The card today has one of the lovely Nicecrane images I recently received. I think this size of image is referred to as a bookmark. I had to give a think as to how to best use it. Kept it simple.
- precolored image printed on paper, adhered to lightweight cardstock, distressed with DI Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. This image is really very beautifully detailed, and my photo skills do not do justice to the richness of colors. I'm going to try again, using some of the Copic Xpress paper to see how it prints on that. Do check out this website and enjoy looking at some beautiful images - not just birds either...lots of vintage designs too.
- Cheery Lyn leaf die, colored with copics over white snippet cardstock.
- cream card base, stamped with Creamy Brown Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink using Impression Obsession Cover A Card Music (CC029). With ink remaining on the stamp, lightly touched to the bird image. Shows faintly IRL as intended, not sure if it will show in the photo.
- top fold card was diecut at the edges with S/B Borderabilities Scalloped Borders Two. I saw the die used so beautifully on this gorgeous card by Benzi. When I saw Benzi's card I just had to hunt for this Spellbinder die. I think it's going to be quite versatile. Very pretty too - with 7 dies in the set.
On another subject, I had the most lovely surprise from Miss Darnell the other day. She & I know the deal, so I think it's enough that I just re-iterate what a super lovely lady is our Darnell, and if you don't "know Darnell" then you are missing out on something really special. Thank you Darnell, for adding some joy to my afternoon too. Hugs going your way, along with Big Thanks.
That's it from Upstate SC. Stay warm, keep safe & I pray these storms finally fizzle out. God Bless, and thanks for your visit. Hugs
Your card is so beautiful and the birds look lovely :)
ReplyDeleteI hope the snow goes soon I don't know whats going on with the weather at the moment we have so much rain here in the UK

Snow looks so pretty as long as you are indoors it's fine.
ReplyDeleteSnow round our village came and went very quickly. The hills that surround us are still well covered.
Love your beautiful card with the use of the pretty image and the stunning border Die
Stay warm and safe

Oh, Mary...you got those wonderful, curved dies. I was just thinking of trying to make a card with mine. It won't show up for a while, though. The Audubon Bird image is gorgeous. Your music panel is just perfect and I really like those added green leaves. Super card!!!
ReplyDeleteIt rained all afternoon yesterday at our house and the snow started about 5:45 p.m. with some sleet and ice mixed in, unfortunately. The snow didn't even cover my lawn. I was disappointed. But, today is absolutely beautiful and sunny. Everything has melted. Thanks for sharing your photos with us.
Aww thank you for your lovely comment and following the new one I'm a pain aren't i ;)
ReplyDeleteBlogger is more of a pain ha ha
Have a lovely evening

Gorgeous piece of work Mary, love the image and the green swirly leaves are just perfect, the border die is so pretty too. Nice photo's Mary - we just have wind & rain although snow is forecast for tomorrow evening x Susan x
ReplyDeleteOh my!!! You know I m partial to vintage anything. Beautiful job. WOW.
ReplyDeleteNever laughable! Sometimes pretty and sometimes deadly but never laughable.
Aww Mary love your card and those dies. We have had really bad storms but not flooded thank goodness, just lots of trees down and buildings damaged. We haven't had any snow this year the weather seems really weird LOL huggles Sue xxx
ReplyDeleteWow, that is stunning Mary! Love your photos of the snow too. I would love to see some of the white stuff, but here in the UK we are getting so much rain!
ReplyDeleteMary you did a great job with this beautiful image. Love those die pieces. The spring like vision of your card is the total opposite from your pictures of snow. Enjoy your snow. LOL
ReplyDeleteLet it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, I wish I could see some of that - but it's just not going to happen here this year! Maybe someday! Glad y'all are safe and sound and in out of the cold and just enjoying the view!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and I do love that die you used to create the side. So pretty and with that image it's so elegant looking! Fabulous job!!

Lovely card Mary, the bird image is beautiful and I love the curly die cut leaves. The music stamp and lovely curvy edge set it all off perfectly.
ReplyDeleteYour photos of the untouched snow look lovely, but I guess it's best viewed from inside a warm house! We rarely get any snow in our part of the UK but when we do just a little can cause havoc on the roads. I don't think we are likely to get any this year it is just too wet. There have only been a very few days since a week before Christmas when we have had no rain at all. Having said that the sun was shining today and although the wind was still cold it was quite nice outside, we still had a couple of showers though.

