Here's a card I did practicing the Iris fold I learned last Saturday. It's not great, but at least I was able to follow the pattern.
- Various yellow DP and card stock. If DP is used, the 'back area' is not so thick. This will have to be a hand delivered card. I even stacked some books on the card front to flatten it a bit. It's still too thick for a regular envelope. The witch was die cut from the THoltz Witch die, which also has a bat.
- Sentiment is one of the 'on the edge' dies, not sure if it was DieNamics or Memory Box, but I can verify this if someone wants to know for sure.
- Cut a card front from Coordinations texture paper, used a S/Binder circle die to make the opening to cover the iris fold. Then adhered the witch. Entire piece was then adhered to a cardbase.
For anyone who is interested in trying the Iris folding technique, there are patterns available..just google Iris fold and you'll find lots of free ones to print out.
Thanks for visiting. Hope to see you again tomorrow if I can manage it. Ya'll have a wonderful evening, and now I'm off for a rest. You will see me doing a Happy Dance when these chores are finished! (I can hear my Mama saying now "If - in a hundred years - it won't make a difference, why are you fretting over it?", but I still like a half-way clean house!) Hugs
Mary, you're so very wrong!!!! The iris fold behind that witch is PERFECT!!!! Love the looks of that completely! VERY nice card!

ReplyDeleteIt is smoking hot here again so we have decided to go to the lake next week instead of tomorrow... as DH is still sick with a horrible cold, this will work out better for him! You are doing better on the window front than me...I got distracted doing some gardening.. but it is windows next...no matter what!
Your iris folding looks great to me Mary and I just love that witch and bat. A wonderful Halloween card - love it! Really don't envy you the window cleaning.... really must do mine too. Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, Mary. Great job with the iris fold. That's something I've never tried. Someone will be very pleased to get this card.
ReplyDeleteYou are getting closer and closer to having everything spotless. You can come to my house next and help me. LOL
Oh Mary your iris folding looks great!!! I love it, what a perfect card this is-the moon was a great thing to do the folding for! Wow you are making good headway with the windows. I get my windows stuck at times too. Those tilt in's are nice but can be a bit tricky if you get them out of track any...don't ask me how I know! lol I guess to you will be glad when this chore is done and you can finally sit on that porch and relax, enjoying the scenery!! Especially the fall scenery! Hugs Momma Mary!

Beautiful Halloween card ! The Iris folding for the moon is a great idea. When I started making cards 7 years ago I started with paper folding! I still have a collection of papers & patterns that get used occasionally. Thanks for all your comments today at my blog, Shirleyx
