Christmas Card Club - Anything to Do with Food

Happy Sunday afternoon, and the theme over at the Christmas Card Club was chosen by by Lizzie of  Verity Cards to be Anything to do with food. Now I don't cook a lot, and don't have any cooking or food themed stamps. (well, actually I do have some fruit stamps, but didn't know if that would work in a Christmas Club!) So off to search for an appropriate digital image, which I found at DeeDee's Digis. I thought perhaps this image of a sweet ole gran (Lovin' from My Oven) might fit the bill. The file comes with line art, and colored art as well. I chose to use the colored images, but I added in a bit more shading in places with copics. Then tried to think of how to make it fit the Club's Christmas goals.

Here's the card:

- S/B label 3 to diecut the image. Shaded with DI Pumice Stone, then very lightly with Barndoor red.

- S/B Lace Doily as a mat, using some Christmas paper from the stash.

- fussy cut the recipe book and cooking supplies, added onto the fold out tab with dimensional foam. Tab had been embossed with a Brenda Walton Holly Leaf motif & then strips of the same mat dp added for top & bottom trim.

- Elizabeth Craft diecut sentiment using the same dp as the mat.

- another fussy cut supplies image was adhered on the inside, and I tried to place it, so that it 'shadows' the popped up outside image. The verse will go on the inside of the card when this is ready to send out Christmas 2014!
Thanks for visiting this afternoon, so lovely to have you join me, and I hope the remaining day will be most pleasant where you may live. Hugs.

  18. Now there's a happy cook on your card! I love that smiling image of grandmom in the kitchen rolling out pie crust:) The opening for your card is very clever and the attention to detail is amazing! If I had the energy, I might be inclined to go bake a pie - but nah! I'll let it pass :)
    Have a great evening :)

  20. A lot of fussy cutting on here and it all looks wonderful! Love the extra shading you did too. Love the way it opens up! SO VERY CUTE!!!!
Sadly, I have to cook but if I had my way, I wouldn't even boil water! Too much trouble. We need to come up with some type of pill that everyone could just take and be done with the meal! No grocery shopping, no cooking, and no cleaning up! LOL!
