Congratulations with an LOTV topper

Good morning, and WHEE, it's Saturday. Even though I've been retired for a while, I still love Saturdays - and Friday evenings. Silly--yes I know. I worked longer years than I've been retired, so I guess that's my excuse. You know what? I think I got more done when I worked. I guess because I had to manage my time better. Now I can tell myself, "Oh well, I'll get it done tomorrow". Then I go take a nap or find another way to piddle away my time.

OK, here's my card to share this morning:

- LOTV topper that I've had for a while, and thought it was appropriate for the occasion. Diecut with the MFT pierced circle and edged around the outside with DI..Antique Linen and a bit of Broken China to blend with the DP. Card base was a pale blue parchment type of paper.

- banner is a Dylusions sprayed piece, sentiment done with Elizabeth Craft die.

- MS punched Butterfly & border trim,

- EK Success punched photo corners.

- Think this is a Sizzix EF, but I can provide specifics if you ask.

I hope you are staying cozy & warm where you are. We've been fortunate to have beautiful sunshine, but the temps have been low for our area. We were having some cement done by the shed to enlarge the entryway where DH has to drive out his lawnmower. So we're hoping that no rain shows up until it's cured in well. Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for your visit this morning. Hugs!

  4. That is the perfect sentiment to use with this adorable bear holding the #1 cup. You've made such an adorable card. Love the gold butterfly and will be glad when I see some fluttering around.

The yucky black birds have arrived here a bit early. I saw so many this morning and they don't usually come until February. And, I saw a couple robins in the yard. Hope Spring comes early, but doubtful.
    Have a great weekend.

  11. Mary this card is just precious. Love the colors. Love that gold butterfly and corner treatments. We are topping out at 30 degrees today, which is like a heat wave compared to this past week. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your cement cures before any rain hit. Enjoy the weekend.

  12. A sweet congratulations card with such pretty colors. I agree with deciding I'll do it tomorrow. When I find myself rushing I have to stop and think I have plenty of time to get that done. Hubby does that too. When we're out he wants to hurry home and I ask "what else do you have to do?" It's hard to get used to having all this time on our hands.

  13. What a cutie and love the background and that butterfly!
I'm totally the same way and just know I was better organized and got more accomplished when I was still working.....but wouldn't trade retirement for anything!

  16. Hi Mary, Your card is so adorable. Love that sweet image... so cute. I know what you mean about Friday night and Saturdays. Even though Saturday is just like Monday-Friday at our house now, too, it still feels... different somehow! Like you said, must just be all those years of conditioning.

  19. Well I might have just lost my entire comment. Let me know if it didn't go through! I adore the card Momma Mary. I also still love Friday's and Saturdays, to me they will always be precious. I think we all managed our time better when we worked because we had too. But isn't this what retirement is all about, doing what you want when you want? Putting things off until another day just because we can?! lol Hugs!

  20. Such a cute card! I agree that I used to get more done with I worked two jobs and worked seven days a week. Everything was always done--laundry, housework, grocery shopping, letters sent, cards made... how did I do it?!!! I work but one job now and procrastinate like a son of a gun. I'd better not retire; I'd probably not even budge. Ever!

  22. What an adorable topper. This really is a sweet card!
The EF is so perfect with this.

Just having a pop through and catching up on your posts. I have been busy sorting the craft room and purging a bit. Ahuge box of magazines will go to the thrift shop tomorrow and another box of odds and ends. I had a Xyron 500 that had never been used in 5 years...with the sook wang pages, it seems redundant now.

Weill have to post some photos on a WOYWW week as it will be nice to celebrate being finished.
