Thank you...More Poppies

Good afternoon and welcome. Thank you to everyone who left sweet anniversary wishes for us.Each one was so very much appreciated. Our day was quiet, but pleasantly relaxed. Another very hot day, so we stayed inside in the cool air conditioning all day. We had an invitation to go out to dinner, but neither of us really wanted to get 'fixed up' to go out, and we had plenty of leftovers that needed to be eaten. Not a very romantic way to spend an anniversary, but it suited us just fine! A wonderful part of being married for this long, is: we are very comfortable with each other, and enjoy doing 'nothing' together.. which I find is a very good place to be. It's also fun to do 'something' together, but never have to feel that we must - to be content & happy. (My wisdom, such as it is ...for the day - LOL!).

Please help me welcome a lovely new follower, Gail of Gail's Place.

Gail & I have met on the HLS Christmas Challenge DT and I'm looking forward to getting to know a wonderfully talented new friend. Thanks for becoming my newest follower.

Remember that I said I'd made several cards with the very nice Rubbernecker stamp and here is another one. These posts are not necessarily being done in the same order as the cards were made.

- another Brusho created background... don't really remember which specific blues & greens were used. But isn't it so pretty? The stamp was inked with versamark, stamped over the well dried Brusho background, then sprinkled with some Hero Arts white EP, and heat set. The embossing is quite nice, but it doesn't allow for the shading as done on this card. Still a pretty but different look with this stamp.

- a S/Binder label 20 die to cut out the card. Decided I liked the shape so this turned into a shaped card, hinged at the side. The outer edge of the front piece was sponged with a finger dauber and Delicata Gold.

- 3 layers of white snippets cut the Elizabeth Craft sentiment. Each layer was colored with Copic 110 and then the top layer was colored with a WoS clear marker. Very simply done, but I like this card very much, and it's for a VIP - whom I hope will like it too!

Thanks for your visit, and come again when you have time. Right now - alas - too hot to enjoy the porch swing.

Interesting effect, Mary. Looks good against the brusho background. I wonder if black for the poppies/tulips would work too or even gold or silver. x

Wow Mary, such a different effect from this amazing stamp and I love the beautiful background. Martin and I are also happy to just "be" these days. We spent our early married years running a successful business and raising the littleys which meant little time together so now the boys are independent we are able to enjoy time for it's own sake rather than trying to fill it!! xx

I love these backgrounds that you do Mary, you are so creative and a lovely clever lady, I do love visiting your blog, your posts are always a joy to read.
Your Anniversary sounds just perfect to me, just the sort of thing me and hubby would do, we don't 'do' fuss so your relaxed day would suit us fine, minus the heat of course! LOL

Thanks for becoming a follower! I am returning the favor and will welcome you on my blog soon!
Btw, I am in Vermont and don't often get to Boston, so I don't know about the store you mentioned. Will keep it in mind when I do get down there, though!

Hello Mary, glad you had a day doing what you wanted to do.
We love to just do what we like rather than all the "fuss and bother"
Love your stunning card, the stamp is brilliant, very usable.

Thank you for your support. I am really missing Blogging.
Hopefully the "snooper" will go take a break as well so I can get back on track.
Hate the thought that there is someone watching!!

GORGEOUS! I love this, probably because it is a silhouette stamps - one of my weaknesses! I find them so versatile. Of course the Brusho background and the shape make it extra special. Thanks for the inspiration, Mary.

I think it's great that one can create such completely different looks using the same stamp! I really like this white silhouette look. I'm sure it will look great in black as well (feeding you with another idea here, you got me inspired). Lovely!