Oh wow, this is absolutely gorgeous, Mary!! What a beautiful image!! You colored it perfectly!! I love the shape!! What a stunning card!! I absolutely love it!!
ReplyDeleteI hope the snow and ice don't stay long. We have about a half a foot on the ground and are expecting up to 4 inches more by tomorrow. I am so over winter...bring on spring!! Have a wonderful evening :)

Got about 4-5" of beautiful snow in eastern North Carolina, too. Then, of course, there was that really treacherous ice that followed it. Arrrgh! I slid home from work, but thankfully made it without mishap. Hope you've enjoyed it, Mary. Thanks for sharing your latest creation. :-)
ReplyDeleteA really pretty card Mary using this Nicecrane image, and nicely distressed. The backing card looks gorgeous using the S/B borderabilities and the very subtle music stamp on that and the topper works beautifully. The pretty die cut leaves are a perfect finishing touch. x
ReplyDeleteOh wow Momma Mary, your card is gorgeous! I am loving that pre-colored image of those birds. You have used it so pretty on that die too!! I love how you distressed it too and the music stamps, so pretty! You guys got a lot of snow for the area!! The south just doesn't get snow much, so that is a huge deal and will shut things down quickly. Just stay in and stay warm! Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely!
ReplyDeleteI have some SB border dies, I'd better dig them out, this is gorgeous!
Such a pretty card. Love the intricate image, background and then the doily. Such pretty touches. Stay warm - great pics!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, you have made wonderful use of the Nicecrane image - I think you know how much I love Ignacio's work too. He will be delighted. Thank you for showing pics of the snow, I almost wish we had a covering of it instead of being deluged by rain, rain and more rain! Darnell is one of the kindest and sweetest lady and I am honoured to call her my friend too. Keep warm my friend. Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeletePS - forgot to say how much I love your blog header too....... A x
ReplyDeleteAdorable card! love the image
ReplyDeleteLove to look at fresh snow - but that's as far it goes!!! Your card is gorgeous Mary. Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteYou used this image beautifully, Mary! Love that edge! Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteLoved the snow, we got 8" and everything looks so pretty! Gorgeous card!!! waving hi from the snowy hills of North Carolina ♥
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, Mary. I love the curved die, the leaves and the bird. Your distressing is perfect. Our yards looked pretty much like yours yesterday. But today is another story! Thankfully, the ice and snow are gone in our area. Hope your snow is gone by now, too!
ReplyDeleteHey Miss Mary - if I have not commented on something it is because I am so far behind it hurts!! Your card is gorgeous - I think you are having a love affair with Nicecrane Designs and I don't blame you. I have my own snow to look at thank you. Two bright sunny days and the streets are all clear but the 7 inches is still melting in our yard. Still haven't decided on a header - how did you do your sides?
ReplyDeleteA much younger friend!
We had an inch of snow in Tucson, Arizona once and the city was completed crippled--everything shut down. Only this former Ohio girl didn't know that and trotted off to work driving carefully and watching with awe as a city bus slid at her sideways (he missed). Beautiful card! I find those bookmark sized stamps to be interesting to work with. You almost always have to put them at an angle otherwise you card looks half naked. Looking good!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful and your snow is lovely. We have about 4 feet of it up here :) But I know you are not supposed to have snow where you are. Hopefully it melts away quickly. Take good care, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous image and love the distressing and die-cut border-your snow looks lovely but no offence don't send any our way (not had any yet this winter) but loads of rain, rain, and more rain! and lots of wind

Beautiful car. I love the image but that die steals the show...It is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI've come all the way backwards to this post, Mary, and truly enjoyed the journey, especially the parts where I was traveling in the moonlit snow!! I'm sorry I'm behind again, what with the twinks here and you doing three posts in one day, lol!! All your cards are, as always, so pretty with wonderful attention to the smallest details. Mrs. A is going to love the pretty butterfly card!! Thank you for the shoutout - done perfectly - you are so welcome!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the week!! Hugs, Darnell
