course I DID! So hopefully I may start seeing the comment notifications there. Fingers X'd!
Thanks for visiting, and ya'll have a great day. Blessings.
Hi Mary, That's a lovely card and great use of the background.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a nice day. Sue
Your brushos background fits the duck image perfectly. Hope you will get notified of this comment. Hugs Mrs A.

ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous.xxx
ReplyDeleteI lovely card Mary. For some reason, I am now getting email notices of people commenting - just when I had got used to finding them in the comments section of the first page on my blog!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect card for your friend. Beautiful leftover background and ideal for the loon. I have tried to delete and add my email several times to no avail. I'm glad you figured it out.
ReplyDeleteOh I love that card Mary, the Loon reminds me of fishing on the lake with my Dad. The background is beautiful and really shows the Loon off to perfection! Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteA super design and lovely image with great shades of blue.

I'm glad to hear that you have solved your problem with blogger's notyfing comments!
ReplyDeleteThis card for your friend is just delightful and surely she will glad the personalization! The blue brushos background looks so beautiful and just perfect for the fab duck die! Love how you matched the borders with the background!
Have a lovely Sunday!
Great CAS card and love the brushos waste-looks just perfect--I am on Hotmail and still no notifications--funnily enough I found an old yahoo account I used to use and there was 9,998 notifications for FB comments???

I'm having the same experience as Glennis's comment above mine. Last week the notifications began coming into my email again, so now if I publish comments in blogger, they now come THREE times in my email! Sigh! It's feast or famine :) I'm wearing out my delete button for sure! Love this card with that great loon die, and the blue paper behind it is fabulous! It's a wonderful look and a great thank-you card to have on hand, and I love the diagonal stripes on each side - it gives some perfect balance ;)
ReplyDeleteThis card is really elegant in shades of blue with that pretty Brusho background and love that duck die cut image, also the blue striped borders and sentiment go beautifully. Pleased that maybe your notification problem may be fixed Mary, fingers crossed. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful and dramatic card Mary - I am sure it will be appreciated! Do hope your technical adventures work for you. I am changing internet providers tomorrow - hopefully it will be all very straight forward - if it's not, my son in law will rescue me!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
Pretty card! I am sure your friend will love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card - love that little loon die - so peaceful and the brusho background is just perfect. Your friend is sure to enjoy the personal touch of this!
ReplyDeleteThis is even more beautiful IRL, Mary! The photo doesn't show the wonderful shimmer of the background and linen texture of the framing. Sitting on my desk, it fits right in with the decor here. We so enjoyed your visit and hope you'll come again soon!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love how things come together, Mary? You made this gorgeous silhouette of ducks, and the recipient has ducks in their home. So it will be especially meaningful to them for that reason, and then super meaningful because it came from your dear hands. Gorgeous creation with such a pretty background. I thought the border stamps were paper until reading your recipe. BEAUTIFULLY done, Mary! hugs, de
ReplyDeleteI love that you used the overspray background in such a wonderful way. That is a gorgeous scene and a fantastic card design. I did that a few times myself in the past as those overspray or inked up backgrounds are too pretty to toss.
ReplyDeleteLets hope the email and comments will work this time. You have been having a terrible time with it x What a wonderful and thoughtful card you have made. The blue and the white is so striking and that background looks fabulous x.
ReplyDeleteThis seems to be a problem no matter what you are using. I did the directions that Darnell posted and nothing. But then out of the blue I get this notification that you got when following Darnell's directions, so I clicked it and now comments are coming in. So go figure! Just random and very weird at how it works and doesn't work. This card is just stunning Momma Mary! I love the stripes on the sides, so pretty and balances out the whole card. The loon die is amazing and been on my wish list for a while. I love how you used it so if I ever get it I will be CASing you. Only my background probably won't be as lovely as yours! I love that background!!! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteA REALLY beautiful card Mary, AND they have ducks, PERFECT for them. I'm sure they will be thrilled.

Oh Mary, this reminds me so much of younger days! I spent my summers working at a resort on a lake in Northern Wisconsin. I love to hear the sound of a loon early in the morning as the mist is lifting off the lake! Gorgeous, gorgeous card!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Mary. I love the images and your fabulous colours, super design too, Kate x
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous background for your die! Very pretty card!
ReplyDeleteYour background is gorgeous for this beautiful die, Mary! Your overspray is so pretty and I love how it has the landscape in the background. Your friends are going to love receiving this in the mail. Hope the email change keeps working and you finally receive your comments. xx

ReplyDeleteHope your hard work with the computer has solved your blogger comment problems.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice re Google plus accounts. I have managed to follow or even google a blog name and then was able to leave comments on 2 more blogs that previously blocked me unless I joined google plus.
Your card is so lovely, Mary. That Brusho waste was put to good use! The loons are one of my fave Canadian birds. They are so peaceful and their sound is hauntingly beautiful.
