All Occasion, Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground Week 86

Hi there, and let's take a little trip over to Pixie's Snippets Playground for Week 86. This card has a lot of snippets on it, so here goes:

- main image was recycled from a card (snippet) we received some years ago. I have saved pretty cards for years, with the thought that one day I'd decoupage a trunk with them. As with so many of my 'great ideas'...this one was a no-starter. Got the cards & the little trunk up in our attic room (trunk was a salvage from our daughter's college days).  I found a good use for the cards at least!

-The image was diecut with S/binders Label 5 - primarily chosen because the image would fit into the die and not cut too much of the motif.  The paper is a bit glossy, so when I tried smudging around the edges with a DI Faded Jeans, it took a lot of effort, as the ink didn't adhere well.

- faux cut a  red mat (apples & flowers dictated my choice of color & I had a red snippet handy).

- cardbase is a snippet of kraft. Under the main image it's a little messed up, but the SU Honeycomb embossing took care of that little problem, and when I add an insert, only I shall know of the boo-boo. Before embossing, I rubbed some Memento Rich Cocoa over the folder, and IRL it shows quite nicely.

- added some twine - which I'm reminding myself to use more often, then 2 old buttons from the button box (I'm calling these snippets too, cause these buttons came from my Mom's sewing collection of long ago). I love anything that has old buttons on it. Used to collect them from flea markets, estate sales, and everyone who knew me, collected them too! We have tons of them so it's lovely to find ways to use them.

Off I go to link to the Playground, and I hope you'll check out this link. I'm sure you have some scraps (or snippets - which to my ears sounds so much nicer!) and perhaps you might enter your snippety card.  Miss Pixie has a lovely prize you could win. My lucky pick arrived yesterday and I bet you heard or saw me doing a big happy dance! Let's be off!

Just installed a new keyboard & mouse. Since I'm a touch typist for all my adult years, I'm having a heck of a time getting used to the keyboard. Another one of those Smart devices, that is smarter than the operator evidently. Every time I hit the backspace or delete (or the shift), my fingers are touching something I didn't intend, and weird things happen. Grrr...

  7. What a pretty image, Mary! So glad you could upcycle it! You'd think they could make the keyboards consistent wouldn't you! I have a time going back and forth as the delete keys are different. Frustrating!

  10. Really gorgeous card Mary, that image is divine and you used it beautifully. The precious buttons are a lovely finishing touch too.

I also touch type, and changed my large sized laptop a while back for a wider screen - and the keyboard is just a tiny bit different as it's quite a bit wider as well. I keep hitting home instead of delete - sigh. STILL not used to it after months.

    Hugs, Di xx
