Thank You

Hi Fellow Bloggers...and I'm back with another experimental card. I've been seeing Washi tape on so many blogs, have been picking up some when I'd see sales. Had not used any as yet. Decided I'd try on this card.

The card stock is a lightweight Bazzill, embossed with a Darice border - 3 to a set, think it's called Flourishes. I embossed the plain side (not intentionally...), then used the Scorpal to add 2 lines top & bottom to divide the space. The washi tape came from Target's Office Supply section...I think there were 4 rolls- 4.99. It was in this greenish color, blue, red & yellow-y orange. This is my first try at it. I wanted to do a diagonal placement between the score lines, but it just wasn't working out right for me. Very carefully removed the 2 pieces I had adhered, and just laid them horizontally. At least I was able to get this straight. The diagonal way was being a pain to trim properly where it met the score lines. Used a medium weight vellum, heat embossed the PBlack sentiment with Hero Arts white EP, diecut with a S/Binders fancy label. Which tore on some of the little intricate scrolls, so glued down with my favorite Easy Flow & a toothpick. Don't think it shows. I added some green rhinestones. This one will go in my stash...and I'll have to practice some more. I like this look when I've seen it on other blogs.

So thanks for visiting today, and I hope you will have a wonderful afternoon. Come again when you can, and Hugs.

  2. That's the beauty of washi tape, it can so easily be removed and reused. For a first attempt this is just fabulous Mary. I have loads of the stuff, but have not got round to using it yet - might just do so now! Hugs, Anne x

  5. Your card is lovely, Mary! That color is so soft and delicate. Love the Washi tape too. I still don't have any...guess I need to break down and get some! You did a very good job of hiding the problems with your scroll tearing! Thanks for sharing!

  10. Isn't it a super easy and fun way to make a card, Mary?! I held off quite a while, but once I saw what the twinks were doing with some I won, I gave it a try myself. Since it was new to you, it was NBUS! Way to go with your lovely minty card!!
