Hi and welcome! We've had our tv installer here all day, working on our Netflix & router problem..got a new router. And you _know_ what the drill is - when you install new equipment..then something else doesn't work properly, and requires a lot of fiddling. My computer has not been available until after 3:30 pm. Had a refrigerator repairman here as well. Something that should have been changed on the last repair visit, 2 wks ago, was not done properly...now we're getting frost on our freezer interior doors & on the food in the freezer. (think freezer burn). That came about from a control board being changed out because food in the refrigerator area, was freezing. Lost a bunch of vegetables, milk, etc. on that deal. To say we are not happy campers, is an understatement. This refrigerator is about 18 months old, was the most expensive one we've ever purchased. Worked great for about a year. Won't buy another one of _this_ brand!
OK...enough of my whining...onto my card.
- Art Impression Mice & Sweet Set image, colored with copics, diecut with Opulent Ovals. Sponged just a bit of DI Brushed Corduroy on the outer edges. I had airbrushed the background, didn't want the brown tones on the blue airbrushing. Trimmed with copic colored pearls that started out as white.
- cardbase covered with some Bella Blvd Itsy Bitsy Spider paper, from years ago. This was in a stack that got damp in the washing machine flooding fiasco a few months back. It's a little warp-y, but thought it would look ok on this grungy card. Spider is printed on the DP but I used some spica pen over him for some glitter.
- green & white S/B deckled rectangle diecut is from the reverse side of Itsy Bitsy DP.
- snippet of orange, embossed with my fav dots EF, smudged some Brushed Corduroy over this, to tone down the bright orange. This piece only needed to have about 3/4" snipped off, had already been embossed.
- snippet of white stamped with Memory Box stamp, cut with scissors, used a heart corner punch (the top rounded bit) to dress up the corners; airbrushed some Copic E40, and YR02 so that the tag didn't look so 'white'. Added 3 pearls colored with black copic.
- tiny bats from an EK Success punch - from a very small snippet of black.
That's it! I'm off to the Crafty Snippets Playground with this snippety card, as I saw a prize winning that is very much worth vying for. Check it out!
.
Gorgeous Halloween card Mary, I like the sweet image, the papers and the bats.

Oh dear, what a trying time Mary. These things do all seem to come at once don't they.
ReplyDeleteI love your Halloween card - it's super and all those snippets too. We don't really go for Halloween so much here in the UK although in recent years things have picked up. Mind you, trick or treat has been going for a bit longer - and of course Guy Fawkes night is quite a big event although most places now have communal firework displays and there are a lot less bonfires.
In the good old days kids would make their own 'Guy' - a bit like a scarecrow, usually out of old pillows and then haul him round in an old pram or similar asking for a 'Penny for the guy'. With inflation I expect it would be a pound (£1) for the guy now - although I haven't seen one for donkeys years. His eventual fate was to be burned on the bonfire :(
Here endeth some UK history :)
Hugs, Di xx
What a delightful Halloween card! Love the sweet image and the background paper. Glad you didn't have to toss it. That spider is so cute!
ReplyDeleteWow...you've had your hands full today! Hope tomorrow is much better! Your card is adorable, Mary! I never think to use those opals...must do so! Thanks for inspiring me :-)

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of your electrical problems Mary, why does everything have to happen at once (!)....... But I absolutely adore your card, such a fun image and I even love the spider. Halloween is not celebrated much here but I love it! Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteAwwww, I hate to hear that you are having problems with your fridge again!!! I know what it is like, as our ridge gave us a lot of problems too. We lost a lot of food as well and with food being as costly as it is, it is very frustrating!I get you on the router thing, get something new hooked up and then something won't work. Hopefully things are looking better today. Now what a fabulous Halloween card Mary! That image is too cute and of course I love the SB that you have it on. Love the piercing that you did on it too. Your coloring always amazes me Mary, it's always so perfect looking!!! Love that you can color the pearls so they match your project, not sure why that amazes me but it always does. lol Hugs my friend!
ReplyDeleteMary, your Halloween card is just the cutest. Such a fun image and I really like the added bats and spiders.....s-c-a-r-y. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for all your troubles. Don't you just hate having workers in your house? I had a lot of that last year as we had to get new pipes, then completely re-did our kitchen. Got through just before Christmas. All this start around April. What a year!!
Hey Mary Mary quite contrary how is the refrigerator now!!! I think I would move and start all over again - but no - the same problems would probably happen again. Write that refrigerator company and raise @&%$#! Maybe they will give you a new one,
ReplyDeleteYour card is just as cute as can be - I do hope everything is working properly now.
Sandy
