Halloween

Hello again, and thanks for listening to me vent yesterday. All the aggravation we were dealing with, is  trivial, but it was getting to me because each issue has been an ongoing thing. Thankfully the refrigerator is under warranty but that doesn't cover food loss. We wait for the repair guy to show. Each has a company laptop that he brings inside -  yet seems to not have the 'history', so long explanations ensue; then we wait for a part, then wait for the guy, etc. etc. We also have discoloration marks which seem to be multiplying on the white door, but the manufacturer is not doing anything about it. The extended warranty company informed us that only mechanical problems are covered, not a 'cosmetic one'.   On the positive side, hopefully the next 'fix' _will_ correct the freezer problem. This is one of the French Door type refrigerators, and I really liked it for the first year, until we started having some problems that should not be happening with this kind of product 18 months into ownership. We've had cheap fridges that didn't give us this much grief!

I'm also hopeful the new router will solve our Netflix issues. Had not been able to connect with Netflix consistently, then not at all. It was my decision to stay with our free trial membership as I spied lots of tv series that I watched back in the early & mid 70's, and knew I'd enjoy them. DH said he didn't think it was worth the extra $$$$ for the monthly subscription, in addition to our cable bill, plus we had to upgrade our provider stuff. Then it still didn't work properly; each time the installer came out, it was another charge, because the issues were not really 'his' fault. Hopefully this last trip has the problem has solved. Worked great last night, and I was able to get my 'Doc Martin' fix! I've become addicted to that show!

OK...here's another Halloween card.

- image is Inkadinkadoo - had for a couple years. Stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored the black areas with a Spica pen, so IRL it glitters. Diecut with a Sizzix oval. Used the next die size., traced outer edge, then used the next smaller size, traced again, to get the overlay mat. Why did I do this? When I was smudging around the outside of the diecut, got some 'blobby' places, thought this would conceal the worst of it! Worked pretty good.

- Borders are from a MS pack of Halloween borders purchased from Michael's in the past. These are the self-adhesive backed kind that you tear out. The very top border is a strip from the same paper pack used for the background.

_ Authentique Thrilling Collection 6x6, which I just purchased... Thought the top of this DP would make a good border, but there's not a lot of it visible.

- Bats from an EK Success punch, added some Glossy Accents layers to them. Spiders were from a very tiny $1 punch I found on my travels.

I took this photo with the card flat, against a black background, my camera above it,. As I looked at the camera's LED screen, the card looked perfectly straight. Looks crooked here. Anybody got any tips for better pictures? I've tried having the card set atop various items, still don't seem to get a 'straight' shot. I turned on the camera's grid screen to try to help center the shot and get a straighter result. Helped a bit, but I'm still getting wonkered pictures when I see them on the pc screen.  Thanks for any help you can offer (and yes, I've considered a photography class! Not registered for it yet though!!! LOL)

Have a wonderful afternoon, and thanks for visiting. (and listening!) Hugs

  3. Oh Mary what a cute card!! I love them jail birds!! lol You have used fabulous papers as well, I also love those circle icons, they are just too cute and really dress up the card! Gosh Mary, I can't believe you have still having issues with your fridge!! Oh wait, yes I can!!!! We had issues with our fridge when we first bought it and Lowe's even sent another one to us to only have even more problems with the second one!! It wasn't until a local appliance repair store came out and worked on it. And I do mean the owner's son worked hours and hours on this fridge!! He got her working but not without a lot of sweat equity! I am very thankful to that young man cause now we have a pretty good fridge. Our's is just a side by side with water and ice on the door. Still when you buy appliances they should work for years not just for a few months!! Good luck with the fridge my friend, I am sure hoping they get it fixed. And warranties should cover everything!!! I feel your frustration Mary! Hugs my friend!

  4. How fun! I love the chevrons :) Good luck with all your electronic issues. Sometimes the things that are supposed to make life so much easier seem to cause nothing but more trouble.

    Best crafty wishes!

  8. Fun card Mary! Llooks great on that chevron paper.
Love the wee spiders...what a fab punch that is.

Bad luck with the fridge. Does not seem fair that they do not cover the door weirdness! Hope they at least get the rest sorted. As you say, cheaper fridges have worked batter and that is a telling tale!

  9. Back again...forgot to say that I have the same problems with my photos. I am thinking of gett ing a small tripod to hold the camera and see if that helps...if not, then like you I am considering a photography course.
