Christmas Card Club with a DeeDee's Digi Snowman

Hello on a pleasantly cool Sunday afternoon. Today is the bi-monthly Christmas Card Club Challenge, and today our challenge theme was to be something with "S"...selected by our own Hazel.

DeeDee's Digi-s had the cutest Caroling Snowman that was just waiting for an opportunity to be put to work. This "S" challenge seemed perfect, so here is - Ta-DA...Mr. Caroling Snowman and his Snowflakes.

- PRECOLORED image(oh I LOVE those!) shaded with some copics, WofLuna & WofStella, with a bit of red Smooch on his heart buttons. Stickles Stardust on the falling snowflakes as well as the snowbank Mr. Snowbank rests upon. Some Sparkle n Sprinkle Twinkling Clouds sprinkled over the wet Stickles to add some snow. This product does create a very realistic snow look. Mr. Snowman was die cut with a S/B die, embossed the edges and then while still in the die, sponged on some DI Stormy Skies.

- Die-Versions Snow Flurries - smallest of the dies - from a snippet of silver mirror paper. These 2 dies from a 5 die set were just the right size to fit in places of the snippet so that more of it could be used.

- Darice Sheet Music EF was covered with Memento Danube Blue ink, then a piece of white c/stock was embossed. This folder was not large enough to look well with the size of Mr. Snowman, so it was split in half, and a snowflake design paper from MME's 6x6 'Tis the Season was embossed with another Darice Holly EF (you can't really see the embossing- sorry!), then an MS border punch was used on each edge.

- Greeting is from the same set as the Caroling Snowman, die cut with a S/B die. Used some blue ink to stencil around the die before removing from the S/B. Sideways placement to avoid covering up Mr. S.

This little guy will be linked to the Snippets Playground Week 141 since the snowflakes & the sentiment were cut from Snippets.

Come to think of it, there's a NBUS challenge #2 going on over at Our Darnell's place and I've wanted to join in the fun. Since the Die-Version die is definitely a NBUS, as is the Sheet Music EF, I think I'm gonna jump in.

There's a new September Challenge going on over at DeeDee's that you might want to check out & perhaps enter. I'll be back later with the featured digi of the month over at DeeDee's.

In the meantime, sending Big Hugs and prayers that you are enjoying a marvelous afternoon, and getting ready to face whatever the coming week has awaiting you. As always, many thanks for joining me today.

EDIT: I'm trying to do too many things this afternoon! I forgot to say you can see the Christmas Club Member list over in the right sidebar, and if you've got a few moments, do check out the links and enjoy some delightful Christmas cards with something "S".

  11. Your inking is superb as always and it so suits your sweet little snowman.
Another lovely card added to the finished Christmas cards box...YAY!

I am so glad to be home...Finally I can play with any supplies that i want. First I have to clean out my room as I am in a major purge and organize mood.
Making the hundred cards without spending hardly made a dent in my room...still everything is bursting with paper, ribbon, etc and I am sick of the feeling. I feel like this every year when I haul the lake stuff home as the laundry, the linens etc all sit in my scraproom over the winter...uggggh.

    Neatly boxed up but still...

So I am on a mission to clear out a slef unit so it can go in there and I can close the door on it all! teeehee

I have a lot of stuff that others gifted to me and it was never my style...so off the the thrift shop it goes and it can get a new owner who loves it more than I...Wish me luck!

  26. Mr. Snowman is a cutie and your snow came out great. I really like the S/B dies you used. And what a creative fix for an EF that is a bit too small for what you want to do. I'll have to remember that one. Great card.

  31. Don't know what is happening with Blogger but I definitely left a comment on your fabulous card last week Mary. This has happened quite a lot lately and I keep going back to check and quite often the comment is not there. Anyway, I love your snowman singing his heart out, bless him! Hugs Christine xx
