Sparkle n Sprinkle Snowman

Hello and HooRay! Saw my 200th follower pop into the list this morning. ASAP will do the Random Generator gig, &  post the winner of the blog candy.

I am doing a Happy Dance, can you see me??? I said YESSSS when I saw that number, and DH came in to see what the fuss was about. He just said "Hmmm...that's nice" when I told him   :-[

Extending warm welcomes to: Alethea of Lilo Design, and for NO. 200, MaggieC of The SilverCrafter. Thank you for becoming followers and helping me achieve my latest goal. Please do take some time to leave some love and have a fun browse around these bloggers' fantastic work.

An update on yesterday's test: Mammogram was pretty easy...the tech is very skillful, takes quick pictures and seldom has to retake one. Found that my bone density could not be done yesterday - due to insurance constraints. Will need to be rescheduled for Jan 2015, to keep my mammo & bone density tests done at the same time & comply with insurance constraints. I was lucky that the bone tech checked my records to see that it had not been quite 2 yrs since my last one, else I would been billed rather than our silly insurance rules covering it! Next headed for a nearby Panera Bread & had a yummy brunch of mini-quiches, orange scones, & caramel cappuccino.  Then thus fortified, we did some running around errands.

Here's one of the hardest cards I've had to try to take a picture of to date. I've been messing about with the camera and this card all day.

- image is a sale stamp picked up on our Christmas visit to Sparkle n Sprinkle in Ruskin, Fla. Stamped on Xpress snippet & colored very easily with copics.   Just dabbed on various bright colors.  Used some spica pens, wink of stella on different places. Wink applied over the snowflakes then glittered.

Die cut with a S/B & edged lightly with BG0000 & splotches of BG0000 under him, for icy patches. Dabbed on a smidge of brushable glue using a toothpick, then sprinkled some Crystal Ice glitter over the snowflakes & the ice patch. Hat fur got brushable glue, then Twinkling Clouds. This product makes the nicest snowy look when added. I liked it so much I purchased a larger jar of it, so I don't run out.

- Card base is Bazzil textured navy blue, embossed with THoltz Tall Pines EF. Glue added here & there on the 'branches', dusted Swan Wing glitter tinsel over the glue. Looks quite icy IRL.

- MB Frostyville Border (988146) diecut from Studio G 6x6 paper.  I had seen this Youtube by Scrap Made Simple. Stacy demonstrates using a cutting die with design paper backed onto double sided  adhesive. She used Sookwang, and so did I.  Poked all the bits out, peeled the adhesive away, and didn't have to glue tiny places. Loved this technique, and will use it again.

Snowy was adhered to a DP banner (snippet from the diecut border), & sent to the top corner as I didn't want to cover up all the decorating. Frustrating trying to get a decent picture, but finally had to settle on this one. I've used some snippets, so this will get linked over at Pixie's Snippet Playground for Week 107. I spent a most enjoyable last evening being inspired by all the lovelies that have been shared by those Playground Elves, and laughed my head off at Miss P's poem. Trust me, you gotta check this out if you need a good chuckle and craft inspiration.

Realized I should enter this one in the January 2014 Sparkle n Sprinkle challenge too, since I used so many of their products!

My assignment this afternoon is to empty the hot water heater closet - which is by my airbrush table - so that the plumber can have clear work space to install a new heater come Saturday. Purchasing a new hot water tank was one of our chores yesterday.

Thanks to all you wonderful, supportive followers who have made my blog journey such fun. I'll be back with a candy winner as soon as I get the DH off my back about doing something besides sitting here at the pc & wasting time!!! (sound familiar? He's usually very good but I do know there's some chores that need to be done in time for the Saturday project). So off I go, Thanks for your visit today. I know I rambled on a bit, but heck, I'm excited.  HUGS! HUGS! Hugs

  1. Congrats on your 200th follower - woo hoo - still got 11 to go before I hit that number!

Your card is super and that snowman image delightful

  2. Well done Mary on hitting your 200 Followers.
Gorgeous card such a lot of work with this one - love the embossed trees and sparkle. Take care x Susan x

  3. Woot! Congratulations, Mary! I'm not surprised that you've garnered 200 followers! Love the snowman and the embossed and sparkled trees! Sorry I haven't been by for a while. Some kind of virus came to visit and it's not leaving like a nice guest!

  4. Yea! Congrats on reaching your 200 followers, Mary.
Super card you've created. Love the tinsel and used some this year on a card and project. I hate when I have a card that is hard to photograph. Takes up so much time.
Hope all goes well with the Saturday project.

  5. Wow! So many details attended to in that card. It is so hard to photograph the glittery and sparkly cards. I think you did a good job with both--the photography and the card. Congrats on the 200 followers. Blogger is giving me a hard time with my trying to comment.

