Thinking of you

Top O' the Morning & it's an overcast, much cooler day here in our South Carolina area. We're loving the cooler weather that we're supposed to have this weekend. Yesterday morning as we left for the eye clinic about 7:30 am, our car temp showed 63F outside. And it was pouring rain when we came outside to return home. A day for napping, which is exactly what we did, as we were up and out earlier than our normal routine.

OK...here is today's card share. Again with the Dylusions sprays. Another salvage as well.

- background created with shades of the Dylusions blue sprays. First stamped the butterfly in black - this is from a set of 3 small butterflies; then stamped randomly with the Inkadinkadoo gear leaf stamp. These gear stamps are made to be used with a 'tool' apparatus, but they are made of a hard sponge rubber, rather than red rubber or cling. I've yet to use with this 'tool' to make a pattern motif. I like using them 'just as stamps'. Liked the piece fairly well, then decided to add the weedy looking stamp. That didn't look _right_ - should have left that one off. After looking at it for a while, I decided to cut apart, and this is the top half.

- black mat was stamped with a small butterfly stamp using versamark, then dusting with Perfect Pearls in pearl & blue. Rather liked that, but it doesn't show too well in the photo.

- Blue sparkly mirror paper is on the next mat. Rounded all the corners, and mounted onto a black cardbase.

- Sentiment was a 2 line clear stamp which I cut apart to make a single line, stamped with Memento Black Tuxedo, diecut with a S/Binder label die- from the bottom half of the background.

- Self adhesive glitter ribbon threaded through the eyelets...and it's done.

- Tip: over at Stamping with Loll I found a good suggestion for cutting the glitter or mirror paper that has a paper backing. Check it out. My corner rounding would look nicer on this card, if I had followed this tip! Which I certainly will next time!

If you're experimenting with the Dylusions sprays, here is a neat youtube, that shows how the sprays can be diluted (they are rather intense colors) - also mixing in the white linen spray with the colors to achieve different sets of opaque colors. Hope you enjoy the video. I found it most instructive.

Have a wonderful afternoon. Come again soon. Hugs

  11. What a beautiful background for that pretty butterfly! I like the "weedy" things as it looks like the butterfly is in the flowers.
