Anniversary with Fall Colors

Welcome Saturday..I hope your weekend has started off great. We have a family anniversary coming up next month, and since I'm thinking Fall colors, that was the theme for this card. Kept it simple so that the colors & the texture would show to advantage.

- Background created with Dylusions & some gold tattered angels.

- gold embossing paste - has a bit of a gritty texture & is a Viva product found in Walmart - done over a MB mesh stencil. This has been my best effort with the embossing paste to date.

- Alcohol ink over soda can - die cut leaf.

- Gold glitter sentiment. Happy is from a Joanna Sheen die -part of a Happy Birthday set. Anniversary is also J. Sheen die. I tried to cut these with the soda can metal, but it was very difficult to get them out of the dies without breaking the metal pieces. Happy worked ok, but the anniversary was too fiddly and broke in the middle as I tried to release it. The cut out pieces did not cut through well either. Enough aggravation, so I used a snippet of the gold glitter! I also don't like fussing with saving the tiny bits for the 'i' so I usually just use a rhinestone or pearl. Saves on the nerves! (got that idea from my Pixie friend over at the Pixie's Crafty Workshop - aka the Snippets Playground. So thank Diane. )

Ya'll come back when you can set a spell, now heah? Have a great day and big hugs.

  5. Love that leaf and the gold embossing paste! Remember what I said about not buying any more? Well forget that! Next time I'm at Walmart I'm checking that stuff out. I assume it's in the craft dept.? Love the leaf and may have to drink a soda so I can cut up a can to color. This would work for the Mixed Media Challenge this month if you want to enter it there. http://themixedmediacardchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

  6. I do love your metal leaves. Unfortunately I don't have a leaf die, and I am not risking putting a soda can through my silhouette! The colours are so vibrant. I have found all the Viva products I have tried, very good, but I must say my favourite paste is Imagination crafts sparkle medium. I love everything about this card. Kate x

    super card yet again.
All those lovely textures too, and the colour is amazing.
You are so clever with that soda can leaf.
Still haven't tried this even after cutting up a soda can ages ago.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  10. Love this one Mary, the colours are so vibrant and your soda can leaf looks really lovely.
I know what you mean about the dots over the i, the other week I fiddled about sticking three of them together when making a layered greeting only to find that it had completely disappeared, never to be seen again when I went to stick it to the card.

  29. Beautiful leaf. Do you get sharp edges when you cut the soda can? Clumsy as I am I would really hurt myself! I love the look of alcohol inks on the metal.

  32. Wow! I love, love the colors on this beautiful card Momma Mary! The leaf looks amazing and so real, like it just fell off the tree. I love the gold embossing paste and can't believe you got that at Wal-Mart. I think you did a great job at the embossing paste and I can't even imagine how hard it was to do the sentiment out of the metal, but it looks fabulous! Good for you for not fiddling with the tiny dot for the eye, I love the rhinestones or pearls better. Hugs, Brenda