  6. how sweet this is, Mary! Darling card! hugs, de

  7. Beautiful card Mary, I like the image, great colouring, congrats on reaching 200 followers
    Kevin xx

  8. Beautiful card Mary your coloring and wonderful embossed and glitter trees are perfect.

    Hugs diane

  9. Where you went wrong with this card, Mary, was to add the tech of a camera to the mix. I should have added cameras and this batteries to my list of problems. Just taken the dogs out for their final trip of the day. Up there, hanging in the sky was the moon surrounded by a perfect halo and round the halo was a complete rainbow. Stunning, but my camera battery was....... Oh yes.... dead flat!!!!!!. xx Maggie PS The card was great, by the way and I am glad I made you both laugh.

  10. Congratulations on the 200 - see I said it wouldn't take long! I have trouble photoing anything shiny or glittery, even Mirri sometime flares when photographed and spoils the picture, but this is fine. Love the image and love the way you have used the same paper for the border and banner. Also like the glitter tinsel on the trees. x

  11. Again, big congrats on 200 followers! I remember how excited I was to reach that milestone too :)
I love those sparkly trees on today's card, and the snowflake border is perfect for that darling little snowman image! Sweet sweet card :)

  12. PS I really shot myself in the foot last year over music. When I was arranging Geoff' s funeral, I was playing some of the music by Military Wives, and one song in particular suddenly seemed to express all the pain I was in and just how I felt. It was "In My Dreams", a beautiful song, but I cannot listen to it now, unless I am on my own. Thank you for all your visits, and I am glad you enjoy what I do and say. xx Maggie

  13. Congratulations on then HUGE number, dear friend! So happy for you, and proud of how far you've come! Don't worry...our DH's just don't always 'get it', but we fellow bloggers do! Cute card! Good luck on the challenges! Have a nice night, and good luck with the water heater job :-)

  14. Congratulations on your 200 followers that's fantastic.
Hubby's don't you just "love" them...........they are supportive but they don't have a clue what all this means to us bloggers!!!!!
Loving the effect you have achieved on your card, the background is amazing. Your snowman is so cute and wonderfully coloured.
    Have a great day

    Patricia xx

  15. Congrats on 200 followers Mary.

    Love your festive card. xxx

  16. Hi Mary, The dancing is great, and it can be classed as a bit of exercise!
All these test we must have, our Mammogram and Bone Density are not compulsory here , good thing to have for Insurance. I think they are compulsory in the UK as well.
Many other things are compulsory here, as long as it is financing the government.
Thanks for visiting my blog and liked my album, You keep going as well as you are Lovies Pumpy.

  17. Super card Mary - and a huge 'well done' on reaching the magic 200! Thanks too for the very sweet shout out :)

    Hugs, Di xx

  18. Super cute card :) Congrats to you for getting to 200!:)! I know how much of an achievement that is, the hubbies just don't understand it I guess (I get the same reaction from mine most of the time) Have a fantastic day :)

  19. Congrats on getting 200 followers!! Awesome card!!

  20. Yay on the 200 followers! Love this card. I need to get some of the sparkly fluff. It looks amazing!

  21. Congrats Momma Mary on your 200th follower!!!! I'm so happy for you but not surprised! It is always fun to come here and sit a spell chatting with you. Funny about DH, he will settle once the hot water heater is in. lol You have every right to be excited!!! I love, love this cute card and think you did a great job with taking a pic of it. I love the glitters on it, especially the ones on the trees. I also love that sure little snowman, he is just adorable! And I love the tip about using the adhesive before cutting out the die and i just love that die by the way! lol Hugs!!

  22. Congratulations on 200 subscribers, Mary. Heck, I only need 195 more and I can be just like you! ROTF. Seriously though, I know it takes a lot of dedication, and I don't blog often enough to build a following. SO, I'm very happy for you and wish for you many more faithful followers who can enjoy all your wonderful projects. What a great start to 2014!

  23. Congrats on #200! That's very exciting (although most husbands, including mine, wouldn't be as thrilled). Love your card and the coloring of this cute snowman is wonderful. So glad you shared it with us for the Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenge this month.

  24. Love your sparkly trees and cute image. Congratulations on 200 followers! I'm glad you didn't have a hard time with the mammogram. They are always dreaded but so necessary. I hate it when chores interfere with stamping. A little dust never hurt anyone.

  25. Congrats on getting there Mary - so happy for you! Gorgeous card, love the sparkle on the trees xx

  26. You did a great job with the photo - when you use all that twinkly product it sure is hard to capture! Thanks for using so much SNS product - you'll be a featured artist this month! Thanks for joining us at the Creative Challenge over at Sparkle N Sprinkle.

  27. Hi, Mary! I'm back with my other hat. Thank you for joining us at Sparkle N Sprinkle this month! I hope you will submit more of your pretty cards to the challenge in the future! hugs, Donna {Creative Smiles}
